  1. December's results: http://www.ptfccentenaryfund.co.uk/results/december_2010
  2. Good stuff, at the risk of repeating myself the calendars are really good quality and very well priced at £5 (Falkirk are charging £6.99 for theirs). Hopefully there will be lots sold on Sunday!
  3. http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2010-2011/december_2010/hospitality_sold_out I was glad to see the Club reduce the prices for this match and am equally as glad that the fans have responded in good numbers - well done to all concerned Hopefully for the remainder of the season (and beyond) the Club will look at ways of maximising the revenue that it can generate through matchday hospitality whilst keeping it affordable for the majority of fans.
  4. I think the point that he was making was that the Club should not have been in a position where it needed that income in the first place, once it was then sharing Firhill with the Warriors became a necessity.
  5. I would hope that they are and that they will be revealed soon so that we can get started in the process.
  6. For this game the Club have reduced the hospitality prices so hopefully that will get a good response but what else can be done to ensure that this game (which is the first of the remaining 11 home league games we have) helps in generating additional finance for the Club? More people paying through the turnstyles will obviously help and hopefully the weather will be kind to us in that regard. I had put an advert on Radio Clyde's "what's on" section a few weeks ago to promote the game and apart from the normal Boxing Day sales our only competition appears to be Peter Pan at the Motherwell Theatre! http://www.clyde1.com/community/communityCalendar.asp?DATE=26/12/2010 If we can get more programmes sold that helps - 40 more sold at £2.50 each generates £100 each game so £1100 by the end of the season. If people who don't normally buy a 50/50 ticket start buying one (or more) that could generate £50 more per game (based on selling 200 more tickets) which is £550 by the end of the season. There are still calendars on sale (a bargain at £5) as well so lets start eating in to that £100,000 on Sunday.
  7. This is where we are in agreement. Clearly the Club needs to raise money in the short term but plans also need to be put in place so that, as you say, we are not in the same position a year or so down the line. Hopefully Mr Beattie's programme notes on Boxing Day, any announcements on the fundraising initiatives and the AGM in January will see the answers we are all looking for come out. Whilst that is taking place though we still need to play our part which does involve raising money as well as asking questions.
  8. Given that the bad weather is set to continue next week is it fortunate for us that the Warriors have a big game at Firhill the next day? Hopefully there will be a joint effort between the groundstaff for both teams which will ensure the game goes ahead. Given the financial position we could do with a large turnout of fans from both teams, good take up of the hospitality offer, etc. http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2010-2011/november_2010/bring_the_family_to_hospitality_on_boxing_day
  9. Interesting comments from a Falkirk fan on their forum, seems to back up what our manager had to say. "I got my triple layers on and was heading out the door at 2.15 when i heard the game was off. Headed down anyway to see the bounce game for a bit. Pitch looked ok from the stand but there were players slipping all over the place, especially far side at away end 18 yard box. After 45 mins, Pressley noticed this and went down to tell the ref (Bullen) to stop things early before there was an injury. Think the bounce game was a bit of a PR stunt but to be honest."
  10. Possibly a local ref did the early inspection then the match ref turns up and thinks "game off".
  11. Seems the fans are being treated very poorly here. Falkirk might be the way forward in terms of playing football but they certainly they are lacking in terms of a manager who represents his team in a dignified way and in terms of infrastructure (this is not the first time this has taken place with Falkirk).
  12. I take it that despite asking if Allan was involved with the company in your original post you either knew he was or are assuming he was? Lets stop talking round in circles and just get to the crux of the matter.
  13. Some more comments from Mr Beattie in today's Evening Times: http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/david-urges-jags-support-to-make-up-the-numbers-1.1074950
  14. Got mine at the Ross County game and was impressed by the quality of them. Agree with the wider point about the Trust making it clear what they intend to do with the profits from the events that are planned for 2011.
  15. When I saw the attendance I was quite alarmed but having looked at the figures for Morton & Dunfermline as well as St Mirren it would appear that everyone has taken a big hit today. Clearly we need more fans to come week in week out but we were not alone in a low turnout this week.
  16. Did he tell you that if there is any future for calendars in Scotland that people should be copying the Falkirk version!
  17. I got mine and it is very good - I can't wait for 2011 now! Hopefully they will be a complete sellout as we are now aware of the importance of generating additional finance during the rest of the season.
  18. I look forward to seeing what the initiative he mentions is, hopefully it is something that will be affordable to all fans.
  19. Point taken regarding Hughes. I don't consider it noble to say I love Partick Thistle, it is a simple factual statement and one which the rest of the Jags fans on the forum say for themselves. It is though, I think, something that gets forgotten in the discussions that end up taking place over who said what to who 4 years ago, who is the new president of the Business Club (who knew who the previous one was?), who will/will not attend games until x,y or z goes, etc. I have no doubt that people here care just as much about the Club as I do even though we may disagree on what the best approach to take on a certain issue is but ultimately we will have to find some common ground and work together for the good of the Partick Thistle - loving the Club seems a good place to start. You may be right when you say the nicey nicey approach has not yielded positive results but can I ask has taking a nasty nasty approach (for want of a better term) achieved a financially stable club with fans at its heart? The current Trust Board recently put out a statement which I felt was quite aggressive and certainly not nicey nicey and it received huge criticism on here. It was always a difficulty (I felt) when on the Trust Board as the more we did to assist the Club (the nicey nicey approach) the more people would say we were poodles, toothless, etc and we could not get their backing. If we then moved in the opposite direction the Club would think "why are you doing that" and we would be marginalised which does not help our members. I feel at the moment that the Club is a very ill patient lying in a hospital bed and the suporters are like two doctors standing at the foot of that bed arguing over what course of action to take to cure the patient. Unless we are very careful the patient will die whilst the two doctors are still arguing over who is right instead of pulling their exerptise and saving the patient. Sorry, I did not realise that I had gone on for so long!
  20. Cowan is not involved with PropCo, Prentice has shares in PropCo but is not (to the best of my knowledge) a big influence in it and Hughes works for Gerber, Landa & Gee who work for the Club. We are at a point where people need to get get over who they like or dislike and remember that we all love Partick Thistle!
  21. Hopefully travelling conditions will be better and we get a good turnout of fans at the game as people have been missing their football (I know I have) plus we need all the revenue we can get.
  22. Although planning permission has been granted there is still a long way to go: http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/jags-delight-as-plans-get-over-first-hurdle-1.1073748
  23. Is that not something that appears in most accounts for Scottish clubs these days? *Edited to attach accounts - thanks to Martin for sharing this. blREX+0L0337-103135_9-05672568.pdf
