  1. I'm sure the people of Japan really give a shit whether some muppet in a backwater like Scotland makes a tasteless crack about their predicament. And I'm sure having a minutes silence being demanded at sporting occaisions makes a big difference to their lives and the situation they find themselves in.
  2. It doesn't matter - it was a clear goalscoring opportunity and should have been a red card, like Archibald's against Ross County. If anything I think the ref was equalling things up - I though Rovers should have had a stonewall penalty not long after half time.
  3. That's not the point I was making. I didn't deny he repeated stuff, just that he isn't as bad as other at doing so. All the comedians do it, at least his material was recent to his tour this year. You can't expect a brand new show/jokes every time you see someone or every night they perform. And he isn't as bad as others - Frankie Boyle came out with material in his tour in April I heard 2 years ago!
  4. Bill Bailey was clean - although not very funny. Thought the DVD was pretty laugh free, and I'd been to see him before. Each to their own though.
  5. He was on Live at the Apollo a couple of weeks ago - he was fairly crude in that appearance IMO.
  6. He's much better than other comedians for new material. I saw the show at the SECC when the DVD was filmed and I hadn't heard any of the material, it was brand new - and I think I had seen just about every clip or show he had been on previously. Compare him to that twat Frankie Boyle - I saw his show in April at the Kings. Not only is all that material being repeated on the shite Tramadol Nights, it wasn't funny at the time (just sick) and I'd heard at least 50% of the other material he came out with. I would rather eat a turd than recommend Billy 'I'm a Jags man until I get big enough to admit I support Celtic so not to lose some fans' Connelly.
  7. Prince William is president of the FA - I also believe he is an Aston Villa supporter.
  8. Overexposed, to the point where he's hated. Remember the news saturation coverage when he broke his metatarsal, or when he missed the World Cup? It's not entirely his fault, but constant adverts for sunglasses, underwear, jeans and his supremely untalented shaved whippet wife's adoration of the spotlight don't exactly sit well with most people. He is just a football player who is now past it, but the fact he has more money than he'll ever need, accepts just about every media campaign going and sounds thick pisses a lot of people off.
  9. Anyone know how you apply for tickets with the season ticket voucher offer? Can't see anything on their website or ours.
  10. If we can't expect to beat Liechtenstein, with a population less than the crowd inside Hampden the other night, then we might as well lock the gates and have a UK team. It's got nothing to do with entitlement. It's a comparison of the so called qualities of our players against them. If you were Portuguese, Spanish, Italian or Brazilian is it a sense of entitlement to expect to beat Scotland? Of course not - you simply are viewing the comparative strengths of both teams. If you are Brazilian and expect to beat Italy or Spain etc then that is a different matter.

    Apps

Interesting, particulalry as a former Apple-Hater myself. I had a Creative Zen Vision 30Gb player - it had the worst software EVER for converting files, in fact it crashed nearly every time I used it. And it certainly did not play any other type of media file other than .avi, and even then in a number of cases the sound never worked. After much thought (and self hatred), I bought the iPhone 3GS - although I would have bought an HTC Desire if they had been out at the time without even considering an Apple product.. In 15 months I've never had it crash (as happened with the Creative Zen) and it handles the advertised media files with no issue (unlike the creative Zen). My dad also had similar issues with the Creative Zen (whose customer support by the way was dreadful) and also now has an iPhone.
  12. Happy to give a little leeway - it's not the volunteers I have a problem with. The club is not helping them to help supporters properly. Jordanhilll Jag and others have been good enough to communicate through this site in a courteous and helpful manner; it's a shame they are being let down by those in power at the club.
  13. "Hello Mr X? Sorry there's been a problem with paying by installments, could you give me your credit card details and we'll sort it out" That is a 1 minute phone call - this took 4 weeks to sort a number of phone calls by me. It doesn't require an army of admin!!!! I am in correspondence with the club and publicly apologise to the lady involved, who as it turns out was a volunteer. However, my remarks about communication still stand - it is still supposed to be a business after all, not a charity and it's still crap customer service. As for the charge I'm well aware there is a charge for paying by card. I've been charged it twice.
  14. I really can't believe this. Tearing my hair out. Finally got someone to call me back on Friday. I won't have a go at the girl, it wasn't Ami, but she didn't really sound like she knew what she was doing. In fact despite me leaving a message detailing exactly my problem, she didn't seem to knwo why I had called. That isn't her fault, communication being as it is at Firhill I'm not surprised. After prompting her to take my credit card details and how much I'd already paid (which she should already know) and paying in full (the installments thing has generated a lot of discussion elsewhere so I won't go into it) I have now been overcharged. Not by a lot but enough to reinforce my opinion that it's amatuer hour over there.. Cue another phone call tomorrow. If this thing had been handled right at the start, I would probably have just let them have the money. Not now. And next year I'm paying at the gate. I can't be arsed with all this again.
  15. Ditto - although I have also had my name taken twice, credit card at the ready, only to be told the person dealing with it isn't in (fair enough, although how difficult is it to process a credit card) with the latest promise on Monday that 'someone will definetly call you back today'. I'm still waiting. As far as I'm concerned they can whistle for it - we're struggling to offer players contracts yet I've tried so many times to give them money and they don't seem that bothered!! If they want the money they know where I am!!! However thanks to Jordanhill Jag for his email last week. Your courtesy is appreciated. Shame it's others who are letting the side down.
  16. It's not the phone system, as I got through last week. I'm not having a go at the staff, everyone's entitled to a holiday, but the lack of a call back or contingency planning is non-existent. It was the same situation a couple of years ago at the Rangers games. The system they have in place is shite for dealing with anything relating to tickets and sales.
  17. The referee is supposed to be an objective adjudicator, therefore his nationality is irrelevant. There is no need to make any comment about the referee (or his nationality) other than when a decision is good or bad I want an objective commentary when watching any teams play, not one constantly biased towards England and dismissive of anything that isn't English.
  18. So even if it contains lines offensive to the host country we should just stand back and respect it? Piss off. How about they don't sing it in respect of the host country? In any case, it's the national anthem of Great Britain, not England so it shouldn't be used.
  19. Paid for my ticket online in instalments in May. First one came off fine. Nothing last week, when the 2nd should have come off. Then I get an email (generic one) saying I had to renew by 30th June otherwise I couldn't be guaranteed my seat. Called up the club and had someone take a message because the Chief Executive (wtf) was dealing with online sales and he would call me back. A week later no call back so I go to phone the club. No answer. Then I see a message on the website saying there is no office staff until July 5th!!! I bet I don't get my seat that I've been in for 15 years now. Utter, utter shambles. The customer service truly is diabolical. If there is a wrong way of doing things and ******* it up, Thistle will surely find it.
  20. Alan Green is a twat of the highest order. He's from Northern Ireland but goes on about the England team like they are his own sons. This morning he had a rant about how he would not go to watch England play Hungary in August as he wouldn't waste his time or money - even though it would be the BBC paying him to commentate!!! Also he called Scotland fans a disgrace for booing God Save the Queen in 1999 at the Euro 2000 play-off as it was the national anthem of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of which Scotland is a part. If that is the case you ******* condescending twat, why do England use it as their own?!?!?!?
  21. Dont talk pish. The iPhone is a good phone - you made all sorts of statements that were plain wrong - unreliable etc. Early ones maybe, but that is not my experience. It may not be a revolutionary phone, but that really isn't the point of it. My point is that I hated having to buy Apple, not against the iPhone. Therefore I would choose the HTC if faced with the same choice now, which as it is a newer phone has a number of advantages over the iPhone. The fact it isn't Apple is a particular bonus. But it doesn't make the iPhone a bad choice. In fact I would even give the new iPhone 4G when it comes out consideration. However, I think I was at least fair minded enough to see Apple had made a pretty good product, that meets the need for most users, particular those who aren't technical geeks. In any case the original poster asked about an iPhone, not any other product. The anti-Apple haters are every bit as bad as the gooey eyed Apple lovers.
  22. Not true. As a previous Apple hater (and still am to a certain exent- shove the iPad and lack of flash to feck) this is one area where I take particular issue. It's never crashed on me. The wi-fi and 3GS connections are dead easy to operate because they are programmed for dummies so you don't even need to think about it. The touch screen is great. The functionalities are everything I need. The apps you know will work (two sided argument blah blah blah). Quite simply it depends on the user, not the geeks. Had it for a year and quite simply it rammed all other competition into touch - and I was looking desperately for any phone but an iphone because that's how much I hated Apple. The biggest competitor at the time was the N97 and it was woeful in comparison. Nokia user for 10 years and quite frankly their competition was pathetic. Shit software and touchscreens. Sony - shit PC software and terrible operability. Samsung and LG - don't make me laugh. It may not be a revolutionary phone, but it does everything better than most and I've had a few to compare. The price is mainly for a iPod touch, which is also a pretty good all rounder. However, if buying one now it would be an HTC, probably the Desire. Does everything the iPhone does and most things better. But it wasn't around then, so I'm happy with my choice.
  23. not all airport food is terrible. O' Briens, greggs etc is just the same as the high street. Unless your point is just that.
  24. This came up a couple of months ago in the papers. Greggs were given a discounted rate on the unit for the first 2 years and are now refusing to pay the same rate as everyone else. So they aren't being evicted - they could stay if they wanted, but are choosing to leave. Airport prices are terrible for food.
