  1. We will find out who it is on Monday: http://www.ptfc.co.uk/news/2011-2012/february_2012/media_invite
  2. With Valentine's Day coming up and Thistle playing up in Dingwall earn yourself some brownie points by getting those flowers, chocolates, etc through easyfundraising. You can get a gift for the person you love whilst generating funds for the club you love at the same time - a win win situation: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/valentines-day/ If we continue to work together then we can help with the income stream of the club that we all support. Thanks for your support!
  3. Good news for the club. As the loss of macb was classed as a huge loss I don't think it is unfair to call a replacement a huge boost. I don't think that we will be any better off with this deal than if macb had stayed in business but we won't be worse off either.
  4. With it being the start of a new month there is a new competition with easyfundraising. This month you can win an Apple ipad2: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/free-competition-uk/2012-02-viking/ If you are going to do any online shopping this month then by doing it through easyfundraising you can generate some additional funds for our club, it does not cost you a penny more and only takes a minute more to complete your transaction. Thanks for your support!
  5. I promised an update at the end of the month on the figures for Easyfundraising/Easysearch so here they are: Number of Supporters: 28 Total Raised: £123.59 Easyfundraising: £96.42 Easysearch: £27.17 Thanks to all 28 supporters and to everyone who has used easysearch since the wearethistle admin guys registered with easyfundraising. There will be offers and deals throughout February and I will do my best to keep you informed about them. Thanks for your continued support!
  6. As I discussed easyfundraising yesterday let me explain how easysearch works today. 1. Go to the easysearch home page, http://www.easysearch.org.uk/ 2. Enter wearethistle in the search for cause box and then click on the tab that comes up. 3. At the bottom of that page there is a tab that you need to click on to make that your homepage. 4. When you have this set up you make searches as normal but to generate the 0.5p per search you need to click on the link to one of the sponsored results that come up. Again if there are any questions about this please just ask.
  7. No problem. 1. Register with Easyfundraising - http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ (the cause name is Wearethistle Fundraising). You will be asked for your name, e-mail address (you can select not to receive e-mails if you don't want them) and a password. 2. Once registered you don't need to do anything until you want to make a purchase online. 3. When you do want to buy something online (lets say from Amazon) you log in to Easyfundraising then in the "Find Retailer" box type Amazon and you will be taken to a page giving details on Amazon (donation rates, special offers, etc) with a link to Amazon's homepage. 4. Click on the link to Amazon and then do your shopping as normal and log off easyfundraising once you are finished with Amazon. 5. A few days later (varies with different retailers) you will get an e-mail from easyfundraising showing your purchase details and the amount that has been generated for Wearethistle. There is no extra cost to you as the donation to the cause comes from advertising fees paid by the retailers. The above example was for Amazon (the most commonly used retailer) but the process is the same for all the other retailers involved with easyfundraising (you do need to be registered with the retailer as well). Any further questions just ask.
  8. Thanks for clearing that up for me, I don't think that we will agree on the issue so I will just continue to do my thing and let you do yours and I hope we are both successful as that will mean more income for our club.
  9. Just so I can be clear in my own mind, is it the fact that we are using easyfundraising that bothers you or the amount that is being raised? If we generated £4.91 per week through easysearch would you still think it was embarassing? I am genuinely interested as I honestly did not expect that sort of reaction from a Thistle fan on a Thistle fans' forum about a scheme which generates funds for Thistle at no additional cost to those who use it.
  10. Thanks for your comments. The Trust use easyfundraising & easysearch and promote this on their website and in their page in the programme. I will be contacting the club to see if we can get something put on the website and in the programme. There are also leaflets that can be downloaded from the easyfundraising website which could be distributed at Firhill but we would require volunteers to help with that. I will post what has been raised by the end of January so people can see how we are doing.
  11. Well I am obviously going to disagree with you on that but ultimately people can do what they want to do all that I would ask you as a fellow fan is even if you don't agree with us using easyfundraising is not to discourage others from giving it a try. I know that we are not the only club in this division who use it, Dundee benefit from it and they have 295 members who have raised over £2,600 since they started using it. Don't know how much was raised through the clothes collection but I did see lots of bags at Firhill during that period which would indicate that not everyone was against the idea.
  12. I just don't agree with this meaningless games point of view. The remaining games have plenty of meaning as they will determine where we finish in the table, the level of prize money we receive, if we enter the Scottish Cup at a later round next season, are seeded in the league cup plus each home game is an opportunity for the club to generate funds and the more fans who attend the more funds are generated. If you cannot, or decide not to, attend games for the remainder of the season remember that you can still help generate funds for our club through easysearch/easyfundraising (see the pinned thread at top of page for further info).
  13. Only a few day left of this month's competition so if you are going to make any online purchases then do it through easyfundraising so that our club can benefit: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/free-competition-uk/2012-01-matalan/ We can make a positive difference to the club we all support if we use easyfundraising & easysearch as much as possible. Thanks for your support!
  14. At this time of year and with this sort of weather it is very important to make sure that your car is working well and that you have all the necessary equipment in case something goes wrong. Easyfundraising has a section which covers this so have a look and if you need anything remember that you can help our club by making a purchase through easyfundraising: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/home-and-garden/motoring/ If we work together then we can make a positive impact on the club we all support. Thanks for your support!
  15. A big part of a company's outgoings is their energy bill so if you are looking to reduce that then please have a look at the offers available through easyfundraising as they could save you money whilst generating funds for our club at the same time: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/business/energy/ All the money raised through easyfundraising/easysearch goes to the club we all support so the more funds we can generate together the better it will be for the club, and that is what we all want to see. Thanks for your support!
  16. 1 week left of this month's competition which gives you the opportunity to win £250 to spend plus £250 for our cause: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/free-competition-uk/2012-01-matalan/ If we keep doing all that we can do maximise the additional funds raised for our club through easyfundraising then we will really make a difference in 2012. Thanks for your support!
  17. You can raise funds for free by signing up for e-mails from certain companies, ordering a SIM card or numerous other things through the Free Funds section of easyfundraising: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/deals/raise-funds-for-free/ We can really make a difference to our club at an important time if we work together and get the full benefits from schemes like easyfundraising (and easysearch). Thanks for your support!
  18. Congratulations to this month's winners: http://www.ptfccentenaryfund.co.uk/results/january_2012
  19. Never mind that, how did the Camp David (okay Aitken Suite) peace meeting with Steven go?
  20. As well as generating funds for our club with your online purchases you can also do so by using easysearch as your search engine. Each completed (going on to sponsored site's webpage) generates 0.5p for our cause, the more people we can encourage to do this on a daily basis then more money will be raised for the club we all support at a time when it is really needed. http://wearethistlefundraising.easysearch.org.uk/ Thanks for your support!
  21. I was talking to someone at halftime today so was not out in the concourse - how was the catering today?
