  1. Thought Stanway was in as it was an inexperienced team we were facing. Against Falkirk, I thought he looked a bit lost, but maybe it’s a whole team working better thing as opposed to who is in the opposition.
  2. Ah ok. His name must be familiar for some other reason.
  3. Agree with you about Fitzpatrick-he seemed frightened to take on the defender. Maybe he is carrying an injury as he had to come off after 60 odd minutes?
  4. It is funny how we can see things differently. I didn’t really see anything particularly good or bad from Robinson, but I thought Ngwenya always allowed them to make a cross, which I don’t think is a good thing in a defender.
  5. Was that not the ref that McCall had a rant at and later had to apologise to ?
  6. They brought forward a midweek game scheduled for October, I believe, to last Saturday when they both had a free week. Makes sense.
  7. The way we sat off them with 30 mins still to go, I was worried 3 wasn’t going to be enough.
  8. Wondering whether McKenzie could play that defensive mid position. He’s already had to slot into a defensive role when covering for McMillan and midfield is his preferred role. It’s maybe not so much for him to adapt to.
  9. Being more pedantic-as long as the other team doesn’t score.
  10. OK, so PTFC Trust didn’t get rid of him because he was associated with Jlo Board. On the other point, though, there can’t be many original 5 PTFC Trust that the shares were handed to left and with the new direction that is set, don’t you think that the others will be gone in due course ?
  11. Because presumably he was associated with the previous regime and it looks like everyone associated with that regime is being pushed out, including the original directors of PTFC Trust. Isn’t that what you want ?
  12. You keep saying the same things without providing the evidence. It doesn’t matter when the situation was stabilised, the actions that the board took stabilised it and if that took the chairman inputting cash, so be it - that’s what you expect in times of need ! You are right people are entitled to be treated with dignity and everyone has questioned the timing of the announcement. Wouldn’t the world be perfect if everybody treated everyone else with respect.
  13. The relevant bit of information that we don’t know for certain is what the contracts said regarding termination. Also, the way JJ is putting it is that the ONLY thing that the board were doing or planning to do was sack McCall, which I think highly unlikely. In fact, in one of the periodic videos, one of the Directors said that by the time that the full extent of the situation was made public, after the Ross County game, the situation was stabilised. So whatever actions they had put in place were working.
  14. No it’s not. They didn’t have to put any money on it and only had to wait a couple of weeks to see if we could win a cup tie and get a good draw in the next round.
  15. There is another way of looking at it. We had a home draw against lower league opponents in the cup in January. The Board might have said let’s wait and see if we win and we might get lucky with the next round draw that will give us some more breathing space.
  16. That’s the thing, though. Probably 6 Thistle managers, not to mention one Aberdeen one, thought he was good enough to get contracts.
  17. How do you know what they were paid ? Were you copied in all the correspondence ?
  18. He has been a legend for 10 years ? That’s ridiculous.
  19. So why has he been a constant in just about every Thistle team for 10 years ?
  20. I always felt that McCall’s dismissal was more than football related. We knew there were financial issues, we just didn’t know how bad they were until after the Ross County game. Maybe, if we had beaten Rangers he would’ve have kept his job. Maybe you know more or McCall’s take on it. You don’t sacking him and his 2 assistants was dealing with the financial issues ? That’s how businesses usually do it.
  21. We were ruthless in the sacking of McCall - you didn’t like that.
  22. So you do think an other manager would have taken us to the playoff’s. Who is the filter younger Bannigan type player ? I agree with you about the ST’s, but if we had slithered to 7th or 8th we wouldn’t have got to nearly 3,000
  23. I think you need to ask yourself whether you think any other manager would have got us anywhere near the playoffs let alone the final last season, given the circumstances the club found themselves in. One of the things that Bannigan does is make himself available to receive the ball and most of the time finds a Thistle player with his pass to continue or start a move. Time may be catching up on him, but I think he still has a part to play.
