  1. Got a feeling McCall might switch to 3 at the back for this which would probably see Flannigan switching with Robertson. Hopefully not though, I'd be happy to go with the team you've mentioned!
  2. Ketterer came with a pretty good reputation. Is he playing for the youths? Haven't seen or heard him mentioned too much.
  3. Pretty rubbish highlights reel but who cares! Rowson was brilliant last night but his pass that led to the Murdoch shot was horrific!
  4. Interesting how different folk view the game. I thought Hodge was decent enough today, he was always showing for the ball and got through a power of work. Cairney was pretty hopeless and I though Rowson was shocking. I can't remember him finding a Jags player with any of his passes. Liam looked sharper and was a little unlucky with his chance. Erskine is useless upfront, doesn't pose any threat and for a "professional" footballer he is so unfit. Usually always gubbed after 60 minutes. As mentioned by others the game was there to be won at half time but as usual the team keeps the exact same shape for 90 minutes no matter what. Perhaps one day we might see a tactical switch that actually works. We need to start scoring or else we ain't getting out of the relegation dog fight anytime soon.
  5. 12 looks like Martin Jol. Bit different looking these days!
  6. from a long second half! If McCall was wanting to make us hard to beat then he succeeded today. It wasn't pretty but until we're out of trouble it will do nicely. Hardie looked a little rusty but it was great to have him back. He was in the Falkirk players faces the whole time he was on and was constantly talking to Doolan and the rest of the team. I'm off to get drunk now! Well done lads. p.s He gets his fair share of stick but i thought Kinniburgh was pretty decent again today. p.p.s Give me Boyle over that petulant twat Twaddle any day of the week
  7. I'd rather have 11 players in my team with Hardie's attitude than 11 saints who are perfectly behaved.
  8. Ok we get it, you love Martin Hardie. Most posters on here love Martin Hardie but are right to be anxious about signing a guy who has had serious injuries in the last year and is past his peak years. I have no doubt his attitude will be as spot on as it's always been and I'm looking forward to seeing him back in the red n yellow on Saturday. Welcome home BMMMH!
  9. Thought we were pretty comfortable until the enforced change when Robertson went off. The whole team seemed to lose it's shape and Erskine wasn't comfortable doing the defensive duties. Hodge is infuriating to watch. He has good movement, always makes space for himself but then takes an age to do the simple bit and pass it! He isn't helped at times by poor movement around him but if he could quicken it up I think he'd be a decent player for us. Bannigan looked useful enough after a nervy start. Doolan took his chances brilliantly and Liam did well to set him up for the 2nd. Liam still looks a bit off the pace, he needs a goal and soon. Jackie Mac was MOTM by a mile. Nice to see a defender know when to press and help his midfield and when to simply sit and mop up. Halliwell was decent as well and his save at the end was top notch. p.s When was the last time a Thistle player rocked up to Firhill in an Aston Martin!
  10. McIlroy will be partnered by McDowell. I agree with the points made about Casey/Rose but I still think I'd have picked Casey purely down to his Ryder Cup record. Has Harrington played many times in Europe this season? I think Monty made a rod for his own back by saying he would definitely pick Harrington on the eve of the Open.

    Cheers for the help boys
  12. Providing everyone is fit then the players who started against Dundee deserve to keep their place. Not sure where Erskine would fit in to a 352/532 anyway!

Thinking of heading over with a couple of mates to play some Golf at the end of September. Anyone know of any decent self catering type places to stay in? Not looking for anything too swanky, just a decent base to crash in.
  14. judging by how happy he was it could well have been both!
  15. His rection at the goal (and at the end) was great to see. It was obvious how much the win meant to him and the rest of the team.
  16. My heart sank a little when I saw Maxwell was starting but he was superb today. Don't think he lost a header all day. The defence as a whole played well, nice to see Balatoni being vocal towards the end, pushing everyone on. Cairney was tireless in midfield and the petulant pull back by harkins and adams on him towards the end proved how good a game he had. Paddy was good today. After his goal his confidence was sky high, he was bombing up that left wing at every opportunity. Much better today but the key now is to keep it up. Off to enjoy some pints
  17. I wasn't meaning my point about him drinking the buckfast to be a "class" dig. More of a point that it's not exactly the sort of behaviour you would expect from a professional footballer, even more so a captain.
  18. Saw him up at Thorn Park in Bearsden a few months back watching an amateur game whilst drinking a bottle of Buckfast on a Tuesday night! Good to see he'll be leading by example!
  19. I'd take Van Zanten and Richie Hastings.
  20. Irvine would be a great signing. Euan MacLean is a youngish keeper but every time I've seen him play he has been murder! I'd probably take Paul Sheerin as well.
  21. Don't know if it's been mentioned but Tony Bullock has signed for Livingston. I'd take Eddie Malone at the Jags, decent left back at this level.
