  1. Will be making my views known to the club early this week. A travesty.
  2. Erskine hasn't been great since we got him back. Higgi is a far better player. I would however disagree that he was awful today, he was average and lost the ball a lot. Classic Erskine. In my book, I wouldn't mind seeing him with us next season but he needs to improve hugely. He doesn't have a god given right to play in our team. He is clearly far more skilful than Chrsitie, however the big man has more heart and strength than Chris. I'd say we need to get Taylor, the Buaben, then Erskine. He is a great Championship player, but he isn't a great SPFL player and he has a long way to go. I'd have no problem with being signed, but he shouldn't be a starter, if we get someone better then all the better!
  3. Anyone remember this player? Pretty sure I didn't make him up...
  4. Paul Gallacher can have half player of the season. He was wonderful again today. I'd give it to Higgi for the full season.
  5. Steven McKeown Donnelly is a great shout. The half season that him and Buchanan both managed to stay free of injury was superb.
  6. The opinions in this thread make for interesting reading. I am genuinely quite surprised by the slight negativity shown by certain fans (at the meeting) about these ambitious plans. While they will take resource and intelligence, not to mention transparency, to deliver they are what I see a pretty credible concept. On the Plan B point, it appears to be the done thing to have a one track agenda, thus surely about 70% of us, it you read the polls, should be all over this like a rash? I jest. One thing that gave me a comfort from a commercial perspective at the meeting was the performance of Greig in presenting and answering questions. From my perspective, and I know Ian and Dave who were with me agreed, it was really useful to understand what our BOD do. We need to get better at shouting about this. I look forward to Ajay Chopra and Brian Donald speaking with the fans in due course. Also managed a chat with Ian Maxwell quickly after which was useful. Will - on the centenary fund point there are a couple of reasons that the schemes won't merge. First is the structure as noted by Jim, and the second is that this would involve the centenary fund members re-mandating direct debits etc. what this would lead to would be cancellations and lost revenue. The club don't want that. The 2 schemes can co-exist. I'm pretty positive after phase 1 on Saturday. I look forward to reading official report and to further meetings being communicated. I don't agree that an all fans meeting works, this flys in the face of the federation concept. One thing I would encourage is a fans meeting with David Beattie and Archi - something more general - Scott Paterson as well. Onwards and upwards.
  7. Will post a more full report on events today later on, but I have got to say well done to the club for this event. I thought it was very positive and well done. Questions were answered on an objective basis and there wasn't too much hiding on answers. Special credit to Greig Brown (hopefully that is how you spell it) who seems to have a real good grasp of dealing with people and driving things forward. Even greeting people at the door was a simple but good touch. There is a long way to go here, but a good start. Transparency - critical. And a bit more shouting about what we are good at. We heard today of what each member of BOD is doing. Important to build engagement and trust.
  8. He should never have been near the squad in the first place. He is a decent keeper, nothing more. Gallagher is equally as competent and seems to have more control of the defence (in the main). It isn't the end for him, and a good bit of hard work never hurt anyone.
  9. Kni, I agree with this, and there is plenty more. In responding to my invite received from Kirsty McKee stated that an explanation as to what Brian Donald is actually doing/ever did in relation to TAG would be useful Will, you be attending this weekend?
  10. I generally can't understand why anyone would waste their breath on the Trust. Holds the shares (unfortunately) and does some fundraising (good work). The constant flap around the board rep point is nothing more than someone wanting to get the blazer on, and be some kind of big shot. I can think of one member of the Trust board who has enough bluster and front (and perceived self importance) to fit right in. My understanding is that the Centenary Fund appears to run itself. Much like everything at our darling football club it is run inefficiently but that is where we are. It makes a profit, and a figure of £40k is about right for the year. The draws have become more prompt of late which can only be a good thing. One might ask why the Centenary Fund is not marketed. The simple answer is that the bulk of the contributors or at least a reasonable number probably don't know their money is going in. I would dispute the outgoings figures on the basis that the club don't tend to chase prize winners. In my opinion it would take someone a couple of hours a week to run this properly. While it does run itself as is, the whole thing needs a sensible audit and some form of rationalisation, I wouldn't be surprised if people who had stopped contributing still won prizes. As part of TAG, one of the ideas should be to pass over the general operation of schemes such as the Centenary Fund to the fans. I have volunteered for this in the past and it moved, but unfortunately just like the end of season video it never went further. People were happy to take this on with no payment, taking away a further job from an apparently ever stretched back office function.
  11. Good stat that one. Presume win stats are opposite? Not feelin overly negative to be fair, we were always destined to struggle. I was more looking at it from a board of directors point of view. He shouldn't be sacked. Not yet.
  12. We have been beaten on a regular enough basis. I take the point of many fans that we haven't exactly had the rub of the green etc, however there comes a point when you do start to wonder. Lost 18 points from winning positions (D2 L6) and only taken four from being behind. All a wee bit concerning. A win (any win) would be a delight.
  13. 1 win in 17 games is a very unpleasant statistic.
  14. Almost a year on from the original launch (what has Brian Donald been doing to keep himself busy since then?) it looks like finally we have some progress? My opinion on this as follows: The Jags Trust shouldn't get a single bit more slice of involvement than any other fan group. There needs to be absolute transparency. And an apology and discussions around what happened last year would be a good start. People need to understand what they are getting out. Communications flyer needs to go out with season ticket renewals. There is a brand here which is on the verge of being toxic, in any other line of business it is finished. BUT, this is a football club which isn't ran like a business. There is loyalty way beyond what you find in the general marketplace. It needs to be correctly rolled out this time! Keep it simple. Too many cooks and all that.. No more empty promises.
  15. We changed it last night and it didn't quite work, I would still suggest that we pursued this option at least over the next few games. One point I can't really agree with is that we successfully "wind-up" opposition strikers. Offhand I can think of Samaras, Sutton, May, Boyd, Thompson and Magennis scoring against us into the North Stand. Further, Liam Craig (another one we enjoy to wind-up) has scored into that end as well.
