You would be amazed how quickly the new sand based grass dries out. That's why a lot of clubs even water it at Half time.

Fearchar. If you think watering the pitch helps the long ball team your deluded. Pitch is watered for fast zippy passing. If you play the long ball it skites away from you. Watered pitch is better than a dry sticky pitch for the passing team
