  1. Sat at this end during the Hamilton game There was about a 50yr old man sitting in the middle of it, effing blinding and swearing at the ref. His wife had some riddy.
  2. so how come last night we had spells where 73% posession was ours yet we didnt score a goal? Its a simple tactic. Keep the ball and your opponent cant do anything with it. But we still need to be able to bury it ourselves otherwsie whats the point.
  3. I think we are now seeing why Higgy is not at a bigger club already. Not interested. Flashes of brilliance, then can't be arsed. We took a gamble on him when we signed him, he did us a turn, but now he is just lazy. Think it's harsh to blame Archie for Higgy's lack of concentration and motivation. But of course everything is his fault. Hearts would be mad to offer him a deal based on his current performances.
  4. On the subject of stats, had been meaning to ask...Is the performance/data analyst still working at the club?
  5. You can't blame McCoist really. If he waives his right to his payoff and leaves, then does anyone actually think that money will be used to help save the club? It'll go right into a director's pocket no doubt as payback form these interest free loans and whatnot. Can see why he won't budge without his cash. Also, the resignation thing seems like it was a "back me or sack me" plea from McCoist but they released the statement in such a way to make Ally look like the bad guy. Genuinely wouldn't surprise me if the contract he/they signed wasn't even proof read at their end. Double your salary if you decide to leave? Sounds mental but hell mend them.
  6. Are you sure Coisty didn't just watch a bit of YouTube on his phone yesterday?
  7. Naw that was Campbell somebody. Does the filming for them now.
  8. Its a figure of speech. I didnt say A deal was on the table, i said THE deal was on the table. Both sides had expressed an interest. We wanted McFadden, McFadden would have played for us. He trained with us for 2months. If you refer to several articles in the news this morning and posts above on here then you would see that what it seems is we didnt have the resource to offer McFadden ANYTHING. That's the Board's fault 100%. As the turnaround from him going to St J was less than a week then this would sugegst the BoD didn't entertain the idea that much. Seems like a case of Archie simply being told no way, or even worse not even asking because he knew it would be a No. Possibly trying to speak to the BoD through the medium of news interviews.
  9. What exactly am I making up? The manager came out and said "we have no money to sign James McFadden"....was that his decision? or was that decision made for him? What do you think?
  10. Well you've got Murdo, Collins, D&G...We have only been a top flight club on 3 instances since the inception of the Premier Division/SPL/SPFL/whatever. On this ocassion I would have to say that Archie/Paterson, whilst they show potential as a management team, clearly need alot fo time to nurture and grow as coaches/managers. But again, as with the last 3 times, I would be ionclined to say that the appiontment of those two in the first place was just a lackadaisical and cheap option for the BoD. We gave them the job on the basis that they won the 1st Division and while some might deem it only fair that they got their shot at managing the team in the top flight, it was McNamara's team and setup that won us that league. Since Archie has made the team his own, you can't argue that the team is now worse off than before. And it's not all his fault. Because it seems like the board are making it much harder than it already is for him. Like I said, the Faddy deal was on the table there. And the BoD just didnt seem to want to know about it. Just simply said "no" and Archie has to just say "ok, boss" and get on with it.
  11. Disagree, any time we have tried to operate as a top flight club we have wrecked it. And this is showing signs of the same thing happening again. First season we do okay, then the board start tightneing the purse strings. We lose good players, we replace them with players who are not as good. We lose a good manager, we take a cheap option. How many times will history repeat itself?
  12. I am already indifferent to the idea of relegation because the club does not appear to have made much progress on or off the field since we came into this league. With the signings we have made and the signings we are passing up on, we are not actively seeking to advance on last season's success. We are just happy to stoat along, get by and that is that. Crowds are now down and the BoD will now be looking at ways of cutting costs and sadly it's always the team who suffer first and foremost for that. Like I say, chairman has made himself look like an arse several times by making false claims about players and budgets. Maybe, just maybe, we are not a Premier League Club?
  13. Well tis basically taken St Johnstone 2 days of training to realise that he can give it a go. It was well longer than 5/6weeks he was with us. Absolute shocking. If the management liked him and they thought he could help the team improve then they should have worked something out with the BoD. Don't have the money? Find the money. Find sponsors, find a way of making it work. DOn't just sit there and say "sorry, no dice" Arhcie clearly nothing but a yes man to that twat Beattie. Looking back at that STV interview he has basically sat there for 15mins and talked utter pish. Hasn't delivered on any of his promises. Was actually stupid enough to quote that we WILL be signing Lyle Taylor. Then we didnt. Fed up really with Thistle just being content as a Football Club. It's been the same ever since Save The Jags. Yeah we're not a top team but hey at least we won't go bust. The way the club is run, the state the stadium is in, the marketing of the club. it is all complete dire. We simply don't deserve to be a top flight team.
  14. Do Hamilton still have a synthetic pitch? Just thinking that if they do, along with Kille, then would this mean McFadden would be unavailable for 4 games a season (and possible cup ties) as he cannot play on those pitches due to injury?
  15. How can a player at the age of 31 be too old?
  16. The chairman said in an STV interview that he would ensure we had the funds to bring in a better calibre of player. Marketability is key here. McFadden is not done. We will probably get him for half the price now than we would have if we steamed right in and offered him a deal. He is at the stage now where he is desperate to play. That article he did in the Sunday mail reeked of desperation. Saying his missus basically wants him out and getting a job. He mentioned money specifically not being an issue to him. I say we go for it. It's a gamble. But it's an opportunity. Motherwell seemed to just feel that McFadden had done all he could for the club. There is no doubt he pushed that team forward in his first season back. Where we are right now we need a player like him. I also think having him in the team might benefit Stevenson in a peculiar way. I can see them linking up together really well. An absolute dream for us.
  17. Stevenson I think is vital as a leader. People may not like his style of play but I recall the Ross county game and although the team had just taken a 2 game lead he was in among te celebrating players telling them to keep the head and stay in shape. When he was taken off at the Hamilton game I had a feeling the team would lose composure as he wasn't there as a constant telling them to cool it. And they did. The exact same thing happened last night. I'll put my neck on the line again here and say this. Some of these players hae served the club well in our championship year, but since coming up they have not adjusted to the increase in tempo. They struggle with having less time on the ball to make decisions. I see Stevenson running into good space a lot of the time but the service is rancid an a lot of the time players not even considering him as an option. Seeing the game on TV last night he looked visibly frustrated by the time he came off. It raises the question of McFadden...is he better than what we have? At this point I could arguably say yes. And again another Stevenson esque talisman in the team. We have nothing to lose at this point offering him a deal. Chic young States McFadden now would even consider a pay as you play so why on earth not? It could be another shot in the arm of the team, which we evidently need.
  18. The fact remains I posted a picture of doolan with a gut and yet you're still telling me he never had one.
  19. I know that. To me just sounds like someone spouting shite. How convenient that he walked past him topless in Spain! As for the other guy aswell. Conveniently was told by "one of the fitness staff" that doolan turned up for pre season in great shape and "had clearly been training in his time off. I posted a photo of kris doolan with a ******* belly. Which was taken around the time the team returned for training. And yet still two people are trying to tell me he never had one. It's there plain in front of you.
  20. You guys are hilarious "Doolan walked past me topless" Dare I ask.
  21. Well if you look at the photo I posted I'm clearly not talking shite
  22. What, so i'm an idiot because I stated a fact? He had a fairly visible belly in the kit launch pictures. So if people are looking for a reason why Dools is on the bench then it's not beyond the realm of possibility that he still isn't 100& fit. He clearly had a few too many kebabs in pre-season which for a supposed top flight professional player is a tad unprofessional as he should be maintaining his fitness and nutrition even when the team are taking a break.
