  1. Gutted to lose that. Played good stuff and Sinclair & Elliot look like cracking finds. Rowson and Cairney also had good games. Really enjoying watching the football Jackie is getting the team to play - massive difference from that of McCall's. We have to bear in mind the players are still getting used to our change in approach, we arent clinical enough at the moment but hopefully that will come on more once we get further into the season. Seems to be anybody's league this year. Mon ra Jags!
  2. Why do you disagree about McCall? Not a dig just interested to know. My view is we are bottom of the league whilst playing utterly garbage football and it has been like this since January. I was on the fence until recently but results like this and the defeat at home to Stirling and away to Cowdenbeath have shown that the bad performances on show aren't unusual
  3. Some of the criticism on here is rather harsh today i feel. Sure we looked nervy on occasions but thats due to the low confidence that comes with the recent criticism the players have recieved. Today we saw all the players busting a gut and thats all we can ask for and hopefully they can transfer that attitude into away games soon. Jackie will be a big bonus in the games to come as we are a completely different outfit with him in the team as we were able to build play from the back on many occasions at a good tempo with his organisation and movement Would like to add imo Paul Paton had his best game in a Thistle jersey for well over a year! He crossed well, tackled well and was willing to get up and down the wing to be involved in the play. I am normally a big critic but credit where its due he seemed to be a completely different player today and hopefully he can keep it up and prove the critics wrong
  4. Yes other teams are just as impoverished which is why the no money excuse isn't viable. Other teams however are deploying these limited resources more successfully than us and this is why I feel many fans are angry with the current situation at the club and quite rightly so i.m.o. Sure, McCall may not be the main culprit therefore with regards to this - as you say - but surely some responsability has to come down on his shoulders as other first division managers seem to be adapting to this current football financial climate with their teams much better than we have. I do want to stress I am still not sure what to make of McCall with regards to getting rid etc. 4 games into the season is far too early to start making judgements but when the "he has no money" argument comes out I think this is not an effective way to judge the situation - particularly when we have just lost to a team on by far a lesser playing budget than ourselves.
  5. Never said it was. Im merely highlighting we cant use the no money excuse to protect McCall
  6. McCall has much more money than Cowdenbeath
  7. Its the defence who are the main problem which is why I cant believe McCalls post match comments that the defence shouldn't be held to account for yesterdays performance. Paul Paton is possibly the worst full back I have ever seen at the club - and I've been going for 22 years now. We are basically a player down as he merely punst possesion back to the oppositions back line for them to start again and by doing this it forces or forwards to feed on scraps and the game to bypass our midfield. Paddy Boyle also seems inconsistent and like Paton fails to take on any player when running with the ball. The centre backs also haven't been to clever but with back up like Kinniburgh we can't afford to even think of replacing them. The forward line are feeding on scraps every week which is why for the past 6 months our team are lucky to have more than 2 shots at goal when we play and its getting frustrating that McCall fails to address this problem.
  8. If Thistle play like that every week I don't think anyone can really complain win or lose! Everyone put in a good shift and just shows what can be done by this team. Flannigan has to get a special mention as he has looks a class act
  9. Why sign a midfielder and a striker when it is blindly obvious the priority is that we need at least 2 defenders.
  10. Kinniburgh is a nightmare! We will probably be less vulnerable now that he is off
  11. Hope Raith will take it easy in the second half and have some sympathy for boyle and hodge
