  1. There were as usual a load of fans walking in the road. I don't think anyone was expecting traffic. The driver of the mini involved in the incident did seem to be going too fast given that people were on the road. Wouldn't have occurred had the normal road policing been in force. Fortunately no one was injured.
  2. Four points from six is good stuff. Taylor was superb and looks like a great signing. Shame about the three soft goals we gave away today though. We failed to get a grip in the midfield, Jimmy Craigen was definitely off form today. Fox had a bit of a shocker too. I thought the 4-4-2 worked well when Dools came on.
  3. Almost ran the guy down a bit further up the road. He chased the car down to the lights to have a word. The driver had been causing problems before the almost accident. Was sitting full length across the Firhill road at one point causing a jam then decided to try to drive up past the Stadium . The police stopped him so he then decided to head back down toward the lights almost squashing the guy in the process. Don't understand why today the traffic was allowed on the Firhill road while people were leaving the match.
  4. Bang on Lindau. I'm a ST holder and happy to pay £5 ...fair all round.
  5. No vouchers needed for ST holders Scamps. No additional charge for ST holders for the game.
  6. Agreed - Definitely a rethink needed by the club. Fairness and goodwill first and foremost. Also on the next pishing wet game day how many pay at the gate fans will stay at home in case the same situation arises again?
  7. LIB You're right about the reduced benefits of holding a ST. It seems to me though this is about fairness to everyone who paid either through ST or at the gate for the original game. I as a ST holder get to go to the rearranged game FOC while another Jag has to pay an additional £12 . Total cost OF that fixture to me £20 cost to A N Other Jag £35. To my mind this is ridiculous. This two tier pricing approach for a rearranged game will cost the club more in goodwill than it will gain in £s at the gate.
  8. That does nothing to rectify an unfair pricing policy for this fixture.
  9. The club is doing itself no favours by treating ST holders like me differently to pay at the gate fans who hold a voucher from the call off. Either both should be free entry or both say £5 to cover costs. Fair to all who attended the call off.
  10. As a season ticket holder I get in free to this rearranged game. So why the hell are club charging £12 for non season ticket holders who got a voucher from the original game? Surely admission for those folk should also be free. Grossly unfair IMHO. A very low crowd in prospect.
  11. The club act on advice from the Police Football Intelligence Unit. It would seem therefore that other teams pose no significant risk from flare related incidents. I guess flares have found favour with Celtic fans because they see it in the flesh on their European travels. Let's hope the novelty wears off soon anyway. Enjoyed the exchange of views potty- trained. Hope we are all celebrating a jags win come the day.
  12. Yeah we're saying the same thing. The safety cert has been granted and we are responsible for meeting the requirement. In this case Thistle are moving the Celtic fans because they have been specifically advised of an additional risk not posed by other visiting supporters so are erring for this fixture on the side of caution. Hence jags fans suffer in this instance. Without doubt if the police had advised that other visiting fans carried the same risk then the same would happen again.
  13. The lawyers would have a field day arguing over the liability for that horrific scenario. However my understanding is that If the club is granted a safety cert for a stand then a suitable risk assessment has been made by in this case the police/(or Glasgow City council). The clubs duty of care would extend to enforcing the requirements of that safety certificate eg occupancy numbers, stewarding, ensuring safety equipment and procedures are enforced etc. In the case of the Celtic fans the club have been specifically advised of additional risk which if it failed to take into account would be a duty of care issue. Since no advisement specifically for hearts, hibs and Aberdeen has been given then the club would meet its duty of care provided it enforced the terms of the safety cert.
  14. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/celtic-fans-firhill-stand-ban-127758n.21371272 The original story in full.
  15. Not guessing at all..the police/ safety carried out a risk assessment re Celtic fans and said there was a risk to be addressed. The club addressed it. The police/ safety considered there was no risk from other fans so there is no risk to address. Maybe DB will recover by producing a banner saying : Fans, listen to David Beattie, the Police and Safety Experts.
  16. It seems the police only consider this an issue for Celtic which is what the chair/board addressed. If the police consider other fans don't constitute a risk then I guess the club's duty of care has been authorised/overridden by a higher office. I think personally it's great that away fans are in the main stand ...the atmosphere is much better. As to the banner ...the inference of the wording is that David Beattie considers the fans an irrelevance. Seems to me he's worked pretty hard with the board to get this club sorted and back in the big time. I'm sure he was delighted to see the written acknowledgement of his hard work broadcast over the UK, and expect that would encourage him and the others to continue to knock their pans in for the benefit of the fans. I share everyone's annoyance at the Celtic accommodation situation but I think the criticism of the board has got a bit out of hand.
  17. The chairman is on record as having said the safety cert issue was raised by the police in relation to Celtic specifically. Hey ho we only have his word for that. It is very annoying that the jags fans are being moved for this one fixture but it's a bigger pity that a banner slating the chair were seen on TV on the same day he had secured a fantastic investment for the clubs future, and given the great strides Forward the club have made under his leadership.
  18. Was the issue with main stand not determined preseason by the police and a safety cert was dependant on the Celtic fans not being accommodated there.? As for the JHS moves then this of course if financially driven, but if the club benefits as a result then is that not a pragmatic decision?
  19. Maybe the extra cash generated from more away fans might help strengthen the team giving a longer term benefit?
  20. All the more reason for him to stand down in shame for presiding over a monumental list of disaster
  21. Yeah. Beattie' stewardship of this club is nothing short of a disgrace. I mean what's he done during his tenure apart from stave off a Save The Jags 2, bring financial stability, introduce a free entry scheme for u16 s, promotion to the SPFL Premiership, and secure £750k investment for the development of a youth academy? How he now has the cheek to ask people to move seats for one game and charge an extra £5. A shocking performance. Beattie Out!
  22. Celtic had the bulk of the possession but were firmly toothless upfront against a well organised jags defence. We moved the ball nicely , worked hard and were very mobile. Super passing move for our goal and well finished by mcaleer . A very good team performance and some cracking individual displays as already posted. Looks like we've a good formula 1st team and u20s.
  23. I think the club gets billed for a fire brigade call out?
