lady-isobel-barnett Posted March 29, 2015 Report Share Posted March 29, 2015 Going back to that Alloa game I am pretty sure that Jose Quitongo (who moved from Alloa to Thistle during the latter part of that season) came on as a sub, but my mental processes were so affected by the extreme cold I cannot remember which team he was then playing for. I think you're right and I also believe he was playing for us. But like yourself by that time the cold was affecting all rational thinking. yoda-jag Posted March 29, 2015 Report Share Posted March 29, 2015 Going back to that Alloa game I am pretty sure that Jose Quitongo (who moved from Alloa to Thistle during the latter part of that season) came on as a sub, but my mental processes were so affected by the extreme cold I cannot remember which team he was then playing for. correct. jose did come on as a sub, and in a thistle shirt at that. that night in alloa is seared in my memory. it is without question the coldest i have ever been at a thistle match. it reminded me of ice planet hoth (surface temperature of -364 degrees fahrenheit (-220 degrees celsius) ..... nearly as frigid as pluto (-229c) it was that cold, when i went to have a discreet pee at the back of the old shed, a stalagmite quickly formed, it was rising that fast, i had to hurriedly stop, shake and cover up before the stalagmite attached itself to my love saber. the potential (and eventual) appearances of jolly jose and ukranian dave were the only reasons i stayed to the end and put up with the frozen fingers, toes and frostbotten ears ..... the waiting was not worth it.
