There is a quirk in the rules of Snooker which mean that the highest possible break is unlimited. If the referee keeps erroneously respotting a red instead of the proper colour, and the player pots that red before he has the opportunity to correct his mistake, the break can continue indefinitely.

Why on Earth would you appoint a GM for 5 games, though? Surely you could just about cobble through and assess more thoroughly afterwards without the need for making such a "promotion"?

That's McNamara and Donnelly a shoe-in as the new management team then. Could you really see a GM position being kept (by a guy with not a lot of managerial/coaching experience) for a more experienced manager?

I passed Richard Gough on Byers Road when walking home from the midweek game with QOTS a few weeks ago. This probably has absolutely no bearing on whether he'd be interested or whether we'd take him on, but I thought I'd let everyone know anyway.

I reckon he'll be a tracksuit, if for no other reason than the number of injuries at the moment means he'll need to be on the bench at least!

Grant Russell from STV says on twitter: "For all those speculating about McCall to Kilmarnock, we understand it isn't going to happen. Certainly not in the immediate future." Read into that what you will.

Who should take over depends a lot on the reasons why McCall left, frankly.

I suspect that McNamara has been regarded informally as the senior of that group anyway. Until this departure there was loads of speculation about McNamara and Donnelly leaving together to become a management team (I presumed very much in that order). It was interesting at the start of the season to hear Conrad Balatoni say that it was Jackie McNamara that actually liased and worked to bring him here on loan.

I reckon he's got something lined-up: probably Killie. Cue several of our players who aren't signed up (e.g. Paddy Boyle) and some of those who are, following McCall to his new club.
