  1. I think they pretty much said that in the video. Certainly not by cutting costs. Only by increasing revenue and/or donations. well here
  2. Any business that says it’s dependant on increasing revenue and donations to survive is in danger of going bust.
  3. Nobody has said there was but it’s a sticking plaster not a solution .
  4. If you say there are no costs to be cut then you have to look at strategic issues like these…..perfectly reasonable.
  5. I think that’s pretty much admitting that fan ownership in its current form is doomed to failure.
  6. It’s why we need investment that is the question ……. and if fan ownership can’t deliver a sustainable business model in the championship then let’s be honest about it.
  7. We need to cut through the ‘we can’t cut costs narrative ‘ …..yes we can it’s just that we choose not to. If the club went into administration you watch the costs getting cut. to say non playing staff costs have no scope to be cut is even more bizarre ( and from an accountant of all people) I get it’s painful and unpleasant but let’s not pretend it couldn’t be done. It was stated we will lose money in 23, 24 and 25 and we could add in any other year as we lose money almost every year
  8. We will lose money in financial year 25-26. Being a bit better than the other guys isn’t good enough. It’s pretty easy to say rather than break even we are going to lose £200k+ in a promotion push …..all those in favour ….. Not to be too flippant my cat could have worked that out and he failed his accountancy exams
  9. Financing the club is simply matching revenue to costs which apparently is extremely difficult.
  10. So having watched the edited highlights …… we will lose money in financial years : 23-24, 24-25 and 25-26 at an average of over £200k a year to a total of £640k. At that point tranche 1 and 2 will be gone. part of this can explained by the Board , to use Woodstock jags technical term, ‘taking a punt’ this season to win promotion in what has been assessed as a potentially easier season in which to do so. We can all have our opinions on how well that is going so far and how wise a strategy that is. the ‘speculate to accumulate ‘ strategy is a well worn one in football and it has on rare occasions worked but mostly it doesn’t. it would have been appropriate for this to have been stated and acknowledged publicly earlier rather than emerged the way it has. One could argue it should have been voted on by the trusts members as it is a strategy that by definition carries significant risk. so if we don’t win promotion this season then in entering season 26-27 we will need to have balanced the books without any external financial cash injections and the club finances will need to be on a sustainable basis. ( whatever that means ). And although there is no room to cut costs today ( as stated at the meeting by an accountant ) there will be then……which is frankly ludicrous. Let’s hope the revenue generating ideas work….
  11. Out of all three cups in the early rounds is very poor as well as costly. Not been a great season so far.
  12. I think I any profit was budgeted for we would have been told. It’s a small loss.
  13. Which is another way of saying a small loss so I think my comment is accurate.
  14. In fact he told me I can’t sell them , borrow against them or exchange them…..they are totally valueless like your comments
  15. I’ve just told my financial advisor that my shares are not assets …..he’s still laughing
  16. Hilarious … just admit shares are one of the few assets we have to sell…, ask Donald McClymont
  17. Shares are considered financial assets and exchanged as in our case for cash. Your welcome.
  18. Well there might be agreement then … if we can’t run on break even under any ownership then fan ownership won’t last as the only way to cover losses is to sell assets ( the ground , shares ) in return for cash .
  19. Therefore there is no plan at present that has been presented to show how the club will operate sustainably on a break even basis. Not good .
  20. No …. Lenzie Jag did but you could always say it’s not true …
