  1. Class. Well done Alan Archibald, you are a gentleman and a credit to PTFC.
  2. With this, you might have answered your own question. Whatever the technical capabilities or bling of the box itself, they are a nightmare of a company to deal with. Having cancelled my telephone/broadband service with them in October 2012 they continue to send me letters with an ever increasing bill that they allege I owe to them, claiming that I actually requested to retain these services. So far they have failed to produce evidence of the request and respond to my email enquiries with something so obscure it must have been randomly generated by an automatic translator. They also have no viable complaints procedure. You have been warned.
  3. Apologies for crashing the love-in but can anyone tell me if Paton/Murray's suspension remains in place for Dunfermline or is it carried forward as a result of last night's match being voided?
  4. Since play was restarted with a free kick to Morton, I don't think the ref considered it a bad tackle. He let a few industrial tackles go unpunished for both sides so at least he was consistent.
  5. In the unlikely event that they did, they would also have to invest heavily in a squad as most of their journeymen would be well over the hill for the SPL and I imagine that they will struggle to hold on to Tidser and Bachirou. BTW, I think the new format SPL has ditched the no. of seats rule, leaving it instead to the clubs to plan according to their requirements. Only 20 years or so too late for us on that score.
  6. Don't worry GPT, buses usually come fitted with their own. As you say, leave it to MissusGPT!
  7. why do people add 'big style' at the end of a sentence for emphasis. wtf does it mean?
  8. Agreed. There's an overwhelming tendency to vote time and again for politicians that deliver the wishes of lobbyists and large corporations.
  9. You're in good company. I remember asking John Lambie what he thought about Graeme Dorrans whilst he was on loan with us. Lambie growled that he didn't have it and wouldn't make it at that level.
  10. BBC make up have been a touch liberal with the greasepaint. Looks like Owen has just done a vaudeville routine at the Kings.
  11. their average gate this season is like 7,500. other indicators over, say past 30/40 years, such as their domestic and european record and a well established youth system that has generated a fair amount in transfer fee income makes them significantly bigger than us.
  12. Not suggesting anyone is, but when there's plenty of positives today and ahead why focus on yesterdays headlines.
  13. I met him a couple of months after his last appearance under DC when he got injured after about 10 minutes. I told him that he'd played more football in the 10 minutes than the rest of DC's side had played all season. He was a wee bit embarrassed but seemed genuinely chuffed with the compliment.
  14. Seems that in spite of a swift appointment of a new management team that was universally and enthusiastically welcomed by fans, some people are having trouble moving on.
  15. Staggered that we bought him from Darlo for only £352.00. Thanks for the memories Rowser, can't add anything to what's already been said.
  16. Chunky, Sinclair isn't eligible for the U21's. He confirmed this on Twatter the other day.
  17. If the 'cheap option' is having a wage bill that allows a club to live within in it's means then the answer to the question is yes.
  18. why did i read the original post in a high pitched, whiney, bitchy, camp voice. pull yer panties up mate, Lenziejag has it spot on.
  19. an ageing second rate 'Madchester' beat combo.
  20. Excellent that the Board has acknowledged the importance of coaches with experience of working with young players and hopefully a commitment to continue to play the passing game.
  21. Assuming it's the same multiplier that they use when reporting the number of immigrants illegally entering the country, apply it in reverse then we probably got about £500.
  22. Sandra Clark is also part of QotS management team. I seriously doubt that anyone who watched Thistle during Clark's tenure would welcome him back with open arms.
  23. Not sure if that's true but as I said on another thread from early Firhill has been crawling with representatives from other clubs. The media, old and new, has been awash with praise for our style of play. The risk from JMcN's perspective is that if he stuck around until the end of the season he could end up finishing second to higher spending Morton, being runner-up to high flying QotS and being tagged with having an away record achilles heel. He's also likely to have been made a very tempting offer by Thomson at a time in his career when his stock is high.
  24. Fair to say that we have probably had more scouts/managers of other clubs/directors of other clubs at Firhill these past few months than in the past few seasons. i expect that they weren't just reporting back regarding individual players. it's also inevitable in football that most managerial casualties start to occur towards the calendar year end. so, well done to this Board if they did indeed tie JM into an arrangement that brought some cash into the club.
