  1. Back in the mid70s my pal Jim had a Saturday job on the Sunday Mail - part of the job was to make sure a ball was in whatever crop of the picture was being used (it hardly ever was) so he had to stick an appropriate sized picture of one in frame. No Photoshop in those days
  2. After tonight (and all those other roll over refs) Brasil deserve the worst humiliation left to them - defeat in the Final... to Argentina
  3. If Celtic get through to the 3rd Qualifing round of the Champions League they will be playing the Wednesday before the opening Saturday of our season - does postponement suit them? At least it's not being postponed so that they can play a not-pre-season friendly.
  4. It was unbelievable - stewards stepped back and the polis stepped up - aside from their overtime WTF were they worried about?
  5. We were talking about this on the way out of Tynecastle - great prediction of the score - 2-4 !! I'd settle for £1-0 or even £2-0 on Saturday :-)
  6. Hearts fans in the pub tonight were saying - they were happy Higginbotham is signing for them. - was at the Hibs/Hearts derby game (in the Hearts end). - didn't like the £4k a week he was going to be getting.
  7. They do - tight squeeze through the wee gap - but plenty of turnstiles all taking cash.
  8. They told me cash at the gate and they'd open an hour before KO They claimed they'd be putting on extra turnstiles after the last time we were through here. Hope they do.
  9. Last calendar was out of date by the third week in January. The club could sell a nice set of stickers in the New Year and we could keep up to date and raise addition funds at the same time.
  10. Bought tickets online this afternoon. They are getting posted out. The queues to pick up tickets from the booths at the Croatia game last month were cronic, many missed the start.
  11. was derelict for at least about twenty odd years. Before that a chinese restaurant and before that it was actually a real cafe ( so long ago the Jags were still playing in Partick)
  12. Most at 12, but the Kelvingrove Cafe in Argyle St and the 78 in Kelvinhaugh St are open til 1
  13. ^^^ this 'Just in' from watching it all again on BBC Alba We seemed even better the second time around
  14. Surely that is the point Joan Collet was making. For an Old Firm you need two arse cheeks. You're wanting it both ways - supporting one cheek while dissing the other. (Thankfully there is no Old Firm in Catalunya, unfortunately for us here only Scotland has that toxic blend). Barça's overbearing dominance in Catalunya is the issue. Forget Barça and Royal Sports Club Espanyol - as a Jags fan you should really be supporting UE Sant Andreu (Saint Andrews). They play in Red'n'Yella (stripes), black shorts, and are doing their best to claim the mantle of FC Escocès (Scots FC) indeed a team of Scots from the Coats factory in their neighbourhood of Barcelona. They have a whole page on it on their web site with a picture from 1900 (FC Escocès lasted only 9 months in 1900 BTW) It's in Català but if you browse it using Google Chrome it'll offer to translate into a kind of English.
  15. So you write posts to yourself? Folk like me, 'Jum Spence' and the rest i.e. everyone that isn't in the laager with you defending the faith against the facts. You are still here - on a Thistle forum trawling away, pleading injustice, deluding yourself - its just that your old team Rangers aren't
  16. Spiers was wrong - Oldco Rangers is the undead. Your paranoia, your laager mentality, your sleep-walking denial of reality, show you up for the shower of zombies you patently are.
  17. Earlier this afternoon, the Via Catalana, a human chain from one end of the country to the other. ...passes Camp Nou but by not also passing RCD Espanyol's stadium has put out their president Joan Collet.
  18. Thank you for taking the time to participate. Councillor Archie Graham Depute Leader of Glasgow City Council Executive Member for the Commonwealth Games Archie used to run the Celtic bus from the Mulberry in Langside Road
  19. Good Morning Scotland A good interview he supported Lennon, stressed he was a St Mirren supporter that attended matches and praised the Jags http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23926247 Here it is as a new piece on the BBC site
  20. You obviously have never been to Barra, Erriskay or South Uist (Western Islands) or huge tracts of Ardnamurchan and Moidart (Western Highlands) where religion does indeed settle who many support but it's certainly not Sevco.
  21. Aye and you always wear your Ireland top to Jags games to show your fraternal solidarity with our celtic cousins.
  22. Si, és de veritat, Catalunya és més que un club - sense dubte més que RCD Espanyol. Visca pericos? Els pericos porten les samaretes de Kilmarnock FC!!
  23. ...and one tartan. (right enough with the standard of football witnessed from the national team recently I'd have been better off totally pished as well).
