  1. Any club that submits inappropriate tops should be barred.
  2. Their crowds are generally lower than ours (derby matches excepted), and they have three stands open at every match, I think. That must all mount up, along with players' salaries etc.
  3. How old is Pressley? He must be in his Forties.
  4. He certainly didn't sound very buoyant yesterday.
  5. Am I right in thinking that there was a half-time announcement yesterday abut the current (no pun intended!) standings in this competition? If that was what the announcement was about, we weren't even mentioned as being in the top four.
  6. Yes, Raith, Dunfermline, Falkirk and Dundee against each other are all derby-like matches that can attract crowds of 5,000. We've been starved of those kinds of matches for years now, only matches against the OF (few and far between) beating that figure. There's no doubt that more people attending would make it easier for us to keep afloat.
  7. For years he'd been telling his wife that her constant nagging would be the death of him. Maybe that'll Learner.
  8. I always feel sorry when any of the cuddies dies in the race. But it's now nowhere near as bad as it used to be. And I do think that the horses probably enjoy running and jumping, much as marathon runners and hurdlers do.
  9. Regrets? I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention.
  10. Tell me about it. I use memory aids. For example, complete this sentence: "Yesterday we beat F*****K." The fact will now be etched in memory until well into this evening.
  11. I'm sure that LIB is from good stock.
  12. Excellent photies, excellent day in the sun. And nice pun, even if it's in the wrong thread.
  13. Some nervous defending near the end yesterday. Any port in a storm stuff.
  14. Yes. And although most folk seem to hope that Dunfermline go up, I'd rather it was Rovers. There's no reason to fear Dunfermline next year; they'll be just as skint as everybody else.
  15. Am I the only one who saw "bondage exercises" at first glance?
  16. Plus they had their SPL parachute payment, all gone. There's no doubt that they'll need to make big cuts next season. It might be that their "academy" at Stirling Uni will get the chop.
  17. I've just been perusing one of the Bairns fans' forums, and they do NOT rate Mr Pressley very highly at all, it would seem. But maybe more interestingly, there's a very strong rumour that Falkirk are in some very serious financial trouble, and that failure to get promoted this season is going to hit them very, very hard.
  18. You're right to underline Grehan's performance. I forgot to mention it in another thread, but yes his cross for Erskine's header was inch-perfect. First time I've seen us win there. Looking forward to a nice glass or two of Chateau Jaggernaut2 ce soir. 2Whatever cheap plonk is in the hoose.
  19. Agreed about the 2 goals. The team forgot the old adage that your opponents are never more dangerous than when they're 3-0 down with 20 minutes left. Erskine had a great first half, and Rowson never stopped running. We've got a right good player in Campbell. A bit naive once or twice, but also more accomplished than many of the older players at some of what he did. Another good shift by Grehan too, including a great pass for Doolan's goal. Well done to the R&Y army for playing their part too.
  20. Please let us have some close-quarters quality time with Mr. Pressley!
  21. Don't worry about it today; back to league business.
