Tom Hosie
Just in from the Billy Connelly 'Freedom of the City of Glasgow' gig at the City Chambers. Great, drunken, night and what a table I was at. John Byrne writer of Tutti Fruti sitting next to me. Does it get cooler than that? hamiltonjag
So Connolly has the Freedom of the City of Glasgow now eh? Does this now mean he'll be living here or will he stay in America, remotely rimming British royalty, speaking in a stupid feckin accent and all the time taking the p*** out of and belittling the folk of his home town? Edited to add.... I don't mean to sound critical of you Tom. Glad you had a great night out mate. Major bonus sitting with the talent that is John Byrne. 1971
So Connolly has the Freedom of the City of Glasgow now eh? Does this now mean he'll be living here or will he stay in America, remotely rimming British royalty, speaking in a stupid feckin accent and all the time taking the p*** out of and belittling the folk of his home town? Are people not allowed to move country? Does it make him less of a Glaswegian if he has done well for himself and has a house in the States? What an odd logic. Also how does one go about 'remotely rimming'?

Of course people are allowed to move country. It's the looking down his nose and getting cheap laughs from toffs by bad-mouthing Glasgow that pi**es me off. You are a wonderful person. *Holds index finger up, frowns, laughs and tries to fling head between own knees before whiplashing head back up again "Nohh! Reeeeealyyyyy 1971 is a wuuuunderful guy. Best poster on here! As I was saaaaying to him just the other day in fact...." I'm in Hamilton. You're feck knows where. Consider yourself remotely rimmed

Coincidentally the 70s was the last time he had a Glasgow accent too.
