  1. maybe javeajag could shortcircuit things and speak to his good friend impecunious ? I suspect that would be an easy conversation to arrange
  2. If you are laughing, you are either taking a naive view on things or you haven't thought about the implications for the sustainable future of our Club.
  3. javeajag, with respect to your opinions, this problem is one of deeprootedness and complexity not OF-style (in)sanity. As others have astutely deduced, we may have to wake up and smell the coffee. JJs style is unique, but he is a man of integrity who had the longer-term interests of the Club in his heart. If only others had such qualities, we might not be in the same mess. PropCo....discuss ? Double Ugly has seer-like qualities, he is usually proved correct by history. Just a thought.
  4. You couldn't make this stuff up. Where's Taggart when you need him? "haw sur, theres been a murder up Firhill way...." If not Taggart, then Bert?
  5. Surely someone used to the professional code of ICAS ethics would have the moral fibre to resist playing with proxies in this way? Especially if they had a personal interest in removing a Director who had a good line in questions about the past? Unthinkable, clearly
  6. A coot little pun, m'lady (so bad I seem to have posted twice)
  7. Reading that makes me proud of how fair and above board the JTB elections were in 2008. Ironic that the Trust got that bit of the process right. It delivered a good result if I remember. RDR, Red Monkey and Fellow Traveller all in... (awaits Double Ugly blushing at his popularity!)
  8. Things are stacking up a bit. Stolenscones reference to ICAS is an interesting one angle too. It's what is NOT in the JT statement that intrigues me; have things been taken out or not been said ? I wonder if the shadowy house of Firhill cards is about to fall ?
  9. This story makes the main new bulletins this morning. I suppose you could say it's Dee-day for the Club... (get's coat from hook, closes door gently on way out)
  10. It will be comedy gold inside the changing room during the half-time pep talk. What an entertaining combination. Tempted to take in a Clyde game before the end of the season to see those two in action on the touchline
  11. Could not agree more, Honved. So it was Col Hughes that hit JJ with the lead piping in the study...but the JT did not smell a rat?!
  12. Get Inspector Morse on the case too; every pitch needs a good Thaw once in a while
  13. My reason is much more feeble. Will be stuck on train between Lockerbie and Manchester. Only consolation is the thought of finding a decent mancunian bar to try and listen to radio coverage via internet !
  14. With hair like that, he would never had made it into Jethro Tull though
  15. Did you know that the Brechin FC social club used to have a miniature musician who would play requests for visiting fans? They say the club was well-endowed with cash reserves at that same time.... Yeah, he was a 12 inch pianist ! (the ghost of Benny Hill lives on)
  16. Oh yes, bigger battles lie ahead. But to fight them we need an effective, strong Trust with no baggage, no hidden agendas and no cabals. A clean, refreshed JTB would be essential if we are to have a say in the future of the Club we love. So think of it as short term pain for longer term gain? The Club, Trust and supporters relationships are currently broken and dysfunctional. If it requires a purge in the JTB and/or Club Board to break through the impasse, then it will have been worth it me thinks.
  17. Bring on the beech hedge, cracking away tie!
  18. I too am eagerly awaiting the promised JT statement, once they can agree what they are prepared to say. Let's hope it's out today!
