If we'd still had Erskine, we'd have won tonight. He is totally wasted by Ratnamara. Thankfully, so too is Gary Mackay Steven. I was more worried about him than any other Utd player.

I'm so proud of the fact that Archie resisted the opportunity to tinker with the title winning team and started with 10 of last season's stars and boy did they repay that faith! We're very good in this country at talking down our footballers (and sometimes rightly so) but this Thistle team really are a positive force in the Scottish game at the moment.

Paton is an utter tool. His antics after Christie's tackle on him were cringeworthy.

Minute's applause was excellent tonight, especially making it about Neil Duffy as well. Got to hand it to the Utd fans who all seemed to join in as well. I felt a bit emotional, big Beastie was one of my first Jags heroes. I hope the team spirit shown tonight was a fitting tribute to his memory.

You were doing great there until I read the bit about Doolan. Thought he worked tirelessly. I have no doubt that the goals will come for him if he keeps that workrate up. As for my thoughts on the game, Welsh and Fraser (are we sure he's only 19 - what a prospect he is) were absolutely amazing. Osbourne is going to have to play well to displace either of those 2. Bannigan was his usual industrious self. Defence was sound, ATS being the only (slight) weak link due to him being caught up the park on a few occasions. Fox was outstanding - his save from Dave the beast in the 1st half was sensational. With a bit more luck (and a stronger referee), we'd have won by 2 clear goals. Who the F*** is McNamara?

Hearing from twitter that one of my first Jags heroes, Colin McAdam has sadly passed away. Hope the club will do a tribute at tomorrow's game. RIP Colin and thoughts and condolences to his family at this sad time.

Chick Young really is an oxygen thief. He was complaining about Barcelona's away strip being like ours and tipping us for relegation. At one point he suggested that we didn't belong in the SPL before someone else piped up and said that he was just being bitter because we sacked his mate Collins years ago, How he gets a gig on the BBC is beyond me.

Quite impressive given we were 2-0 down at one point.

Interesting game although lacking a bit in goalmouth incident. We had an interesting shape late in the 2nd half when we appeared to be playing without a central striker (a bit like Spain / Barcelona sometimes do) Liked the look of big Gabriel Rojo de la Vega Piccolo. Certainly looked like he had a bit of physical presence which will be well needed in the SPL. Really need to replace Erskine as either Forbes or Lawless are not suited to the role. Mention must be made to the JHS side linesman who hasn't got a clue when the ball crosses the line or not.

I'm not moaning about us getting rid of him on loan. If (and granted it is a big if), he is ever to get a chance with us, he must be exposed to 1st team football at a decent level until January. He's not going to get that in the punt and rush league.

What benefit is it to us or the player to go to the 3rd Division? Surely, for him to improve, he has to go to a Div 1 side minimum. I'm sure he could go somewhere like Dumbarton and get a regular game.

Fair point re keeping hold of existing players. However, we let go of Dowie because we were told we could do better, similar with Craig and as yet, haven't replaced them. I don't see Baird as a Craig replacement as he's a different kind of forward player. The fact that we have a revolving door of trialists who come and go in the blink of an eye doesn't fill me with confidence. I trust Archie & Shaggy 100%, I feel that given the increase in income and TV revenue, we aren't giving him as good a chance to compete as I'd like. For the record, I'm not advocating spending stupid money or risking the future of the club in any way.

I am really dismayed by our transfer activity. When we were told that Archie knocked back Paton's wage demands because he said we could get better for less money, I was optimistic but now I really fear that the budget given to us is making us unable to compete with clubs at the bottom end of the SPL.

Good bit of business to get him to a decent sized club. Hopefully he will get games there and gain some confidence

McGeogh was sitting in front of us in the North Stand at the Morton game so he'll at least have some idea of how we play. Both would be cracking signings if they come with the right attitude. Probably unlikely though.

Any that stayed in the SPL. You can only compare like for like. It might be possible to compare McNamara's side with the teams of 1975-76, 1991-92 and 2001-02

It was by pure fluke that Santala did so well up front. He was only put there by the hapless DC to stop him from being such a bombscare at the back.

The fact that Aaron Muirhead stated that McNamara refused to change tactics for away games proves that we only won the league due to Archie & Shaggy being able to change our style in certain games.

Paton does seem to talk constantly about us. He's also trying to portray himself as some sort of victim in the article. However, the comments that we should applaud Judas are the ones that really stick in my throat. I will never thank him or give him credit for anything. This is a guy who tried to defraud Partick Thistle FC weeks after he signed a new contract and then tried to claim a win bonus for a league he wasn't capable of winning. He'd sell his granny for a fast buck.

Save all the anger and vitriol for McNamara. He's the real snake in all of this.
