Wiltshire Jag
As Rovers are my adopted team down here, I'm going to post suggestions for pubs to visit before the match on their forum. When I come up, I don't drink in a "Thistle pub" so am out of touch for where to suggest that would be welcoming. Munns? Firhill Tavern? Alan Rough lounge? Jaconelli's ? Blackpool Jags
The Star and Garter or the Strathmore.
arnus68
The Firhill Tavern is kind of not around any more. Last time I was in the Star & Garter I was hit with drip tray spillage so I've not been back. The Strathmore is ok, as is Munns. Somebody may suggest The Brass Monkey on the Finniestoun end of Argyle street.

lady-isobel-barnett
Star & Garter is fine. Usually a very good atmosphere pre match, quick & friendly service. Visiting fans seem to like it.
Pie Of The Month
Send them for an overpriced pint in the Aitken Suite.

Dr.D
Crosslands in Queen Margaret Drive not too far away from Firhill andis a much quieter pub without the Jakies.
Father Jack Hackett
Bennett's or Waterloo in the City Centre should satisfy their needs.

uberteeb
Tell them not to go to Munns, I always feel sorry for the away fans who end up in there because its the nearest pub on Maryhill Road, its an absolute griefhole. Best bet would be the Star or the Woody, Crosslands and Pewter Pot are good shouts but a bit further away. If they want to lord it up in a fancy gaff then the Landsdowne could be the one. Lanarkjag
Bon Accord at Charing Cross. Seem to have a wee soft spot for thistle, I think they still have a Jersey on the wall. Plenty of decent beer, but can be a bit pricey at times. Only prob is it's a bit of a walk to Maryhill from there.

True, but the Strathy's Jakies are almost an integral part of the match-day experience.
