  1. I remember one beautiful summer's day, Rod scored a hat-trick away at Berwick in the League Cup. At half time I spotted a photographer mate working behind the goal line and three of us went and spent the second half sitting with him and watching the game. Rod scored his third and ran over to celebrate with us. I fully expected us to at least get escorted off the pitch but no, we resumed our seats on our patch of turf and carried on pretending to be photographer's assistants. Strange day that. Think we won 7-1.
  2. The two words that crop up time and time again on fans forums discussing why Scottish football supporters want a change of league structure is boredom and repetition. The SPL proposal does nothing to address this complaint of the majority of fans in any way, shape or form. Unfortunately money has become the driving factor of the 12 SPL clubs voting to move this forward completely disregarding the appetite for complete structural change through the whole game. The self-preservation society strikes again and Doncaster looks set to secure his lucrative post for another few years in an organisation that is not fit for purpose. What happened to the revolution?
  3. Tony Shepherd at Starks Park, came on as a sub and Lambie took him off after about 20 minutes! Never played for us again thankfully.
  4. Before the cup game in Ayr about 8 years ago we had a pub load of Ayr fans singing 'I can't read....' (aimed at Killie). Bang on cue a tractor pulled up at the traffic lights outside............
  5. Re-locating Jags fans into the North Stand really seems to be paying dividends in terms of creating more atmosphere and, judging by Jackie's comments in today's BBC interview, having a positive impact on the players. At the same time, putting the away fans into the corner of the JHS marginalises them a bit and seems to keep them quieter then previous seasons. Hopefully we can keep using this to our advantage. Today was the best atmosphere inside Firhill since God knows when, absolutely brilliant!
  6. Looks like Stark is playing it safe so he can go down in history as the only Scotland manager with a 100% record! At this stage of his career Kenny Miller is just a waste of an air fare.
  7. It might be time to go down the foreigner route again, with more careful consideration given to choosing the right candidate than the last foray abroad. A loosening of the purse strings might be needed to attract one of the big European names but given Scotland's current standing, bottom of our qualifying group with 6 games to play and 56th in the FIFA rankings, this would be an attractive time for an experienced coach to take over as he would be guaranteed a fairly long honeymoon period. Names with proven international track records that spring to mind are Lagerback (currently Iceland coach), Hiddink (currently at Anzhi), Trappatoni (Ireland coach) and Hitzfeld (Switzerland coach).
