Yes, yes there is an expectation of that. Because that happens in football. And we support Partick Thistle. And if every game we lost was indicative of the players being rubbish/the manager being clueless/the club going down the pan/the fans losing interest then we, as Jags fans, would be even odder people than we already are. That's not to say that I don't expect or want the team to push further up the league but, in the scheme of things, we're doing not too badly at the moment.

It isn't that the issue shouldn't be discussed, it's that there will be completely legitimate reasons for the club not yet making a further statement (I don't need to spell these out for you). The demand for answers is therefore misplaced, unhelpful and indicative of a general unreasonableness that seems to be commonplace on this forum these days.

Surely the skill is in identifying players who will make us stronger and then persuading them to join us to further their careers? The majority of the credit should therefore be Archie's.

Do the board identify the players? Do they sell the club to the players that have been identified and approached? Do they discuss with the player where they will fit into the team?

Lambie's teams, much as I loved him and them, were largely full of journeyman pros signed up for a season or two at a time. Give me Archie's team any day, even with their frustrating inconsistencies.
