  1. Legia can appeal, but from the looks of it they have no grounds to. Would seem that the rules have been followed to the letter.
  2. That's an absolutely cracking kit. Hopefully we get that next season
  3. Aye the wee ginger winger. Was at hibs last season. And aye, Danny graham. Pretty sure it was him up front for them tonight
  4. I thought both centre back trialists did ok, number 13 slightly more so than first half. As has been said, osman looks a cracking player. Thought Christie did very well tonight, couple of decent looking balls in. Keenan was alright, good cross and got forward well, but a bit sloppy with some of his passes and beaten a little too easily by his man sometimes. Mcdaid also looks a good wee player as does Wilson. Sunderland XI were nothing special, although that Duncan watmore is a great wee player. If he fancies a spell in Scotland at a club that's not a complete joke, I'd take him in a heartbeat. Defence handled Graham's movement well enough and he's a cut above anything we'll face this season so that's good to see. Overall, pleasing and I'd expect at least 1 of the centre halfs to sign, either would be good enough as a squad player minimum.
  5. £10, or £5 concession I think. Free if you have a season ticket as well
  6. We have a fairly weak defence, but I'd wager than Stevenson, higgy, doolan and lawless/Elliott is as good an attacking force as you'll find in the bottom 6.
  7. No, we won't. No, he's not. Thanks for your input. You can call this rose tinted Archie specs all you want, and I agree he's made mistakes and this transfer window hasn't gone as we all would have hoped but to say "clueless when it comes to assembling a squad" is clearly nonsense.
  8. I'd go as far as to say Elliott has probably made the biggest improvement as a player over the last year or so out of anyone in our squad.
  9. Suppose we'll just ignore the fact that Elliott and magenis play entirely different positions and roles to a team then. Lindau: I agree that both bannigan and Fraser are better players than Elliott is, but playing both of them, and osman would require a change of formation. If we were to not do this, I'd say Elliott would do a better job on the right wing than either of them, and I don't think we'd be wise to shoehorn players into the team out of position. The other option would of course be to switch higgy over to right wing and play bannigan on the left, or simply drop osman and play bannigan and Fraser centre mid, which are both viable as well.
  10. What would everyone say is our strongest team if we had to start with only the players available right now out of interest. Assuming we're sticking with the 4-2-3-1, I'd go something along the lines of; Gallacher: SOD/McMillan, aero, Conrad, McMillan/Keenan: bannigan/Fraser, osman: Elliott, Stevenson, higgy: doolan. Obviously depends how good Keenan is, but if he looks promising I'd far rather play him there than shove McMillan out of position, who I would then play at right back. IMO, that's no weaker than any of the first 11's of the teams who we'll be competing with in the bottom 6 this season, and although I take the point that if we get a few injuries we could struggle, that goes for any team in our position. I agree that there are areas which need strengthening, at centre back for example, but if pish came to solve, we could field a competitive enough team.
  11. In no way at all have either Kilmarnock or st mirren improved massively. St mirren at best have gone sideways, and killie have lost comfortably their best player who singlehandedly kept them up. Dundee also look to be alright at best, and Hamilton seem to be relying on their youngsters which could go well or could go badly, who knows. Inverness look to be weaker this season, and if stevie may goes to Rotherham as is being said then who knows how st Johnstone will do. It's looking like the league could be a fair bit weaker overall than it was last season IMO.
  12. The josh Doherty suggestion was me, and was entirely a guess at who we could be looking at in response to the twitter rumour.
  13. The most unsettling thing in all this is that there appear to be some rangers fans (not the majority, not even close, but some ) who are basing their views on things like the Israel-Palestine conflict or scottish independence on what football team they support, which is a pretty damning indictment of the world view these guys have.
  14. Could be wrong, but I reckon it's the one welcoming the new physio. Says something about welsh being fairly close to returning, although we never know what close is with him..
  15. Rangers fans singing some untasteful songs at football games. Wow. What a shock. As for the Israel stuff, have the loyalists not long since pledged their support to the israeli's? We may not like it but if they what to show solidarity with them then so what?
  16. Two midfielders who we also needed to sign IMO. Stevenson, if he plays anything like he can and has done, will be a great source of creativity for the team and should mean that we're not so reliant on higgy for a spark of creativity, and osman should provide the cover for the central defence that we lacked so much since Ozzy got injured. I won't disagree that the defence is a weak point, but there were other areas that needed addressing as well.
  17. Good to hear, I wasn't sure but I seem to recall he was on the bench a fair amount towards the end of last season so must be reasonably highly rated. From what you're saying it sounds as if the Honduran boy from Wigan would be ideal for this season with Keenan coming in next. Hopefully that turns out to have some basis and happens
  18. Stephane zubar seems to have a very decent pedigree having played in the league 1 a fair amount although seems to have had a very bad injury last season.. Also played Romanian top flight, which I don't know anything about but would imagine it'd be mainly similar or better quality of players than the Scottish premiership. If true would be a good signing IMO. That would leave us really needing to get a left back in during the next week or so, as like others have said, that is the only position we really need filled crucially. We do need another striker but I'd be happy enough to start the season without one, and while some may want another wide player I don't really feel we need one. Stevenson/higgy will be first picks every week and I personally think that both Elliott and lawless are decent enough in reserve alongside guys like Mcdaid who I can see getting a chance this season. I saw something on the sky sports app last week as well with balatoni saying he thought Keenan could make the left back position his own this season. Couldn't find the actual story (mainly cause I forgot till just now and didn't really look ) but what's everyone's thoughts on this? I've never seen Keenan play but is he any good?
  19. Took the plunge and got one for myself, it looks cracking on. Wasn't sure about it at first but the top itself is good, I think that if the socks had been hooped black and pink that would have been better. Should have gone with pink shorts too, at least they would have matched then.
  20. Don't really know if we can read too much into deila's ability from this, yes it's a bad result but he's at the start of his reign trying to implement a new style of play and make his mark on the team with younger players, which I suppose has to be respected in a way, Lennon never bothered his arse trying to actually play football or develop youth except in a few nothing games. I think that when he's settled in and got the team the way he wants it, Celtic will be a very good side. I could be completely wrong of course, and if I am I'll take great pleasure from them being shit, but I think he'll work out well.
  21. I would say the criticism is more over the way david Beattie told fans he was getting punted before he told the player himself, which is a perfectly valid thing to criticise the club for as it's laughably amateurish. Whether or not he's good enough is irrelevant to that.
  22. McMillan and SOD are very different types of players and as such I think comparison is hard. Yes, they are both right backs but sod is clearly a much more attack minded player, almost a wing back really whereas McMillan is much more defensive minded picking and choosing to go forward much less frequently. I personally prefer McMillan, but I also see odonnell as being a useful option to have when trying to attack teams. Generally I'd like to see McMillan playing against the better sides to try and sure up the defence and sod being unleashed in games we're looking to win against the teams around us.
