  1. Imo the main objective for this season was to get to the play - offs and take it from there. We managed that and improved on our final league placing from last season. Wasn't at the game and can only comment from what i could see on tv, but for me none of the non regular starters staked a claim to start against Airdrie.

By some sections probably. There's been a few on here having a go at the number of chances he's missed after some games. For me rule of thumb is do you want a player playing for you or against you. Id definitelyrather have him in the team. I can't imagine too many defenders look forward to facing him!

Agree,Scott McDonald was also that type of player, didn't want to have him play against us, but was very good for us.

Was Aero injured? Well other than the injury he's been carrying all season. I took that it was a substitution to give O'Reilly minutes and Aero a rest.

I noticed he was holding the back of his left leg about 5 minutes or so before he came off.

Excuse my self indulgence but having attended estadio firhill since 1956 I think you should bear with me. I have been struggling with a vile illness for three years now so I don't meander up the garscube road with the fleet footedness of my youth. Yesterday afternoon my family (all of whom except my wife are Ayr united fans) treated me to an afternoon in hospitality. There I met my old pal Denis mcqude plus countless other jags' fans. What makes us unique? People like Robert Reid, players like daft Denis, and Molly stallon who ran firhill during various regimes. Owing to illness my 68 year fascination with firhill may be drawing to a close. But, by jiminee, how I have loved my near ,seven decades at estadio firhill. And so, to those who follow after, there will be ups (precious few) and downs (far too many) but the maryhill Magyars are unique and however it came about we are so, so lucky to be part of the jags' family

Again, excuse me, I am approaching 74'and I had a few drinks in hospitality. I thank you one and all for reading this and, as we used to say in bygone eras... FIRHILL FOR THRILLS...

Couldn't have put it better myself. Glad you enjoyed your day and hope you have more to come. Once a Jag always a Jag. :fan:

  5. A draw a fair result, both teams had chances and failed to take them, couldn't tell if Graham was offside when he put the ball in the net seconds before half time. Neilson was very poor. Thought the ref was ok.

A point that all but sees us 3rd and another clean sheet.

Great day out in hospitality so well oiled back home.  Echo others above,  first half fairly evens but 2nd half took em apart.  Love Mcbeth and looking much more solid.  If possible would see no harm in Dowds returning for play offs.

Will usually moan at em but thought ref ok today as well.

Glad you enjoyed hospitality. Watching the snooker this morning John Virgo said 'a good ref is one you don't notice' and for me today's ref was like that, not often you can say that about the officials in our games.

  7. First half we shaded it and just deserved our lead second half we struggled and gave the ball away a number of times, Fitzpatrick taking the ball to the corner flag and trying to waste time with about 15 minutes to go summed up or second half performance. McBeth MOTM for me. An important 3 points and another clean sheet. ICT did not look like a second bottom team.

  8. A number of teams could still make top 4. For example a Morton win today they could go 4th on the other hand Morton lose and ICT win at Firhill Morton would drop to 8th, with only 2 points between them and 9th placed ICT, albeit Morton have a game in hand. As for us we just need to keep winning and let the teams below us get on with it.

  9. A very important and imo a well deserved 3 points yesterday. Some teams who only a few weeks ago looked as if they would be playing to stay away from the relegation play off position have now put themselves in contention for 4 th. Praise for whoever thought of putting the advertising boards a bit closer to disrupt Morton's long throw tactic, which we dealt with very well.

  10. Well deserved win. Graham took his goal well. McBeth did really well at centre half, unlucky not to get a clean sheet as we stood up well to their long throw tactic. Strapp wanted to dismantle the advertising boards every time he took a throw. Hope this win gives us confidence and we keep in 3rd place.
