  1. Ferreira is on trail but John Baird is the accused.
  2. Maybe we'll be fighting it out with Hibs, Hearts and St Mirren for a place in Europe.
  3. Normally I would agree, there's little point in empty gestures. This just seems like something that's never been addressed in football, is way behind society, and has to start somewhere. Would be nice to think that players, as individuals or as a group, would choose to do it. It wouldn't be an empty gesture to a young guy keeping a secret and terrified of what his team mates might think if it ever got out.
  4. I would like to see the Thistle players take this on. I wonder if they will, and how this will generally be received. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/24104250 Seems that football's stuck in the dark ages on this but I like to belive that Thistle represents a more progressive, "live-and-let-live" way of thinking. And I reckon they'd go well with our strip.
  5. 100% agree with every word.
  6. Yeah, I'm sure the Morton fan knows a lot more about him than those who have watched him for entire games.
  7. Very important to try to get a good result next week, as it would put us in the top half with a substantial gap over the bottom clubs, and facing the games ahead with justified confidence.
  8. I feel for him. I love the guy. The fact that United fans don't like him only puts him up in my estimations.
  9. Agree with this. Maybe too much pressure on him at the moment. We'd all love to have that 15 goal a season striker and on showing so far it doesn't look like Baird's going to be that. This doesn't make him a bad player. First time I saw him was off the bench against Hearts where I thought he looked very good. St Mirren game he missed the odd chance but was busy. Yesterday the whole team offered very little going forward and I don't think he should be singled out. So okay, maybe not the answer to our prayers, but not one to be written off either.
  10. While I agree with much of what has been said, I.e.yesterday was obviously very disappointing, I think there should be an acceptance that it was inevitable that we'd struggle in some games this season. Six games in and four of them have been positive in terms of both performance and, generally, result. Regarding the criticism of Gabriel, this squad has been built on a willingness to give young players a chance. That was a young guy playing his first game at this level, against a strong (huge) team, in a game where the whole team struggled. Seems a bit harsh to single him out. Time for a bit of patience and realism. We're doing well so far.
  11. More toothless and predictable than inept. I think it's inevitable that we'll have days like that in this league. It just didn't happen for us today. But I actually think Aberdeen were good today. And I think their fans would say so. It's important that the team, and the fans, react in the right way.

    Fifa 14

Is this the game where Mark Kerr's a bit of a legend? Up there with Messi and Ronaldo?
  13. You think Beattie just turned up at Jags training and suspected we'd just be delighted to have him? That's what I reckon.
  14. I would hope so given the way he was talking like Naismith was Pele the other night.
  15. Really! Hadn't noticed, but really, no one mentioned DD EM?!?!
  16. If we leave out Welsh tomorrow then this is the best Thistle team I've ever seen (it is anyway). Best player in first two and a half games. We have a squad that can really do things in this league. Come on Thistle!!!!
  17. That is a proper winning entry, well worthy of the competition. Well done! And well done Big Dave. I was on the top of a mountain in a Jags top in June, and tempted, but kinda woosed out. But wouldn't have been worthy.
  18. I think I maybe like this new club even less than the old one.
  19. Never again will I allow my Dad, or anyone else, to tell me how much better the football was is the "good old days".
  20. I'm usually a pretty positive person but I can't really buy into all this talk of "night and day" since Strachan took over. For me we were pretty poor under Levein and we're still pretty poor now, and we seem to be taking too many positives out of "not being humiliated". I like Strachan, and I hope he does well, but I think a lot of the talk at the moment from the tartan army is motivated by a dislike of Levein and a determination to show that he was holding us back. I reckon Levein was average and no worse than that. The national team has suffered from players going backwards, or being injured, and there's not much a coach can do about that. A few years ago you'd have looked at Craig Gordon, Alan Hutton, Stephen McManus, Phil Bardsley, Christophe Berra, Danny Wilson, Darren Fletcher, Charlie Adam, Graham Dorrans, Kris Boyd, Gary O'Connor and James MacFadden and reckoned we'd have a decent team for the foreseeable future, but most of these guys have been injured or lost form.
  21. Forrest was out of his depth too. Don't understand why he's being picked.
  22. Yeah. I think you're probably funnier.
  23. These threads were big news when we were rubbish. Now no one has anything to say to the manager, coz we're not really worthy, Seriously, can't make it but I hope it's well attended.
