  1. "Cancellations to services between Glasgow Queen Street and Inverness Due to poor weather conditions between Perth and Inverness: Impact: Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Inverness may be cancelled, delayed or terminated at and started back from Perth. Disruption is expected until 23:59 10/01. Customer Advice: Passengers should be advised that there is no guarantee of travel on these affected lines today and that they should consider either not travelling or make their own arrangements. Buses have been requested to operate this route, however these are limited and cannot be guaranteed. Road conditions are also subject to change as the day goes on." Copied from site under line disruptions. I probably read it wrong first time, it appears you may get through just no guarantee. Turn up and hope situation. EDIT the 07:10, 10:10, 12:09 from Queen Street to Inverness are stopping at Perth. As is the Edinburgh train due to Inverness at 14:10 (connecting train from Queen St). So doesn't look good.
  2. Flooding at Kingussie (always a real hot spot because it's a flat and narrow valley with a very large river) has meant no service between Perth and Inverness. Not expected to be back on until tomorrow. Buses are running so an option is train to Perth then bus to Inverness. Or a bus the whole way - the A9 has no reported problems. Trains are running from Inverness to Dingwall.
  3. I think that circumstance has somewhat contributed. They got promoted, luckily, then had no money to sign many people. Got written off by any critic going and Neil managed to tell them to go out, work hard and you'll still be playing top flight football next year. Margins of winning are so tight in this league that a little extra effort goes a long way. I do believe if we had beaten them then they would never have gone on that run. Their bottle would have been burst and pressure may build. But we just spring boarded them onto the next level of confident. It will be interesting but I really can not see championship players taking the hairdryer treatment well these days. As for the 'tactical genius' papers say he is when he was linked with Norwich - well if winning a game makes you a tactician then so be it. But Accies line up week in week out as 4-1-4-1 with pretty similar line ups every week. Hard working players plug holes in formations so think that's a bit of a by-product as well. Anyway I may eat my words, but can't see it.
  4. Lo and behold 2 of our 6 reds last year were given by none other than Collum himself!
  5. Bit of stats: Year - Games - Yellow - Red 14/15 - 26 - 95 - 10 13/14 - 46 - 130 - 16 12/13 - 52 - 177 - 10 11/12 - 43 - 142 - 9 10/11 - 33 - 104 - 13 09/10 - 27 - 52 - 7 08/09 - 33 - 106 - 9 07/08 - 31 - 106 - 9 06/07 - 31 - 114 - 7 05/06 - 23 - 60 - 6 04/05 - 8 - 22 - 5 10 years 353 games 1106 yellow cards 102 red cards. Wasn't sure what to compare it against (other than a different ref) but in comparison to us last season we got 6 red cards in roughly 45 games. So that's a red every 8.5 games. Collum averages a red every 3.5 games. Likewise 74 yellows, so just less than 2 a game, Collum averages 3 a game. Plus we have Bannigan and Higginbotham! Anyway, no amount of stats can change anyones opinion on the Worlds Top Worst Referee.
  6. Wiki says we were linked with him last year as well which would go along with Archie's past recruits. Defensive mid is a priority as well. Quick search and since Hearts he's played in the Segunda Division and at the top of the Finnish and Bulgarian leagues then signed for Yeovil while they were in the championship (got injured and released when relegated in the summer). He's 6' 2" and 31 so experienced - probably not a bad option for some tougher games later in the season. With Fraser, Bannigan and Osman our main men in midfield he only needs to be more a back up anyway. for his homemade highlights! edit: (just watched them and he actually looks pretty good - bit of a Gerrard type, tackling, passing short and long).
  7. I would agree with your list except Richards-Everton - got good praise on loan and we haven't even seen him play? Welsh is a hard one but we can't afford players to never be fit. We have stuck by him for a long time now. People will moan at Craigen and Elliott being released but my argument would be any player in the first division that is young and getting decent reviews will be better than these two. Look at us when we got promoted - all our first team have done well, likewise with Hamilton, Dundee, Ross County when they came up. So I don't think we would have a problem replacing them with better. On such a small squad we need every player to be as good as possible.
  8. Can't see any chat about our game against Ross County - must be some sort of record for prolonging the team talk. Hard to say what we will line up like but Higgy, Seaborne and Elliot are back and perhaps Frans according to Archie. I'd plop for: Gallacher O'Donnell Balatoni Seaborne Keenan Fraser Bannigan McDaid Lawless Higginbotham Stevenson Keenan was the poorest of the youngsters but deserves another shot as came on to a game and United were clearly forcing play his way (against probably the best wingers in the division). Seaborne back in, was thinking Frans as well but don't want to risk him considering Balatoni played well last week. Give frans another week rest then back in. Fraser Bannigan only option for holding two. I'd like McDaid to have another shot at what should be a weaker and slower back four. Lawless was excellent and deserves to play. It was a tough call between Higgy or Dools to play, I opted for Higgy as Dools hasn't been up to speed all season in my opinion and you never know what you can get from Higgy. Him being on the pitch is enough to divert attention from Lawless and McDaid anyway. Stevenson upfront, purely to accomodate the other players and I think he is now one of our only undroppable players (other than Gals, Seaborne, Osman and Frans) (Bannigan and Fraser are close behind but if Welsh was fit, I would sometimes not have one of them in the team so that's why I don't class them as completely undroppable). Feeling confident of a 3-1 win! Could be a potentially really good or really bad next two weeks looking at other fixtures.
  9. Jordan has done himself no favours on the official site ...
  10. I was a bit facetious with my response - said tongue-firmly-in-cheek. Two actually, anyway, just hope its resolved soon.
  11. Notice Ayr have or are close to being this 4 star academy- the same as we just got. So may be good to get some formal links set up.
  12. The statement on the official website doesn't say when he was suspended. Perhaps it was never intended to get out but appears to have been leaked a few days ago now so club had to respond. He's probably been suspended a good few weeks already. Also good to see my football related comment was removed. If anyone pm's me I'm happy to reply.
  13. If it is what the rumours suggest, I would hope we don't lose McMillan over it. We are struggling for left back and think it will be tough to get anyone better in the window.
  14. I've officially given up. I now know how Ed Miliband must feel.
  15. Created a profile for follow follow and it says I don't have permission to access the forum part of the site? Can't even run a decent internet site. edit: had to manually enter an activation code, I hope this is worth it (probably a wild goose chase) - now in the "moderation que", it's exciting times.
  16. Hadn't seen he was suspended pending an investigation ! Can see why people wouldn't want to meddle in anything now. Well if anyone is kind enough to pm me that would be appreciated.
  17. In what way would the site get in trouble? Genuine question, has the site had previous problems with rumours posted or?
  18. Is this forum not for rumours, speculation, ramblings as well as facts and proper debate. It's a forum after all, clearly every one wants to here the rumour so maybe somebody should just post it up?
  19. It would be interesting to see a break down of the teams awarded penalties/ given red cards by him. It may just be me, but it always seems to be the bigger clubs getting the penalties and the smaller clubs the cards. A feeble attempt to be popular? This guy should not be a referee full stop. At least not in the premiership.
  20. Is anyone willing to shed light on these 'rumours' that are apparently rife? Not heard anything?
  21. Probably explains why they didn't let him back in the team - he did have a shocker. Completely forgot/ didn't remember Hibs ended up winning.
  22. I was speaking about Cairney last week - I think he could do a job for us. He played week in week out for Hibs when they were second in the league a couple seasons ago. Had a bad game v Falkirk (maybe Raith) in the cup and got hooked at half time. Seemed to take the blame for the loss and didn't feature much after that - Hibs then fell down the table quite drastically. He signed for Killie but just hasn't been featuring at all except odd bench game - not really had a chance. Signed a two year deal with Killie in the summer there so probably won't be released.
  23. Harkins, Paton, Erskine, Tuffey, Cairney, Twaddle who all got bigger moves after us (for better or worse) plus the likes of Bannigan, Doolan, Fox, Balatoni (loan) were all integral players for us getting promoted. He also re-signed our current manager Alan Archibald and our previous manager, who went on to a bigger club. I think he'll do a good job at what could be a decent championship club. I always like having a few second teams to keep an eye on and Ayr were already one due to Mark Roberts but will probably upt my interest a little now. The lack of Scottish managers in England has narrowed my choices down South.
  24. Notice bbc gossip confirms ATS is due to go out on loan but no mention of where. I'd imagine they'd want him tested in England but never know.
