  1. I disagree, he didn't have the pace to catch him, he should just have made a better attempt at trying to trip the guy up instead of making a half arsed attempt.
  2. County managed to cope playing 4-4-2 fine, they played it last week by all accounts also.
  3. Osman was honkin but he's been one of our best players this season. He really does struggle to go forward with the ball or a pass & when you're losing at home, the pressure did seem to get to him that he wasn't able to play any sort of decent pass apart from one that went back to a CB.
  4. I'm more concerned that we might go down this season that I was last, despite being in a far better position this season. Our performances last season were almost always very good from start to finish, apart from in flashes, our performances this season have been extremely poor.
  5. Haven't read through the forum so not sure if it's been mentioned but the worst of the lot was Seaborne taking off the captains armband after giving away the penalty, it looked very like he wanted to be sent off & get off the pitch ASAP. Ridiculous behaviour from the captain, he didn't lead by example in any way. The tackle itself was crazy, that's something you'd expect from a young defender learning his trade.
  6. Meant to add that in that he shouldn't be posting online but I can understand it, at least Higgy has had a chance to rectify being benched (& not done alot with those chances), Lawless hasn't had a chance whatsoever really. Without a doubt I would have the team in training tomorrow morning.
  7. Not his best game but he was fine, we didn't win or lose the match due to his performance. He laid down a marker when he went to LB & got stuck in more to his opponent that Booth (& the rest of the team had) all match.
  8. He's had a good season & should be in the team ahead of McDaid. McDaid has offered nothing apart from a few fancy touches in his 4 starts, no end product & his touch has been awful when in a situation to create something. He may well go on to be a good player but he's not offering anything currently from the start.
  9. You say charity begins at home, home for Thistle is the club, not a foodbank. Good move, good publicity for it, helps those in need, can't see a negative from any side.
  10. I agree but if BRE & Lindsay are seen as up to the job come next season (Lindsay looked capable against Dundee Utd), we don't need 5 cbs on the books. Lindsay & BRE will also command lower wages meaning if Balatoni wasn't to be kept, it frees up finance for a player somewhere else in the squad. I wouldn't be against keeping Conrad, I just don't see the point in keeping him IF the 2 younger lads are deemed as good.
  11. Given we were in the relegation battle up until the 2nd last game of the season effectively there wasn't a chance to test players, even in the last game of the season we went out to win the match with pretty much our best XI.
  12. Unlikely. I think St. Johnstone will make the top 6 despite being dreadful, we'll need to catch Hamilton whilst hoping Dundee (who are 7pts ahead of us, played 2 more games) don't catch them also. We have 11 games.left, Hamilton are 14pts ahead of us, tough ask.
  13. Doubt he'll play much, if at all. Given how much extra each league position is worth, even if we are safe from relegation, there's always going to be importance attached to each match up until the end of the season making it difficult to give him a run of games unless absolutely necessary. I could see a situation where we go with Frans, Seaborne, Lindsay & BRE next season if the 2 youngsters are deemed good enough. We know what Balatoni is capable of, he's good enough but there's better out there.
  14. Yeah, doesn't mean though that if he impresses Hibs won't offer him a new deal or a rival wouldn't better our offer. I know we're probably wanting to check him out at this level but could mean we lose him if he impresses, unless there is a deal in place if he plays so many games etc.
  15. Saw him play for Raith a couple of times last season & he was their standout player, I'd hoped we'd try get him in the summer. Quite happy with the signing although I'd rather it was a permanent deal.
  16. He certainly needs to go somewhere, it's rare for a player to go from reserve level to 1st team without having 1st team experience at some level within recent history, especially with English teams.
  17. Unsurprising really when they already have 3/4 very experienced players who can play in his position. A number of young players have featued on the bench for Wigan since Malky took over.
  18. Do we though? Don't think there was ever quotes saying that, just speculation. Could be agents feeding papers information to alert other clubs of their availability, wouldn't be the 1st time.
  19. Seems to be common practice & is often cited (rumoured) as a reason for a player running down his contract, possibly rejecting a new deal at his current club or rejecting advances of clubs with 6 months of a contract to run. If SOD signed a 1yr extension with us, I'd still expect clubs to want him come the summer, but the transfer fee they'd have to pay would limit any reward going to him (unless a massive club tried to sign him), hence why players rarely sign a deal when they know they will be in demand in 6 months time.
  20. Is it? How many young Blackpool players have went on to bigger things in the last few years in comparison to Dundee Utd players? I can only think of Adam from Blackpool & he wasn't that young. Robertson, Gauld, Russell, GMS, Gunning, Dixon & soon to be Armstrong from DU have done so in the last year or so, they're becoming a club that clubs will scout when looking for good quality young players. Is it just me being hopeful but the longer ATS goes without getting a game for Wigan or being loaned out to a lower league English team that the chances of him coming up Scotland (& hopefully to us) increase? I'd have said we had no chance of getting him, it makes no sense in his development to come back up here, but he's still farting around in Wigan reserves & not being linked with a move away from that level, would certainly be worth making an enquiry.
  21. Going to Blackpool could easily be career suicide, only see them falling further down the leagues which would make it almost impossible for him to move to a larger team when the one he would be playing for would be in continual decline (they may not end up like that, but I can see them ending up like Pompey in a year or 2). He'll most likely go to Dundee Utd, or another Championship club may be alerted to him with Blackpool putting a bid in which might make them scout him until the end of the season. He's sure to go though & pocket something like £50k upwards as a signing on fee, can't blame him.
  22. Rangers are the same club when it comes to footballing history but when it comes to paying a debt owed to the SFA issued to the 'old club', they're not interested in paying it as it relates to the old club. Even Rangers themselves can't make up if they're a new or old club, well they can when wanting to seperate history & financial obligations...no surprises there. Can't have it every way.
  23. I see there's also a discount for St. Mirren season ticket holders, as there was for Dundee Utd fans a few weeks ago.
  24. Crazy rule, limits the development of young players & the earning potential of those players who are unwanted at their current club. Typical from Fifa/Blatter right enough.
  25. We should be in a position to offer O'Donnell a competitive deal (should we stay up), along the lines of what Stevenson is rumoured to be on. Would that be enough to keep him? Probably not as DU can still offer more but it's certainly worth trying to push the boat out to keep him, he's improved so much & has all the attributes that will either benefit us or make us some cash in the future.
