  1. can anyone tell me what are the stadium improvements he wrote about?
  2. It could be used as a cemetery for Jags fans, the club would make money by selling the plot for your coffin, we get to follow Thistle forever and ever (copyright: Joe the Jag). In the short term, just cut the grass back and dye or paint it red and yellow stripes every month with advertising dyed/painted on in the same way that you see on the pitch of the Six Nations.
  3. ok, that didnae work, how do i post an image? Sorted
  4. Jagielonia Bialystok had quite a nice looking hooped top last season
  5. Nothing the club can do if they are not selling on Club property. They can ply their trade on any public space with a street traders licence from GCC. The club have definitely lost a lot of revenue this season because of the Greaves deal coming to an end. I presume their hands are tied until the end of the season on producing new merchandise?
  6. I'm all for transparency and openness but I still find the timing of Beattie's comments inappropriate. Granted, he was put on the spot but I would have expected somebody in his position to be able to haud his wheesht, at least until the title is won. It just puts extra pressure on the players at a time when we need them to be 100% focussed on their football.
  7. Scougall would be a great addition and would suit our style of play but as one of the last things John Collins did at Livi was to tie him into a four year contract, our chances of signing him are slim to hee haw. Looking further afield, Croatia will become a member of the EU on 1 July this year meaning all of their players will be eligible to play in any European member state. The club should seriously look at tapping into this rich seam of talent if it's not already too late.
  8. ......and one last thing, I for one will not be setting foot in Tannadice until they (or MacNamara) have paid us every penny that is due to our club. FTA!
  9. .....oh aye, got it now.......regardless of Beattie's statement on the pre-contract agreement (and the reasons for it) it was hugely disrespectful of United to publish that photo on their website before our game against Raith Rovers when at least one of the players in question was likely to be playing for Thistle on the same night. As a club, DUFC are becoming as morally bankrupt as their across the street neighbours.
  10. Two points: Why did Beattie feel he had to confirm the pre-contract agreements one hour before kick off in one of our biggest games of the season when one of the players in question would be playing for us that night? It doesn't make sense unless he knew DUFC were going to go public with it anyway. I've forgotten my second point.
  11. And to compound his popularity at Firhill, MacNamara allowed a photo to be released of himself standing behind Paton and Erskine as they sign their pre-contracts with Dundee United. This was in the public domain before the start of our game with Raith Rovers last night. http://www.dundeeunitedfc.co.uk/picView.asp?PIC=54955_patonerskine.jpg
  12. If memory serves me correctly, in season 94-95 we went on a 17 match unbeaten run in the league, only interrupted by a cup defeat away to Dundee
  13. 1) Metz 1-0 Jags, the march from the stadium back to the city centre 2) Celtic 1-3 Jags, at Hampden, after match party in Clatty's was legendary 3) Jags 0-0 Forfar, my first Thistle promotion party
  14. Don't think so, however we were sitting at the back of the lounge so if they had been in the bar we might not have noticed. Balatoni was in after the Livi game a few weeks ago which might be what they were referring to.
  15. It was one of the bouncers who told us that but it wasn't an issue, we got into Oran Mor after no problem. We should have got our arses down there earlier but we felt we owed it to the new owner of the Woody to stay there for a while as he put on food and a DJ for the returning buses. That and we didn't get past Great Western Road without a pub stop...........
  16. When we arrived at around midnight we were refused entry on the grounds that they didn't have a late licence. Jags fans behind us were also refused entry (nobody was falling about drunk and we had females in the company). Disappointing as we had all been looking forward to the event.
  17. falling about pished in a 24 hour strip bar in Belgrade probably.......
  18. I can only see two guys out there clearing the snow! More snow forecast for 5pm.......not looking good...... http://mylivestreams.com/webcam/central-park-football-stadium-racewall-stock-car-racing-streaming-webcam-cowdenbeath-scotland/10916.html
  19. That's a belter, a sort of Jamaican/anarco/confederate rebel look to it....
  20. Just in case you have kids with you, North Stand is over 16s only
  21. It's a no brainer really; bigger crowds, wider exposure for the club, longer cup runs (hopefully), challenge for a European place (particularly the next two seasons), tv highlights and the occasional live tv match. With the positivity around the club just now there has never been a better time to kick on and establish ourselves as a top tier outfit on a permanent basis.
  22. Looks like voluntary administration could be on the cards according to today's Herald. It is not in any of the parties' short term interests to see Dunfermline liquidated so let's hope this move allows them to see our the season.
