  1. Started off looking like we would hammer them. McMillan coming off seemed to result in us losing momentum. At the end was happy with the point as was every other jags fan at the game going by the singing. For me a real plus today was the new signings. Stevo worked solidly and looked gubbed by the end. Seabourne had a great game and after seeing him 3 times I think Abs Osman is even better than big ozzy. He is tough but a wee bit more creative. This is going to be s good season.
  2. You would think that both sides have been wearing no socks throughout the season considering the dreadful decisions made by officials every week. Hilarious at tynecastle when 'you dont know what your doing' was sung after a free kick was given to thistle which was never a foul in a million Wednesdays.

    Higgy

Folks I was at Perth and by his usual standards he played better than he normally does but it was still of no consequence. The only position I would be willing to try him out at some point and give him an opportunity is full back. Who knows? but as a forward he sure isn't a threat and should never be ahead of Higgy or Taylor or Lawless or any other midfielder/forward.

I am looking at the bigger picture of the team and the point is he doesn't bring anything to it. Unlike the criticism of Higgy this is not only a judgement made on one or two poor games. It is a judgement made over not only this season but also on last. Because you try hard doesn't mean you should constantly be in the squad. An element of talent is also required.

Elliot replacing anyone is ludicrous. I am sick to death of hearing people call for Elliot when things are going wrong.'We need to inject a bit of pace', ' we need to stretch the game' etc etc The guy just hasn't got it at this level. Yes he gives 100% but 99% of the time it is to no avail.I am still an Archie fan but having this guy in the frame regularly is really not helping the team. I'm sure others with far more ability must be shaking their heads when they see him coming on or not being subbed. Finally all this criticism of Higgy is equally ludicrous. He has been in our top 3 players all season. He had a poor game like all of them on Sat but give the guy a break.
  6. Sorry guys the fact that he puts in 100% effort doesnt hide the fact that he is undoubtedly the worst player in our squad. You never anticipate anything exciting is about to happen when he gets the ball. I think Archie is blinkered when it comes to Elliot. He played better on Sat but only compared to his own standards. Compared to anyone else it was a very average performance. I would play Lawless ahead of him any day. I would even have played sod in front of McMillan before him. I love this team but for me he is a weak link.
  7. Due to our recent good factor I had a look at my video from last season and thought I would share the moment the players arrived in the Star & Garter. I'm certain we will be celebrating our survival in a similar fashion in a few weeks time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iybmIqka2Rc&feature=youtu.be
  8. To be honest I would have preferred Elliot out ahead of Forbes. At least with Forbes there was a glimmer of hope of something being created.
  9. Ridiculous the slating craigen is taking here. He has had some poor games, today being his poorest but I think he is vastly improved from last year. He never hides and is always available. Needs to work on finishing but who doesn't in this current team.As for the Star and garter nonsense. I was there when they were all in, so what? They were all nice guys but doesn't affect my views on what is best for the team e.g. I would drop balatoni and Elliot would get nowhere near the team.
  10. Brilliant to see Chris back. Couldn't stop smiling for hours although when I read Dufcfan's description of his play at tannadice it sounded as though it was Elliot they had signed.
  11. Agree with Metz. Archie can do nothing whatsover about Balatoni or Doolan heading over from 2 yards out or Lawless blasting over v killie among many others. If we had scored from the sitters we have missed this thread would have been named Archie must go ...in place of moyes

    Killie Game

Agree 100% with your summation of Elliot.I said similar elsewhere. Still dont get why some folk even when semi critical of him still seem to value him as an impact sub. I dont mean for him to be a scapegoat but he has done no better at all in having an impact on our season than Baird who HAS been made a scapegoat. Also agree that Forbes offers far more danger although he is a luxxury we cant afford with his apparent 50% work rate. Dont think Archie basing on personal relationships though. Think it is purely bad judgement on his part that Elliot will develop into an effective player. It aint gonna happen Archie.
  13. Seriously thought of starting a new thread on Elliot alone. Some players have off games, some make individual errors but Elliot consistently offers zilch. Keep hearing about his pace and stretching defenses but it never happens. Runs about with lots of heart but no skill. First touch deplorable and never makes defence splitting passes. His selection in ANY game is my only criticism of Archie. He is an average div 1(as in the new div 1) player at best.
  14. Mcnawonga must have been sleeping when Archie was expressing an interest in Fraser. Had he not been we all know what would have happened!
  15. Thought that was a very decent summary of our season until he mentioned Elliot bullying teams. Whit??
  16. I reckon McNamara spends all day and night scouring all social media sites for anything related to Partick Thistle and as soon as he senses we are remotely interested in anyone he just pounces to purely piss us off. I bet he approached Taylor who told him where to go as deep down he has always only ever wanted to play for the mighty Jags!
  17. I would play the exact same team and same tactics against hearts. Keep it solid at the back and we will def score against a far inferior team. We were breaking well today and Taylor looked a real threat. Hats off to Archie for nearly pulling it off.
  18. Great signing. All we need is a solid centre back and get erskine back on loan then we can all start smiling again.
  19. Higgy and craigen are the only players who are creating anything upfront this seaon. Hopefully the substitutions were made to ensure our best hopes along with dools for scoring against st mirren were not sent off or injured. For team spirit though surely bannigan and possibly Welsh should be rested. If I were Forbes, lawless or Kerr and this didnt happen I would be questioning the managers judgement.Already sat is a big game we want people fighting for their places.
  20. I would offer Jackie mac a phenomenal contract, get him to resign from utd then go back on the deal.
  21. Not advocating that players should be dropped immediately after having a poor game but If Craigen was dropped after having one poor game then why not Bannigan as that is two in a row for him. The players on the bench must think they are due a shot when others perform below par. Still not sure what our settled team should be though. Fraser looked excellent at the start. Certainly on Osbournes performance today he is due an extended run. Never been a fan of Elliot but have to admit he did look lively today and more effective than Lawless when he came on. Tough choices for Archie. I tell you what though, he might be a fat lazy sod but if Boyd had been playing for us alongside Dools today we would have walked it.
  22. I remember this game being on Scotsport. My Dad got me out of bed to watch it and I went back to bed greetin' cos I knew I would take pelters the next day in school. (I was a pupil by the way not a teacher). I'm sure this was a Scottish Cup replay where Thistle had came back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 at Firhill in the first game.
  23. My father was a rangers fan til he was 18 but thankfully decided he hated the bigotry he was witnessing and stopped going to football. When i came along he made a conscious decision to keep me away from the OF and took me to firhill. This continued until I was totally sold then he stopped going as his mission was accomplished.I continued going by myself throughout my teens and adulthood as most of my mates were Celtic fans. I then indoctrinated my own kids but this time it was from the heart. They too got hooked and now as adults we go for a beer before/after the games. I am forever indebted to my da for making that decision and just wondered how others got the jags in their blood?
