    Grass Trimmer

Trimmer/Strimmer, Switzerland/Swaziland, Whatever... Back on topic, does anyone have any recommendations?
  2. And if you click on the Show Results button and then the "View" link, you can see exactly who they were. Not sure if I'll be participating in these "Public Polls" on the forum.

    Grass Trimmer

That's shear rubbish Just to make it clear, I'm looking for a trimmer. I've already got an excellent mower.
  4. As part of the deal that saw a new swing set and climbing frame installed in our back garden, I have been granted permission to purchase a new grass trimmer. My requirements are fairly simple... 1. Electric 2. Works against everything from irregular stone wall to trees without causing damage 3. Powerful 4. A line feed that doesn't jam every 2 minutes 5. Preferably, not more than £50 I would normally go for Bosch, but the reviews are scathing. Currently considering the Black & Decker GL656, but worried because it's Black & Decker. Any opinions?
  5. I've always used www.download.com to find the applications I've needed. Check both the Editor's and Users' reviews as sometimes they are very different. I wonder how long this thread will go before it turns into another "pro/anti iTunes" argument?
  6. Bear in mind that, as someone residing outside of Glagow, if you do convince your child to follow Thistle you automatically lose the right to criticise anyone born and raised in, for example, Dingwall who chooses to follow either of the Old Firm because "it was my (grand)father's team". Should also have said earlier... Congratulations Kenny!
  7. I can't honestly claim to consistently follow any English (or Welsh) teams. I usually choose a Premiership team to follow at the start of each season. Normally, it's one of the promoted teams or one with a Scottish connection. This season I chose Burnley, if only to see how long Owen Coyle could go without blaming a refereeing/linesman's decision for his team's humiliation. To his credit, he managed several months. When he moved to Bolton I lost interest (I still associate Bolton with Sam Allardyce ). Next season I will probably choose whichever of Blackpool or Cardiff get promoted.
  8. Can you? Probably. Should you? Possibly. If you raise your child to be a confident, happy, independent person, they are unlikely to choose to support either of the Old Firm.
  9. 6 minutes 40 seconds in
  10. In 496 BC, King Goujian of Yue organised for convicted criminals to stand as the front line of his army and to cut off their own heads, so as to instil fear into the minds of his enemies. Perhaps we could arrange for posters on the forum who seem to have numerous bizarre ideas, but never the wherewithal to do anything with them, to perform a similar act in front of the away stand at Firhill during the half-time break. Would beat a song any day.

    Tv Programming

    I switched off.
  12. Seeing a car that was worth £1,000 that's had about £5,000 spent "pimping it up" and is probably now worth roughly £1,000. And enjoying the fact that the idiot driving it has to spend several thousand pounds a year on insurance and is still driving round the Edinburgh bypass at 5 miles an hour with the rest of us. And then laughing because the idiot driving it has over-tuned it so he has to hit 3,000 revs in order to stop it stalling in first gear each time he moves 10 yards before stopping again. And then laughing when I notice the damage that's been done to the body kit due to speed bumps, kerbs and the lowered suspension. All hail, Tim Westwood! You made my day!
  13. Sorry, but I was under the impression that, so far, St. Mirren is the only team that Gus has managed. Given that he yet to be appointed anywhere else, you can't really justify criticising him for being party to a managerial merry-go-round.
  14. We never saw that coming
  15. I've been likened to a slightly overweight Henrik Pedersen. It's not really something to aspire to, however.
  16. I wear a pink shirt or tie at least once a week, I know the lyrics to several show tunes and I've been known to give upper-body hugs to my mates. But I can honestly say I've never thought of any footballer in that way.

Agreed. Really? Given that we don't know 1. Which teams we're going to be playing. 2. Which players we'll have available. 3. Which players the other teams will have available. just what are basing your expectations on? If it's our results this calendar year, I'd expect much worse. But I'll wait until I can make a more informed judgement.
  18. Thoroughly enjoyed the bits that I saw when not checking up on my daughter's activities or escorting her to and from the play-park. Well played lads. In a beautiful demonstration of the innocence of childhood, my daughter spent most of the afternoon playing with the daughter of a Livi fan.
  19. Not been in the 3rd Division. The missing team spent 1 year in the Scottish Premier in 1984/5
  20. Morton - Yes. Clydebank - No, they never played in the 3rd division.
  21. Dunfermline have never been in the 3rd Division. Clyde have never been in the Scottish Premier or SPL. ICT, Livi, Gretna and Hamilton are correct. Two more to find.
  22. Another football related one... Since league reconstruction in 1975, name the 6 teams who have played in each of 1. Scottish Premier Division or SPL 2. Scottish Division 1 3. Scottish Division 2 4. Scottish Division 3
  23. I'm going to offer this as a treat for my daughter, honved. If she's interested, would you like a lift? Edited to add - The treat being attending the game, not you giving her a coalie-back
