  1. Also, the BNP were campaigning on Buchanan Street. It was quite a day for biggots today. Sometimes I wonder about our species...
  2. A good blog post on the Guardian website from Ewan Murray. "The odds are just in favour of Rangers appearing in the tier immediately below the elite, however a deal can be cut to achieve that"
  3. I’m struggling to decide whether the Board’s statement is a barely veiled green light to the SFA - providing they do the dirty work - or the whines of a Board unhappy at being asked to clean up someone else’s mess. I’d like to think it’s the latter, but there are sentences in there that are more qualified than Stephen Hawking. The ‘as it currently stands’ caveat is a concern.
  4. Yeah, it's very much like Looking for Eric. The first half of that film was seriously depressing but by the end it was like a slapstick comedy. Loach struggles to find the middle-ground.
  5. Hi all, I'm looking for information about former Jags midfielder Willie Howie, now with Cumnock, for a blog post I'm thinking of writing. Does anyone have any information, (un)happy memories or amusing anecdotes they could share? Is he still PTFC's youngest ever player, having made his debut at 16, or did Gavin Rushford take this title from him? Cheers!
  6. I'll third this; really enjoyed the film, but then I'm a big Ken Loach fan. This is definitely one of his more optimistic films.
  7. Ladies and gentlemen I give you John Terry. An absolute abomination of a human being. Honourable mentions to: John Hughes Bobby Williamson (who was also my most hated manager pick) Luis Suarez El Hadj Diouf Keith Wright (his face does it) Carlos Tevez
  8. I'm a lecturer in Politics at GCU. Who is your supervisor?
  9. I felt we played okay today, particularly in the second half. A bit of composure from the forwards (and in particular Stewart) and we would have won by a couple. O'Donnell had a torrid time mind you.
  10. Agreed. Okay, he didn't hit the net today, but his touch, passing and work-rate were excellent. We don't have another striker who can turn defenders and lay-off balls at the angles he can. He'll start banging them in soon.
  11. New album by Olafur Arnalds - ...and they have escaped the weight of darkness. Not bad.
  12. Read Magnus Mills' The Restraint of Beasts a few weeks back. Very funny in the blackest, deadpan way.
