He's a most fervent Dons fan who has written and broadcast about them. Two things I like about him in that respect is firstly he has never hidden his association with Aberdeen FC and secondly he's always objective with his comments. The only thing that annoys me, and only slightly, is his frequently rapturous approach when it comes to discussing league tables. Along the lines of "Surprisingly only 5 points separate the 2nd top team in League Two with the 2nd bottom. This is fantastic!" No it's not surprising that a league of ten part time clubs playing each other four times a season will have few points between 2nd and 9th. And no, Richard, that isn't "fantastic".
