  1. That will b the Craig Thomson who gave celtic a penalty against St J for handball, when everyone in the stadium saw it hit the guys midriff. This was quickly followed the next week by giving a free kick to Motherwell after Lionel Ainsworh had been tripped up by his own player v Hearts and to add insult to injury booked a Hearts player for the foul. Looking forward to CT's performance on Sunday... Big team v Wee team
  2. With GS about to name a squad for the friendly against Canada and the Qualifier against Slovenia, surely this would be an ideal time to include big Liam in the squad? I am not suggesting for a minute that he plays both games but surely a part of the Canada game would be a great and deserved introduction to the international set up. I know by promoting his involvement in the Scotland team we are inadvertently teeing him up to be sold, but he is a solid Scottish defender, who is arguably the best in the league.
  3. Think we shouldn't get carried away that we will on Sat. Hearts will be up for it on Sat and desperate to make amends for last night's shambles. I agree that Azeez to start and run them ragged early doors is a possibility, and listening to the game last night it appears that Hibs packed their midfield and bullied Hearts in that area. I was looking for 4 points from Accies and Hearts game and would still be happy with that.
  4. It may just be me but I have been watching Thistle for 50 years and this is the first time in that period that everything is clicking into place harmoniously. The structure at the club from a supportive board, an excellent management team and a youth academy that has never been in place before is like nothing we have ever had before. The supporters are in general behind everything that's happening at the club which when you add all of the aforementioned points makes for a bright future at PTFC
  5. Just looked at Hamilton's next 4 league fixtures after today's game. Celtic A. Aberdeen H. Hearts A. and Rangers A. As well as an away cup tie at Rangers. Therefore a win for us today could see us pull away from them over the next few weeks (provided we get a couple of decent results).
  6. Seriously apart from the obvious football benefits, we are very lucky to have Archie. Never rants, never blames referees, never blames dodgy pitches, just gets on with the job and keeps all at PTFC calm and level headed.
  7. FFS, some people throwing in the towel 3 weeks before the game. Sat game v St J was a canter, I never thought at any point they were going to score, and that with a patched up team. Aberdeen IMO apart from Hayes and McGinn are very beatable, but not if we approach it like a bunch of shitebags and think that we are inferior to the opposition. Positivity is important in games like this, we could / should have been 2-0 up before they scored last week at Pittodrie, so another performance like that, take 1 chance and let's see how we do.
  8. I think we are willing Azeez to score a goal which says something about the player he is. He works extremely hard, is clearly a team player, doesn't seem to go in a strop, but is clearly lacking in confidence when it comes to taking chances. I for one think he brings a lot to the team, but accept that he us a striker who needs to start scoring otherwise the aforementioned goodwill will no doubt wane.
  9. After the game on Saturday, left Pittodrie disappointed at the result but not the performance, we are a good striker away from being a comfortable top 6 side. The rest of our play is very good and even on Saturday where we were set up to be a bit more defensive, we created a number of very good chances.
  10. I still think we might get someone in as the window closing gets nearer and clubs get their targets in or manage to hold on to key players, it frees up others who may be of interest to other clubs. Miles Storey would b good if he became available
  11. I am disappointed that we r not looking like bringing anyone in, however if we were turned down on our 2 preferred choices then I agree that there is no point in going in for someone who is not going to improve the squad (German last season). After the window shuts we still have the loan system available if necessary.
  12. Leeds fans saying they would be prepared to drive Erwin up to Glasgow just to make sure he goes. Doesn't sound great, although I didn't think he played much for Leeds??
  13. I think Archie will go 3 at the back tomorrow night, Lindsay, Barton and Keown. 5 across the middle Elliott, Osman, Welsh, Edwards/Lawless Booth. Dolan Azeez/Erskine. St J posters on other forums saying they are not the best at playing against 352.
  14. Looking at this game, it could go a long way to defining how our season pans out. A victory takes us a bit away from Caley and in my opinion our upcoming fixtures look pretty decent with the exception of Aberdeen away. I would start with Cerny Barton Lindsay Keown Elliott Edwards Erskine Welsh Booth Doolan Azeez Subs. Lawless Amoo Dumbaya McDaid McCarthy Ridgers AN other
  15. Is it just me being paranoid, but surely Ross County's game v Celtic being played on 16th April on TV which is the last game before the split gives them an advantage 're the result they may need to get into top six. Everyone else plays on Sat 15th, therefore all other games will be complete before County play Celtic. I know we might say they are playing Celtic and will probably lose, however chances are Celtic will have won the league by then which puts a different slant on things. Like I said at the start its maybe just me being paranoid!!!
  16. Ha ha, clearly a wind up, guessing Sabbath is either a Clyde fan or just a f#nny
  17. Continuity is a great thing in football. 3 games same team (injured goal I apart) has got us 7 out of 9, so I think unfortunately for Erskine he is on the bench. I am Archies biggest fan, however in the past if there is one thing that has annoyed me is his insistence in changing a winning team when playing against Celtic / Aberdeen, to try to counter their threats, instead of keeping faith with the guys who have got us on a roll. So same team for me on Friday, with luxury of bringing on Amoo or Erskine if needed
  18. Think Abs will be fit, therefore it should be same team again apart from Stuckman for Scully. There is no way you could drop anyone at all from the team that played on Wednesday, there wasn't a failure across the park. Also with the opportunity, depending on how game is going, to bring on Erskine, Amoo or Gordon.
  19. If Azeez was a prolific goal scorer on top of the other great attributes he has, he wouldn't be playing for us.
  20. Apologies BB, it wasn't meant to sound derogatory towards JHS, I was trying to make the point that on Sat the JHS were singing Archies name when they don't always get involved in the singing at games, emphasising the fact the most of us are happy with Archie and that the half dozen or so on here who seem to want him moved on are in the minority. No way was I inferring that the NS was better than the JHS, can understand it could be interpreted that way though.
  21. Really when you analyse the posts on this forum , there are about 5 or 6 people really disgruntled with Archie and the way things are going at the moment. That versus the amount of people at the game on Saturday singing Archies praises even in the sweetie wrapper JHS, therefore if this forum gives these people a wee opportunity to vent their nonsense the rest of us should just accept it and remember that the real voices are heard AT THE GAME
  22. Think the bile spoken on this forum about yesterday's game is way OTT. Dumbaya, Bannigan, Cerny, Lawless, Erskine all missing, 5 certain starters in our team and people on this forum who clearly don't go to every game spouting absolute crap about performances need to have a lock at themselves. Dundee without Hemmings, Stewart and Harkins are understandably struggling as you would expect, however idiots on this forum don't apply the same logic to us....The difference between us and Dundee is that our players will be back Get a grip
  23. We played well today, but with both of our creative players out injured then it was always going to b difficult. Think you have to credit Archie with changing the formation and if we r honest the goal we lost today came from a bit of quality from a player of quality
  24. Realistically, any league 1 side can pay much more than we can therefore I think it will depend on whether Archie thinks he will improve his career down there, which I think he will
