  1. I’ve been thinking for a few weeks that we need to go 3 at the back. Christie is so short of form that in reality we have no right back. We do have 2 central defenders who are sitting on their arses. Pen rice would make a good left wingback and maybe Spittal on the right. It hurts me to say it, but the other change that needs to be made is to drop Erskine and Doolan. It has been a while since either was able to play for 90 minutes, so essentially that is 2 subs used before the game has started. I hope they can regain their previous fitness but I have my doubts and we may be looking at them as impact players. On emergency loans I think you need to justify to the league that it is a genuine emergency
  2. Am I really the only one who understands Thistle ? That was entirely predictable
  3. Most clubs have a positive reaction to a new manager and there is a honeymoon period with an upturn in form. What worries me is that we are not “most clubs”.
  4. Is he injured ? I haven't seen his name mentioned recently
  5. Pressley has just been sacked by his Cypriot club, so he would be available What would people think about Murty ? I think that he was harshly treated by them from south of the river
  6. I would not think that everyone who applied would get an interview
  7. A name I've not seen mentioned yet is Kenny Miller. As I live down south, I don't know what happened at Livvy, bu the was mentioned at the time of our relegation as a possibility. As a player coach I'm sure that he would get goals and get the attack quicker at getting forward.
  8. Mourinho might be available next week, but I think he might be a bit defensive for playing the Thistle way
  9. That is just plain silly ...... Archie is not going to start Fitzpatrick !
  10. I am absolutely delighted and chapeaux to all those involved in the deal Don't get me wrong, I am under no illusion that there is still a way to go before we see him in the first team. It is a long time since he played a competitive game, so even if his general fitness is good, it may be a month or more before he's match ready. If the management team can do that and he is anything like the guy who played for Killy, we should have some exciting games coming up.
  11. I have a feeling that Storer could become one of those players that opposition supporters hate, but you love to have playing for you. A sort of Nacho Novo or Dougie Imrie type. If he can learn to control the aggression then that could be an asset
  12. 5 minutes since the last goal. What is going on .... Get a grip !
  13. I feel quite positive by that statement. Firstly, by playing silly buggers, it looks as if the Egyptians don't have a strong case and are just trying to delay the inevitable. Secondly, we clearly have the backing of the SFA, so they must be convinced by our case to sign him. I know that the statement came from the club and there will be an element of propaganda about it, but it does look hopeful
  14. To say what exactly ? We are in this until it is confirmed that he can sign, or he can't. To pull out before that would open the door for Ross/United/ICT to just pick it up and after the work that the club has put in, we don't want to be playing against him. Assume that nothing is likely to happen in the short term and just sit back.
  15. Thank god it wasn't the whole of Fife
  16. No. I think that QotS played us very well that day. They closed down Sinclair and O'Donnell very quickly and (recognise the story) we didn't have a plan B. Also, their keeper (Robinson ?) played the penalties very well, even if you don't like his antics.
  17. I think that everyone should just chill and wait for as long as it takes to either get the clearance, or to admit defeat. At the end of the day, if we get him, it's a bonus that nobody expected and if we don't then very little harm done.
  18. He won’t be on any significant wage until he is able to play
  19. We also have to remember that the board has changed since Archie was kept on. I wonder if Jacqui Low will have the same patience. As for Archie to St. Mirren .... No.
