  1. Fantastic night and despite losing on Sunday its still been a magic week.Have never experienced euphoria as I did when doolans goal went in and the atmosphere tonight was electric. We never looked like losing with balatoni immense. Well done lads we are on our way!!!!
  2. I hope you are right mate and you probably are but the thought did cross my mind and it's not beyond the realms of possibility. But right now what we need is positivity so I will withdraw that thought and go with your own more trusting and positive explanation.
  3. Could this explain Erskine's performance yesterday where he was non existent? If you are guaranteed a move elsewhere are you not more likely to make sure you don't end up with an injury. If Archie knows he is definitely for the off then he may well leave him out of the side and replace him with someone who is fighting for a new contract.
  4. I do accept that you are not condoning football hooligans at games and glad that you emphasised that point of view. For myself, I reiterate the point that whilst welcoming anyone who wishes to come along and genuinely support the Jags we should still be vigilant against the rogue element and that means not lamely accepting any banner being unfurled particularly on national TV (42 years from now). Again, would people have been so relaxed if a banner from either side of the OF was draped over an exit simply because they had a soft spot for the Jags. I don't think so? But I am sure your conversation with with the young Mod was fine and hope you were able to drown your sorrows like the rest of us.
  5. It seems YOU are easily pleased mate. So you spoke to a nice casual in a pub who seemed fine therefore we should just ignore the whole casual culture which historically has got nothing to do with football and more to do with aggro. If they are there to lend their support why leave such a tightly balanced game well before the end? Was the action they were looking for not up to scratch? It's nothing to do with being English. Had Aberdeen casuals put up their banner that too would have been unacceptable or how about a big banner with Rangers/Chelsea? Don't be so naive, the connotations are obvious as well documented in other posts. Thistle fans should distance themselves from this contingent completely.
  6. Well done to that guy. That banner was really getting on my wick. nothing to do with Thistle and put up by a couple of casuals, although helped to do so by genuine Jags fans. What was that all about?
  7. 75k ? That's just about enough for Jackie to pay his bills.
  8. As we all know Forbes has an excellent delivery but I do feel he is a bit of a luxury player who is good to watch when you are winning. At this stage we need people to battle and chase back as well as playing the glossy stuff we have produced all season. I would keep him in on the bench at the moment.
  9. Too right. That was the sort of result that you need if you are going to win the league. Down to 10 men for a third of the game and still coming away with something.Morton have to attack us and we will pick them off.Yeesss the Thistle!
  10. This made me go into hysterics with nervous laughter. It summed up how I feel just now. Almost every waking minute has me reliving goals, near misses, juggling permutations and my stomach is in a constant knot. Wouldn't swap it for anything. Brilliant Jags, brilliant!!
  11. Excellent post. I have been running the comparisons around my head between the two teams for weeks now and agree with everything you have said. However I would add that the current team has been consistently the most exciting and enjoyable I have had the pleasure to watch in 45 years. It makes you realise what it must be like to be an OF fan when playing at home i.e. even when you go behind you still fully expect to come back and win comfortably. Brilliant stuff!!
