  1. Don't think that's a bad idea. Certainly help with the queue times on the concourse. I said to my mate at the raith game(where it was bloody freezing) that the club should do as you suggested with with hats n scarfs. It was bloody freezing and think quite a few woulda been purchased and made the club some extra cash.
  2. Trialists were 2 Italian boys, one a keeper and one a left winger named Ivan something. Keeper didn't look too good. As mentioned before on here, jackie wants scully out on loan next season so that's why we are prob looking at a keeper. Elliot scored for us in a 2-1 defeat, nice lobbed finah too : )
  3. An excellent piece. My thoughts exactly.
  4. Is that good news or bad? Anyone know what views these clubs have expressed on the situation?
  5. Scottish football: full time disgrace, part time embarrassment.
  6. Right guys, it's been the talking point all summer. I think we all know that newco should be dumped into div 3 for next season (perhaps not even be given a sfa membership), but what do you think WILL be the outcome come Friday? Got a bad feeling that thistle will be travelling to ibrox next season : (
  7. No It's not about hating rangers, it's about serving up justice. Knowing in your mind that all teams should be treated equally and fairly. I hate this idea of newco being voted in to div 1, and if they are, what would happen if they didn't get promoted to the spl? I'd piss myself. Seriously tho, the sheer incompetence shown by the governing bodies throughout this shows that even after the whole newco thing is sorted, a bigger problem still exists.
  8. How many no votes are required for rangers to be put into div3?
  9. He was training with killie a few weeks ago, but was told he wasn't at the standard they need for the spl
  10. Sorry uberteeb, your way off here. I was making an analergy, but far fetched I know, but still along the same lines. As I keep saying, what god giving right have we got to think we should easily beat queens? They have an experienced team (Johnston, Simmons etc) whilst our team is a young inexperienced one. I'm no really sure what ur expecting uberteeb. Team loses to team from same league in the cup, is not a sackable offence in my humble opinion. Jackie has shown promise and the team has improved. Why ruin all that? These forums are an easy place for idiots to shout and bawl and over exaggerate.
  11. Seen Blackburn this season and they r push. Don't hear the man utd fans calling for fergies head. We have no god damn giving right to assume we should roll over qots (or any team for that matter) without any problems. Today we were poor, no doubt. But they are in our league and in my eyes should be viewed as our equals. Being beaten by your equals is not cause for sacking your manager
  12. Some jags fans have to have a long hard look at themselves. We were poor today, but qots are in the same division as us and we have no god damn right to think we can just turn up and beat them. Always thought today would be tricky. Some of the shouts at the end of the game calling for jackie to be sacked left me embarrassed to be a jags fan
  13. Maybe its just me but DEMANDING an apology from the manager is a bit much. It was a very bad result, we have seen many of them in the past following thistle and I'm telling you we will see them again in the future. I dont really know what your are expecting of the manager. For him to come out at half time and publicly apologise on the microphone? Personally apologise to everyone in the Aitken suite? Buy them all a drink to say sorry? Its cup football, shocks happen. Thats the beauty of it. Much better teams than our have upset my minnows in the cup. Its not as if we are out the cup. I fully expect us to head through to the next round 2morro. Lay off the manager. As everyone keeps saying, he's less than 6 months into his new career.
  14. Killie won 5-0. Didnt stay too long to watch it due to the monsson rain but it looked like killie had a fairly strong team, and we were playing young boys. could be wrong though. PS: for the record, im told we did concede a penalty.
  15. Spoke to a few guys from Killie and they have told me that the Harkins deal is a free, despite what the /dfc website say. So we wont be recieving any sell on fee
  16. OOOHH!!!! One thing i forgo to add, jaggy mac played today, in defence in a back 3. Played well too.
  17. Hey, thistle were playing kilie today up at the glasgow science parks. I'm glad to report we ran out 4-2 winners. Like killie, thistle had a number of fringe players playing. Good performance all round, looked lively going forward. Goals came from Hodge, Bannigan, Burns pen and Grehen.
  18. 2 competitive games, 2 wins. That reads well with me. I can appreciate that they were against lower league opposistion. Lower league teams always raise their game against bigger teams, i suppose that part of the romance of the clubs. I thought Clyde looked a half decent team last week and if they play like that in Div 3, they have got a chance of stepping right back up. They also beat Cowden yesterday, which hopefully emphasises my point. Uberteeb: you were asked the question of propsing a new manager to take over from McCall, and you gave an answer of "there must be somebody", Well who? Sometimes the grass isnt always greener. The club struglled to get out of div 2 a few seasons back and making a bad rash decision (which I tink getting rid of McCall would be) could easily send us back down there. I'm not a fianance expert, but we have had a good few games against rangers in the last few seasons, which have been televised. A nice link up with Greaves. A good sponsership with Puma, with the strips selling better now than they have done in years. Finally recieve very substansial tranfer fees for div 1 standards for Twaddle and Harkins. In his defence, McCall has never seen any of this money to help improve his squad. Continually he has had to work with ever reducing budgets. We are two wins outta 2, and traditionally these cups are sorta still treated as pre season. Why all the doom and gloom? I would ask fans on here to try and reserve their judgement until at least 1/4 of the way thru the season. Personally, I think he is doing a good job. I'll repeat, the grass isnt always greener.
  19. I caught 15/20 mins of this game last night just after half time. Flannagan had a good game (in the short time i saw) and created a few chances. His touches and control were a class apart from some players in our team. Very promisng I thought. Leys get this boy tied down. Grehen took his goal well too.
  20. I actually think the majority of strips on that list are quite nice........What does that say about my fashion sense then??
  21. One that springs to mind is Stephen Watson, ex rangers and st mirren. He only played one game for us during the first dvision of 2001. Two reason for this, he took the biggest divet i've ever seem out of a pitch during a crazy slide tackle in that game. I bet the St mirren groundsman was raging at him. And no 2, he won the ball in the midfield, totally free in space, looked up and layed the ball perfectly off for a saints player. I remember thinking at the time he musta forgot wot team he was playing for that day. That was his only game but it lives long in my memory. To be fair, he probally wasnt a bad player, but he was shocking that day. Another funny story I remember about a dud, was up at starks park (possibly somewhere else, maybe up at dunfermline) when stevie fulton was tackled at the touch line trying to cross the ball, fell into the advertising hoarding and you heard it crack in two. Probally the highlight of his jags days.
  22. Cheers Biggest surprise: 2 pages in, no mention of Darren Brady.
  23. Haud the bus!!!!!! This post I created was meant to be a lighthearted look back at some of the less gifted players we have had. I was hoping it might even bring out some humourous anecdotes about what made these players so bad. However, it seems to have turned into internal infighting. Personally, i think some people need to remember that the forum is meant to be fun medium for us jags fans to stay in touch and communicate. so please play nice
