  1. It will be comedy gold inside the changing room during the half-time pep talk. What an entertaining combination. Tempted to take in a Clyde game before the end of the season to see those two in action on the touchline
  2. Could not agree more, Honved. So it was Col Hughes that hit JJ with the lead piping in the study...but the JT did not smell a rat?!
  3. Get Inspector Morse on the case too; every pitch needs a good Thaw once in a while
  4. My reason is much more feeble. Will be stuck on train between Lockerbie and Manchester. Only consolation is the thought of finding a decent mancunian bar to try and listen to radio coverage via internet !
  5. With hair like that, he would never had made it into Jethro Tull though
  6. Did you know that the Brechin FC social club used to have a miniature musician who would play requests for visiting fans? They say the club was well-endowed with cash reserves at that same time.... Yeah, he was a 12 inch pianist ! (the ghost of Benny Hill lives on)
  7. Oh yes, bigger battles lie ahead. But to fight them we need an effective, strong Trust with no baggage, no hidden agendas and no cabals. A clean, refreshed JTB would be essential if we are to have a say in the future of the Club we love. So think of it as short term pain for longer term gain? The Club, Trust and supporters relationships are currently broken and dysfunctional. If it requires a purge in the JTB and/or Club Board to break through the impasse, then it will have been worth it me thinks.
  8. Bring on the beech hedge, cracking away tie!
  9. I too am eagerly awaiting the promised JT statement, once they can agree what they are prepared to say. Let's hope it's out today!
  10. BCG Jag, your efforts are laudable and I wish you well. You might usefully reflect on the fact that a number of good people have tried to change the Trust in recent years. Most of them resigned from the JTB eventually. There was, and remains, at least one common factor - you must not underestimate the strength of the resistance you may encounter.
  11. Not surprising this really. PG is from Big Blue Star, a media company. The Peter Mandelson of Scottish Football ? BBS did sniff around PTFC a few years ago but nothing came of it...
  12. Good shout Jeanie, would give us a chance of revenge for that Dundee Utd game last January when we deserved better. That day precipitated a crap few months for Thistle; so time to take revenge?
  13. I'm actually thinking I'd rather have bad grammer (sic) and a brusque attitude in the Boardroom right now - infinitely preferable to shadowy financial and legal practices me thinks. Oops, bad grammar there !
  14. Yoda, I believe the JTB Secretary (Donald) aims to post an official JT response to last weeks events later this evening or tomorrow. I'd imagine it will be very interesting to see what they say about TH communication and their reaction and response. Just for the record, I don't know what happened nor what the JTB are prepared to say! I'd hope we can discern the true influence of the NW3 in all of this....
  15. No it was Everything Everything... an interesting listen
  16. M'lady has hit the nail on the head here. A bit of common sense might help bring fans together rather than create issues where they need not exist; those that were turned away would have not left with a negative impression of the Trust. As lennythistle says in his last post, McCall would have taken a 'more the merrier' approach. Armand2's comment above makes it clear where the current problems with the image of the Trust lie: "It's the self righteousness of the JT board members, two in particular, that irritates me." Time for change ? Which business would turn away potential customers to make a point of principle ? Pigheadness will see JT membership fall again next year; we might not even need anyone on the door to keep people out...
  17. Yes, the jury will have to take a balanced view until proven otherwise. Like they had to do with Tommy Sheridan (and we know how messy that one became when the facts emerged...)
  18. Does make stark reading, Double Ugly...when the all the facts emerge, this could be messy.
