We need to think of seizing ever possible sporting advantage. Personally I'd give up the north stand if required and get our core support in the JH. I think we could muster 5000 for the game. Maybe I'm wrong. Let's think positive rather than bicker over an extra 60k
I agree that we rarely look as if we are going to score more than 2 meaning games will invariably be tight. That said the defence has stabilised so maybe we just have to expect to grind out results. Frustrating that couilbaye is effectively contributing zilch.
I think the fact that very few fans are even commenting that he is not getting any game time says it all. Presumably he just isn't showing up well in training. If he can't get a game ahead of Roy or Mandela he is clearly not the player we hoped for. Utterly bizarre.
Not a great performance but we limited them to a few half chances. Wind spoiled the game but we deserved to win it. Let's hope for a home draw...nb 4 wins on the trot
Many thanks for that. I'm amazed at that Morton crowd. I could have sworn it was much more. We were going for the old second division title and it was more or less the decider. Won 2 0 and Benny Rooney scored a rare goal. Nb was also at the honved game...17000 does seem high.
The biggest crowd I seen at firhill was v rangers around 1978 I think. 28,000 ish. Difficult to imagine now. Be interesting to know our biggest crowd without the old firm during 70s n 80s? I think maybe v Morton in 1975/76. 13000 maybe?
My first game was either 1969 or more likely 1970. Rangers beat us 2_1 at Ibrox. I think Johnny Flanagan scored. I stayed in govan at the time so it was walkable. My dad was a life time jags fan and he was determined to ensure I didn't support rangers like all my mates. He got his wish.....
