Half time is usually when we're at least 3 down and the proverbial horse has bolted. Seems here at least he's making a change less than half way through the game and out of choice. If Buchanan gets sent off and scores 3 own goals I will, of course, lay into McCall for fiddling about unnecessarily with a winning team...
If McCall's making the change out of choice rather than because Archie's injured, it would be interesting to see how it pans out. He normally waits until it's far too late before making a meaningful change to turn a game round.
My source from the game says Cairney's having a howler, that the defence for both of the goals Stirling scored were awful and that Doolan and Hardie look okay when we get up the park.
2-1.
I actually think Doolan is the one with the better football brain and control (and finisher), but injuries ignored, Buchanan is the bigger nuisance through a combination of work rate and pace. In terms of everything else, there's not a lot to separate them.
6 figure annual losses, a bank debt marginally less than £1million, a property deal, selling two players to pay the taxman, falling gate receipts and a budget shortfall likely to lead to a Christmas cash-call suggest otherwise.
I hope said real football fans wouldn't adopt this attitude towards a particular Club in Maryhill if it were to be faced with administration in the near future having lived beyond their means within the last 20 years over two distinct spells.
There's only a year and a half left on his contract anyway so I'm not sure that it would make an awful lot of difference. It's one thing trying to pay compensation for someone with more than 2 clear seasons on their managerial contract, but it's quite another when there's a solitary full season to buy-out.
Can't disagree with that.
I was fairly certain we hadn't kicked off until about 3 minutes past the hour for the second half, but a few around me refused to believe me when I said at half past that there was almost certainly at least 20 minutes to go.
