  1. Why do you keep comparing black players with black players? You've done it in several threads now (see recent one about Azeez, for example). We have had diddy white strikers as well.
  2. Anyone able to explain the bizarre definition of a Thistle fan as being someone who is 18+ and has had a season ticket for over three years? I'm presuming there's some sort of legal, rational explanation as otherwise that's utterly ridiculous and alienating, particularly for someone like myself who doesn't live in Scotland anymore (so doesn't have a season ticket) but who still contributes to the club financially in many ways. Anyone got any idea? http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2015-2016/february_2016/partick_thistle_football_club_trust_opens_for_business
  3. Of course players are entitled to support who they like. Also nothing wrong with them going to games (if we aren't playing and those games don't affect us). But to tweet repeatedly about your support for that team (replete with "WATP"-type rubbish and stupid wee Union Jack emojis), after having previously made a tit of yourself on social media, is ridiculously poor form. Given that we stood by him last year when he was heavily punished for his betting antics, and given that the team he is gloating about supporting are our city rivals and will be our league rivals next year, the only conclusion to be drawn is that he's an utter bam.
  4. Anyone else following his Sevco guff on Twitter and Instagram? What an embarrassment.
  5. So as I said, Doolan has started in substantially more matches than Pogba. As I also said, I'm no great fan of Pogba but I accept that he often does a specific job, for which the number of goals scored aren't the only measurement. Doolan is a professional and I have no doubt he accepts this. To describe it as "bordering on criminal" is nonsense.
  6. Eh? We are a club who have historically been in the First Divisin or lower reaches of the Premier (for a few seasons at a time). To say we have been "denied" it suggests we have an inherent right to it, which we don't. Three consecutive seasons of top flight football led by a club legend and with some quality players is, for a club like ours, a relative golden period. I'm amazed that anyone who has supported Thistle for any reasonable period of time could be displeased with our current lot.
  7. On course for our third successive season of top flight football, with a club legend as manager and a collection of some of the best players we have seen in decades (and the return next season of one the most "fun" players, in Erskine, that we have ever had). I would suggest that any Thistle fan who isn't enjoying this time, or who isn't aware that this really is a golden period, or who doesn't view it as "fun" needs their heads checked.
  8. He hasn't though. Doolan has started far more games than Pogba this season. As much as I love Dools, he does go through spells when he isn't scoring and can be ineffectual in a lot of games. I'm not a big Pogba fan but he does offer something different. Every team in the world has competition for places, and no player will play every game. It isn't "bordering on criminal", it's just football.
  9. With Doolan obviously being so annoyed at this "criminal" treatment that he's just signed a long term deal.
  10. No we don't. This is the kind of thing that every fan thinks of their club, but for us it isn't true. There's been many times over Archie's tenure that we have had must win games that we have won. Yesterday wasn't one of them but there we are. I'm already over it, and it's been a great season regardless.
  11. You're absolutely obsessed with crosses. Really odd.
  12. You should have four centre backs in your squad? Maybe if you've got cash to splash. More than happy to have three quality centre backs with guys like Miller who can provide cover if required. Signing another centre back would just mean either sitting him on the bench or mean one of our three quality centre backs would have to sit on the bench.
  13. Because a lone striker's role, when playing with three supporting players as we usually do, involves a lot more than just scoring goals.
  14. Or he's just being positive about the performances of two players who have had stop-start seasons? There's nothing wrong with competition for Doolan, as Dools himself has said, and Pogba has done well in his last few games.
  15. Anyone managed to find a stream?
  16. Perhaps so. Just strikes me as a bit odd if this is meant to represent a new chapter of fan engagement etc., whilst the two fan reps have been hand-picked by the club. I don't want to be overly critical though as, as I said, I'm sure these two will be excellent. As you say, this is perhaps only to get the ball rolling and I'm sure extensive fan engagement and consultation will be forthcoming.
  17. I'm all for this new body, but it does strike me as odd that two people have been chosen to represent the fans without any apparent consultation with the fans. I've no doubt the two chosen will do a fine job, and both look to have excellent backgrounds, but are club-appointed fans reps really fans reps?
  18. Sorry Michael Fish. Let's say two days of frequent rain then.
  19. And you know for sure that they didn't do that?
  20. My post was in relation to the pitch, not communication which I agree has been rotten.
  21. Curious to know what else they could have done. I presume you're aware of everything that the club have done or haven't done re: the pitch? If so please share. It's times like this that us football fans are at our most irrational. The game has been called off with 4 hours until kick off after two days of almost constant rain. These things happen, it's nobody's fault. Communication from the club about the pitch is another matter though...
  22. Call it off now for the sake of Aberdeen's travelling fans? Unless they're walking, I think we can give it a while yet.
  23. Some of the stuff in this thread and elsewhere is ridiculous. Yes, we may well lose tomorrow. Hearts are a much bigger club than us, have much more money, and much better players, so it wouldn't be a massive surprise if they do. Doesn't mean we are pathetic. Doesn't mean the manager is clueless. Doesn't mean we should chuck it before a ball has even been kicked. I do wonder what planet some people live on sometimes.
