  1. It's not a big deal if I am wrong! I genuinely hope I am and will happily self-flagellate with an open apology.
  2. Have I missed this? If so, so has the official site. Given that STs were originally scheduled to go on sale a couple of weeks ago, why the further delay? There are many potential answers, but IMVHO only one really credible one. It could be that the workload at the office is delaying things; It could be that there are cost implications in the arrangements put in place following the fans resistance to the plans over relocation and these now need to be built into the pricing. (Although one might, naively, have hoped that this would have been disclosed at the meeting on 16/05!) It could be that the rumoured inflation-busting increase is considered a little too toxic to disclose in the wake of the last PR debacle. (NB Inflation is currently running at 1.8%.) It could be that I am entirely wrong and that stories of a 20-25% hike in costs are purely mischievous rabble rousing by “a small group of malcontents” © Gery McNee 1996. It would, however, be nice to have my error confirmed in order that my apology can be lodged as publicly as my suspicions.

  13. Given that the SPFL rejected proposals that teams entering administration be automatically relegated, Sevco – or whatever they are called today - could hardly have a “better” time to go bust again. The punishment for a second administration in five years is a 25 point deduction. Courtesy of serial financial doping, they are currently twenty one points ahead in League One and likely to extend that lead to the requisite twenty-five in the near future. Having taken out what someone on the thread correctly described as “a corporate pay day loan” a cynic might suggest that they have this safety raft well within reach and are ready to hop aboard if necessary. It would, of course, be a scandalous and shameful manipulation of a system which – purely by coincidence – has declined to sanction automatic relegation but instead imposed what would be a near fatal penalty for most – but not all – clubs! Mind you, since when did scandal and shame impact on those who tread the corridors of power in Mordor?

  21. I was one of 12 Jags fans at Julicuppen. As far as I know, only Alan Dickson and I are still Firhill ever presents. Still got the programme from Julicuppen and friendly v Gayvle that followed. Will scan cover and post when I can.
  22. I have absolutely no recollection of this and it would seem "strange", if it is true, that the subject of the abuse went on to play for Thistle. In fact the only incident I ever recollect of racist behaviour from so called Jags fans came when a mob brandishing a red and yellow union flag brought their unwanted fascism to a couple of games in the late seventies (Rugby Park being one of the venues) but am happy to report that their stay was both brief and painful as they were unceremoniously hunted by real Thistle fans.
  23. By a process of elimination, McFedris and I think it's at Celtic Park 1966. Trust me, you don't want to know the score! Above may be what is technically known as mince! Gray - season 65-66?
