mrD
Browsed through the collection - lots of good stuff! The Scottish Radical Library is a unique resource in Scotland. It houses a substantial collection of materials of social, cultural and economic interest, comprising thousands of items donated by users, supporters, members and publishers. http://srl.autonomous.org.uk/ At the Autonomous Centre Edinburgh, 17 West Montgomery Place, EH7 5HA, UK

kni
What a load of sh1te! Anything with "radical" in the name or title usually means that they are power-hungry political masturbators. GTF!
mrD
uch im not too fond of the word radical myself to be honest. nevertheless its a good resource to have as as lot of that kinda literature is difficult to obtain. I'm wanting to maybe do my dissartion on anarchist thought and/or history but the glasgow uni library has very little in the way of books on that subject. this library will suit my needs if i choose to go down that path... edited to add: You can't say much about political **** with a quote from the independant in your signature hahah Edited October 31, 2010 by mrD

Meister Jag
If looking for leftie stuff, the LU library in Waterloo Street (CP offices) is quite good as is the Wee Red Book shop (SSP run) which is up the Barras (London Road). Both are cheap and cheerful and will give you a left-leaning library that will be the envy of all your mates! I'm not too sure that are too many lefties on this DG but is anarchism really anything to do with left-wing socialism? Thinking of the writings and ideas of Bakunin, Kropotkin and Proudhon. None of who were exactly Marxist thinkers. Some of these guys actually advocated the defence of the right of inheritance and even went so far as to confirm the genuine need for man to establish property rights. Anarchism but not as we know it!! Can't believe that I'm writing this sh***; but now't better to do of a Sunday morning as I'm barred from Sunday school. Sorry folks! hamiltonjag
thats because its the only way that they can get elected now and even then they are crap at it I actually agree that's true. Middle England voters are such old firm-esque neanderthals.

Anarchism but not as we know it!! Uch you know fine well that anarchism is a pretty broad church one of whom you mentioned influenced marx pretty strongly about property (proudhon). Some anarchists are admitedly indidualistic such as anarcho capitalists and others who are pretty into the philosophy of stirer whilst others total opposite and out and out marxists. The library could do with some more marxian contributions thats for sure. Whats good about this library as it takes contributions so if people donate marx stuff the representation will get better. theres a lotta bookchin stuff there which i like.
