  1. Thanks Jagfox and I hope you are correct, but the first game in the competition is our game at home against DundeeUtd.
  2. This is the competition for Shea Gordon's home top that was sponsored in Robert's memory. The competition is free to enter and everybody is welcome to join in. The rules are simple. Everybody starts with 3 life's and you predict the score on Thistle games. If you get the score correct you get an extra life. If you get the outcome correct your life's stay the same. If you get the outcome wrong or miss a prediction you lose a life. The winner is the last competitor who has at least one life left when all the others have none. The first game you need to predict on is the game against Dundee Utd 9/3/19. All predictions must be posted on this thread at least 5 minutes before kick off. Good luck to everybody.
  3. Agree. Maybe I have missed it, but I haven't seen any board updates this year. Also I would not be surprised if we stay up that Caldwell will be praised by some on this forum for saving us from relegation.
  4. Feel its a must not lose game. If we were to lose this after our collapse in Saturdays game, I would fear another horrendous run, that will end up with another relegation. As usual it depends how the game goes. Before yesterdays game I would've settled for a draw. At half time nothing less than 3 points. 2-3 down would've been happy with a point. The roller coaster ride of supporting Thistle summed up in about 96 minutes of football.
  5. Agree. Big chance missed yesterday. If we would have held onto the 3 points yesterday, we would have put pressure on Morton and QOS. Instead we lose. We go bottom. Pressure back on Thistle. Success for us this season is not to get relegated.
  6. If what you say is right, with 11 games still to play we should end up about 7th/ 8th at worst in the league. Hope you are right.
  7. Not signed by Archibald, so he must be a good signing.
  8. The day after Peter Tork of the Monkees died we woke up 'believers', but by the end of the game we needed 'cheering up'.
  9. Ran out of likes again. Caldwell has stated our fitness has improved under his management. Didn't look like it yesterday. We have to hope as others have said the second half yesterday was a blip and maybe a wake up call to players and manager. We can't just walk on the park to get a result, even if we are 2-0 up at half time. A football game lasts for 90 mins plus injury time.
  10. My point exactly. Why have him on the bench, if he is not going to get any game time?
  11. That game came to mind at half time today. A few fans said to me we were closing in on a play off place. I said we hadn't won yet and if there was to be more goals in the second half it could prove important. If we scored and made it 3-0 hopefully that would be game over. But if they scored and made it 2-1, depending when it was it could end up being a different result. Well we all know what happened. If we don't want relegated we cant repeat that second half.
  12. Some on the forum have spoke as if Caldwell's tenure only started in January. We have of course picked up 11 points from the 6 league games we have played since then. But in reality he has been in charge of 16 league games and in that time we have picked up 16 points. You don't have to be Rachel Riley to work out that makes an average of 1 point per game. We have 11 league games left and if we were to continue with that average, we would end up with 36 points. I don't think that would be enough for us to end up out of the bottom 2. We need to hope that the second half (non) performance against County is just a blip and we manage to get back on the rails and playing the way we have done for the majority of 2019. I think we need to look to get at least 15 points from our remaining league games. That needs to start on Tuesday night at East End park, as another defeat could see us hit another downward spiral and we know how long we took to get out of that the last time it started.
  13. When Roy and Mansell get on before Coulibaly, why do even bother listing him as a sub. I think it is obvious we have no intention of playing him.
  14. Remember that Ptd. Hazard flapped at a cross ball and then fell flat on his face. Don't know how County didn't score from it.
  15. At half time it looked as if we had turned the corner and on the way up. But after the second half it looks like not a lot has changed. Our defence looked like they hadn't met each other in the second half. Tuesday is another big game. Defeat and it looks like we are back to the Thistle before January. Lets forget talk of getting into the top 4. Sadly Success is now not suffering a double relegation.
  16. Hope a big Thistle support turns up today. Lets get right behind the manager and the team. C'mon the Jags.
  17. I am sure I read on the official site in the last week or so that Dools is now part of the coaching team for reserves.
  18. I think there could be a few reasons we have hung on to him. We couldn't afford to be paying Caldwell off while we are still paying our previous management team. The Chairman didn't want to admit they had got it wrong. They had confidence he would turn it around, even though it took longer than what they expected. Whatever the reason we now seemed to have turned the 'tanker' around and hopefully heading in the right direction and calmer waters.
  19. 2 well worked and taken goals.
  20. Agree with most of this. But if we did go down I wouldn't stick with him. We are now in the position and playing well enough that this should not happen.
