  1. I'm sure he still enjoys a fortnightly jaunt through the vomitorium.
  2. We've even made the Football Economy.com Not that I've ever heard of it.
  3. Similar to above, reading between the lines I don't think it's necessarily the lack of funds to pay the taxman that's brought on the move to administration. It looks more like it's the on going week by week losses. Cynically they can get rid of Chisholm & Dodds, which the fans were demanding but previously was an unaffordable option (where have I heard something similar?). I wouldn't be too surprised if they've already consulted the SFL and been made aware of the likely penalty they'll receive. Perhaps they feel they've a sporting chance of avoiding relegation on a 10 pt penalty or they believe that SPL league reconstruction will mean there's no relegation in our division this season . Once again I say it's the small supply and service companies that are owed money that have most of my sympathy.
  4. Damn! Asked in a nearby pub if I could watch the game on Sunday. I got a no problems but the pub's infested with the local rugby club and even the landlord's an ex prop forward for some Yorkshire side.
  5. Hear hear! They're decent couple of lads. btw I see Jamie Adams will be sent back to his club again. Is he creating some sort of record?
  6. I've attended many JT meetings, meet the Board etc and I find the deeper into the sh*t we are and/or the more controversial the reason for the meeting the more turn up. Maybe we don't really want the next meet to be too well attended .
  7. Off on a slight tangent here but I'm sure it's been clear to many of us that the skill set that's been most absent from the Board for so long has been in public relations. We're now spared the utterances of Cowan & Hughes (as often as not contradictory) so that in itself is a PR coup but what we're now left with is a spokesman said void. Step forward someone from the Trust with exceptional PR & customer service skills and we could be on a winner. Of course ideally from the Board's point of view said person with these skills would also be a lousy board rep, a poacher turned gamekeeper, unable or unwilling to represent the fanbase and liaise with the Trust Board .
  8. Yes, and that's in effect another way of the Board saying that they do not want the Jags Trust to put forward the person best equipped to represent the fans. B.C.G. Jag puts this point over very well in his Fans' Representative thread.
  9. Just a couple of points from what I thought was a most worthwhile meeting. Like others I thought the discussion re the Board rep took up a disproportionate amount of time. However I'm fairly sure we'd be saying the same about Propco if that topic had kicked off the evening instead. My own view about the Board rep is fairly simple. As large shareholders the position on the Club Board of a fans rep should be sacrosanct regardless of the level of membership of the Trust. (Obviously the larger the membership the more muscle but that's another matter.) Further to that I want the fans rep to do just what it says on the tin, in other words to represent the fans. Therefore by far the most important skill required is an ability to fight the fans corner and ensure the views of the fans are heard, understood and as often as possible acted upon. Any other skills the Jags Trust Rep has, welcome tho' they may be, are secondary.
  10. No idea if it's workable but I'd like to see a standard points deduction for entering administration applied in the season it occurs, say 10 pts. The following season a further points deduction based on the terms of the CVA. By that I mean, and I'm just taking arbitrary figures here, no further points deduction for say paying 25p/£, 5 pts deduction for 20p/£, 10 pts deduction for 15p/£ and so on. I feel like others the punishment should meet the crime and something along these lines might deter a club over loaded with soft loans paying out 1p/£. I'm lead to believe at Dens that apart from the taxman there's at least £150K due to other creditors. In there there will be tradesmen and small supply companies etc whose very future existence could hang on the percentage amount agreed on at a CVA. Some punishment system that takes into account the level of misery and hardship those creditors will face should surely be welcome. edited to add- the reason I think the punishment should be over two seasons is that if a 10 pt penalty is enough to relegate a club then a 15-30pt deduction is academic.
  11. Ah, but they hadn't taken the start of the tattie holidays into account. Life can be all the more complicated over on the East coast.
  12. It's good tho' that you and others take the time to post that you can't attend . I hope to be there but my laddie doesn't think he can make it.
  13. That's maybe because they're not signed players beyond this season ie they play for the under 19s but are not contracted players like Colin Stevenson, Lochhead etc. I thought Shaun was actually contracted but he is still quite young so maybe there's an age limit for signing .
  14. I believe our under 17s are playing in that very competition this week. btw here's a bit more about Geoff Brown's position. This wasn't the article I was referring to where he argued that an expanded SPL would in some way dilute his club's income. Looks like he wants his cake and wants to eat it viewpoint re an SPL2. And, Spency, , get real .
  15. Just remembered that Geoff Brown at St J is a likely vote against. Something I read last season. Can't remember where I read that tho'.
  16. Not sure how relevant this is but Walter Smith is very much against the split and is pro an 18 team league. Got the impression when he voiced his opinions that he was speaking for his club.
  17. Really weird season iirc when we only played 26 league games. I missed nearly all the games in what was either the Summer Cup or the Spring Cup think that was the same season we got to the League Cup semi.
  18. I wonder if Central Pk, Cowdenbeath would be deemed SPL ground compliant?
  19. Did alright no glaring errors but he wasn't on the park that long. Don't know his age, looks slightly younger than most of his teammates.
