  1. Forgot to say, thought our defence was brilliant today and were time and time again let down by a poor midfield, but its the best we have looked defensively in a long time.
  2. I know their keeper had some decent saves, and we probably were unlucky to lose; but honestly feel our midfield isn’t quite there yet. We are really missing Osman in the middle of the park; and to get him and Bannigan back this month could be a blessing. However I do feel that we are looking like bottom 2 material at the moment and unless we can find goals without an injury managed Kris Doolan we are going to be in serious trouble. We can’t continue to play one up front when its not Doolan as its just not working.
  3. https://www.ebay.co....4AAAOSwFSxaEux3 As above signed ball, can arrange pickup or delivery if local.
  4. Not the worst time to have a break. Hopefully by Decembers games we will have fit enough squad. GK - Cerny, Scully, Sneddon DEF - McGinn, Nitriansky, Devine, Turnbull, Keown Mid- Barton, Edwards, Fraser, Woods, Erskine, Spittal, McCarthy, Lawless ST - Doolan, Nisbet, Sammon, Storey The question marks over Booth and Dumbuya's return remain, with not much update coming from the club As for Osman and Bannigan, both likely out until after Xmas, and same for Elliot - whos likely out until March time. Maybe time to recall Penrice in January?
  5. Wondering when these guys due back. Assuming Fraser will get game time in November Dumbuya should be back mid November unless hes had a set back? Booths injury was said 12 weeks which means he should be back December. Osman - not entirely sure imagine its December/January Bannigan - early December? Elliot - March? It would be nice to have an injury update at some point. Especially regarding Dumbuya as he can’t be far off unless he’s had a setback.
  6. The performance wasnt great by any standards but the difference in the teams fight from last week was amazing. Cerny - true leader and should have been captain, saved us multiple times. MotM by a mile. McGinn - had his worst performance in a jags shirt but it was his shot that led to our first goal Devine - Shaky & Nervy but battled to the end Keown - Shaky & Nervy but battled to the end Turnbull - sat too deep allowing opposition to press. Also Shaky at the back. Barton - first half he was defensively awful but good at pressing. Second half looked far better. Edwards- first half great, poor 2nd half but grabbed the vital equaliser. McCarthy - played well, was unlucky to be subbed but the change needed to be made. Erskine - trying hard, possibly too hard, fell over his feet. Lawless - stuck with his task, dug in, and played well defensively. Also big hand to play in winner. Sammon - kept winning first ball but no striker to help him. Subs Storey - tried hard, scored the winner didn’t stop despite offside many strikers wouldnt have made that run. Doolan - won us the game, two great assists from Doolan Spittal - came on and gave McGinn a bit of relief at a time when we were being pinned back. Played well Archies subs were spot on and made at the correct time. I just worry about us playing 1 up front at home as we never have any support. Dools and Storey should be given a chance to make partnership work.
  7. I genuinely thought after we went 1-0 down and lost the penalty that was that. Glad I was wrong. Also I will admit to being wrong last week, I thought Archie had lost the dressing room but today showed that they will fight for him. I still think he takes too long to make decisions however today he was like a man possessed. I am hoping he continues to prove me wrong and keep his job, I am glad I got over last weeks anger and went today and not only that I am glad I stuck with it today. Congratulations to the team on winning and hopefully they follow it up with a victory against Hamilton. Archie, keep proving me wrong please. And I will happily admit I am wrong time and time again this season.
  8. Id like to see us go with GK - Cerny RB - McGinn LB - Turnbull CB - Devine CB - Keown DM - Bannigan CM - McCarthy CM - Erskine RM - Spittal LM - Lawless CF - Storey
  9. We as a fan base are quickly becoming accepting of being bottom of the league. Yes the fans boo, and the fans grumble, lets face it numbers dropping off the gate every week is no surprise at the moment. As other fans have mentioned this team have serious tactical issues, no fight, lack of fitness and no clue. Killie who were managerless for the game were far better organised than us. We had an extreme lack of organisation, we are lacking a player like Sean Welsh or Abdul Osman in the middle of the park and it shows badly. 4-2-3-1 yesterday was yet another change in formation, even Manchester City concede when playing wing backs in a back 4, especially if nobody drops in. Barton doesn’t look like a midfielder, and him and Edwards just can’t develop that partnership that we need. Further up the park we offered very little, Spittal, Erskine and Storey all extremely poor. Doolan worked but with very little to feed off he was never going to score yesterday. And the poor management continues, every week I sit watching the game begging Archie to make a change because we can all see the pressure that eventually leads to an opposition goal, yesterday was no different for the second. Low and behold about 2-3 mins later after we conceed he makes the change. Too little too late. Furthermore, either we have to be the unluckiest team ever or our defence needs to stop standing off, their 2nd goal yesterday was a great strike, but no different to Dorrans goal when his man stood 5 yards of him, or the Aberdeen goal, where his man stood 5 yards of him too. The most worrying thing from a management point of view is he doesn’t learn from past lessons. 3 Seasons in a row we have struggled in the First Round of games. 3 seasons in a row we have conceeded goals in last 10 mins of games, sometimes even losing from a winning position. Now the trend with conceeding “spectacular strikes” is starting to become a worry, main reason because the lack of change in the other stats. I like Archie, he was a fantastic player, and he has probably been our best manager in decades. I would argue Lambie only walked away each time because he knew what was coming. I cant see Archie changing things enough this season to turn around our season, if we are lucky 10th will be achievable. Last but not least, the team. Yesterday they looked like a team content on passing the ball sideways to keep possession then lumping the ball up the park in the air. Have the players been told to do this or have the lost confidence? Do they know what style they are supposed to be playing? What position? Every single one of them should hang their heads in shame, however they wont. Usual response from Archie, they will go in, go through the game on tape, talk about it and go from there. BMMMH got it in one yesterday where he said someone needed Smashed. Although I think he was referring to it happening in the dressing room as opposed to on the pitch, time to stop the old pals act, get a reaction out of these players. If it was my choice Archie would be out by Saturday, but its not and I think they’ll stick with him until Xmas. If he turns things around and keeps us up, then hes a better manager than I thought. I just dont see it recently.
  10. Missing: Dumbuya (hardly been fit since last summer) Fraser (hardly been fit since last summer) Osman (training injury that required surgery) Booth (out until Xmas?) Elliot (out until March) Lawless (got the man flu) Bannigan (no idea) Nisbet (no idea) Realistically we are missing one right back, one left back and a CM from starting lineup.
  11. Im not expecting much but we are bottom of the league with no win in 9 games, with only hamilton and dundee to play.
  12. Can’t even say it wasn’t deserved. Killies goal had been coming despite the awful mistake that led to their first and then for the second goal, we have lost the same type of goal about 5 times already this season because our defence stands off their man by about 5-10 yards inviting the shot. We were awful. No excuses.
  13. Its more in confidence that it will never happen
  14. Archie out. Legend or not we are in serious danger of ruining all our hard work. The players are a disgrace, no fight, no belief. I do appreciate everything Archie has done for the club but I do genuinely believe now is the time for him to walk away. Edwards only one deserving pass marks today so far. Even if we come out and win 5-1 I’ve saw enough to be convinced time for Archie to go. Stop all this crap chat about playing the difficult teams first, boohoo, we are in the big boy league and need to find a pair of big boy panties for the manager to wear as it appears Archie has lost his.
  15. Would love to see more flags. Priority is get these ones replaced any money left over should go to another flag / flags!
  16. some guy on P&B (James Deason) taking donations for Thistle Flags fund. Fair play to him, over £550 raised so far according to his posts
  17. Its sad, and pathetic by what seems to be a bunch of wee boys. However instead of giving them the attention they want and crave we should move on. How much are these flags all in? About £1500? Its a lot of money but id suggest a group fundraising page, appeal to the fans. Any money raised will go to new flags and only new flags, if we raise more then we buy more flags. Lets just beat this lot tonight, hit them where it hurts the most.
  18. I don't know about Scully in goal to be honest but one thing I will say is im glad he can kick the ball over the halfway line. Tomas has struggled to even reach the halfway line lately due to his injuries, and I do feel at times it makes us very one dimensional.
  19. I dont know what people seen in Edwards or Barton last night. Barton was about 10 yards off the pace, lost the ball so many times the first half I lost count and then only improved when taking 2 touches at most second half. Edwards ran his heart out but to do what exactly? He was a headless chicken, posted missing everytime Rangers had the ball. He had a habit of running near the Rangers players without making tackles. The standouts last night for me were Miles Storey & Turnbull. I'd also say Devine, Keown and Spittal all played well in 2nd half. I still disagree with Archies decision to remove Storey and Spittal effectively taking any chance of a counter attack away. Yes we won the point, yes im delighted we took a point, but really we put ourselves under so much sustained pressure with no outball. You need an outball if you are playing with 10 men. Big Sammon done well with exactly what he was supposed to do, but with no pace or even players around him he couldnt do much. One big chance stands out when Sammon was one on one with the defender as Rangers were sitting so high up the park, if that had been Storey we would have been walking away with a win. I know others will disagree and thats the point in a forum, but I would love us to take the game to them on Tuesday, who knows they might rest some players for the Ugly sisters game to follow.
  20. Im not justifying his idiocy for giving away the penalty. More saying the decision should have went our way for the free kick, which meant that next phase of play should never have taken place which resulted in the penalty.
  21. Things I learned from today. Ref was abysmal although got big decisions correct. For the penalty it was a stonewaller, but to be fair to Bannigan he had been wound up about 10 seconds earlier when the Dons player grabbed both his feet with his arms and made Banzo fall, right infront of the ref too. Should have been a free kick and then no penalty would have occurred. Secondly, the defending was poor from crossed balls from both teams, pretty shocking to be honest. Thirdly, I gave Connor a little bit of a hard time today, and the one time he heard it, he won the ball and then won us a throw in, he turned around and stared and I applauded his efforts. To be fair he wasn't the worst and is playing out of position but at times his work rate is poor. He proved me wrong that once and generally got into good areas going forward but i feel he is a bit lost on the wing. Point #4 is about Cerny, Tomas has been outstanding for us but his distribution when we want to counter fast or punt the ball up the park is awful. He can't kick the ball to the half way line, presumably to do with his injury but it seriously limits us in options and involves in us having to absorb a lot more pressure when building from the back. Point #5 The Midfield today was rather bizarre. Spittal although great at set pieces was largely a passenger, Banzo cost us the penalty, Barton stood off their player for the third, although it was a cracking finish, and Barton also got caught trying to do fancy footwork... Further to this once Edwards came on he seemed to be playing defensive mid, and Barton was the more advanced midfielder, surely the sensible thing would have been to swap them? Point #6 Archies substitutions were all reactive after losing goals, and the last two subs were laughable, they got all of 4 mins on the park. Last but not least, overall I was impressed by the majority of the team, including Sammon despite falling off the radar in last 15mins (wasnt the only one) the failures again were mostly individual errors, which just seems to be deja vu! I reckon we need to be looking at getting at least 12 pts from first 12 games to be in the mix with the group that will fight from 5th-12th place until the end of the season!
  22. What id do for a BMMMH type player!
