  1. A fantastic start to the season which I would never have predicted, but I think your getting a bit too carried away far too soon! Remember 2 seasons ago Dunfermline had 8 points after the first 4 or 5 matches, and look how their season turned out! Lets just enjoy the run we're on just now, see how long it lasts and where it takes us.
  2. Check out this video taken from my vantage point by my Dad beside me at yesterday's match, it took me ages to upload it!
  3. I found this interesting page showing all SPL (or Premiership as we need to get used to calling it!) teams friendly results so far. Its interesting to see how other teams have done, especially when we think we've had a mixed bag of friendly results. Aberdeen have lost to Peterhead, Ross County lost to Brora Rangers and Peterhead, and St Mirren have been doing terrible! Only ICT seem to have done pretty well, but they have mainly being playing Highland League teams. I know at the end of the day friendly results dont matter one bit, but I still thought it was interesting reading all the same! http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.asp?page=s2&newsid=12356
  4. Hi Jukebox Rebel, thanks for taking the time to find this thread and bump it back up again to get more interest, you must have had to search through quite a few pages to find it! So I appreciate your support, my petition has almost reached the magic four figures now so Im delighted with the progress its making. I am indeed the guy at the bottom ofthe North stand and that wasnt a helper thats my Dad who got whacked by the ball! We've been going to Firhill together for many years! Im sorry I cant remember your face because I saw so many people that night and Im hopeless at remembering faces! If you see me again this season feel free to come over and say hi
  5. Thanks so much everyone for helping and supporting me with this, I didnt expect to get so many responses. It just shows what a great bunch us Jags fan are. My petition has now got over 600 signatures, which is great progress in just 3 weeks. But the hard part is keeping the momentum going! I hadnt thought of raising the issue with Thistle, do you think thats a good idea? I didnt think it was the sort of thing that a football club would get involved with, isnt it more of a political issue? I've also created a Facebook page if anyone wants to follow the progress of my petition, you can check it out and "like" it at http://www.facebook.com/DisabledAdultRespite Thanks again!
  6. I know this has nothing to do with football or anything like that, but I want to know if you all wouldnt mind helping me with something? Some of you might have seen this on Facebook and elsewhere, but I am currently trying to share a petition with as many people as possible. Its about creating respite services to support disabled adults with life shortening conditions in the age group 21-45. There are plenty of respite services for children and for much older adults and pensioners, but when you are my age you find yourself stuck in the middle with nowhere to go. I feel its up to the UK and Scottish governments to do something about this, I think they have a responsibility to us disabled young adults and our families to address this gap in provision. So I just want to ask you all if you could please sign this petition and share it with everyone you know? This issue is so vitally important and needs to be dealt with. Your help is much appreciated. http://you.38degrees.org.uk/p/adultrespite
  7. We could hide a fog machine in the bing in case we need to use it in the SPL...
  8. Whats that "Thistle symphony" tune? Im sure Ive heard it years ago, but not at the football. Wish I could remember!
  9. Thanks Tom, that would be great. Nice to know you hadn't forgotten about me, I appreciate there have been one or two small things happening at the club over recent weeks!
  10. I realise it might be a bit late now with printing deadlines and stuff, but does anyone think it would be worthwhile creating a special edition match programme for the Dunfermline game? Make it much bigger, like the "Real Scottish Football" one we created for that Morton game a few years ago, and cram it full of photos of memorable moments from this season, from the players on the pitch to the fans off it, the big crowds packing stadiums. There could be several large high quality images that could be pulled out to put on fans' walls. Sell it for a fiver, Im sure everyone would gladly purchase such a momento of one of the greatest ever seasons in our club's history. What do you all think? Over to you, Mr Hosie...
  11. Oops I made a mistake! I meant to ask is Balaton not Scottish? I thought he was from Edinburgh?
  12. We are certainly close to the finish line, but we still have a good bit of work to do. to me, obviously we want to beat Morton, we're long overdue a win against them this season, but to me as long as we dont lose to them we should be alright. I would think we should be able to get 7 points from our remaining home games, and with 2 of our away games being at Airdrie and Dumbarton it should be well within our capabilities to get at least 4 points from our 3 remaining away games. So that would put us on 77 points, and in my prediction Morton draw with us meaning the maximum amount of points Morton can get would also be 77, and with our vastly superior goal difference, the league would be ours! But that would mean the title race would go down to the very last game, which for the sake of my heart and blood pressure i really dont want to see happening!
  13. Has anyone seen this on the Official Site? http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2012-2013/april_2013/forever_and_ever Obviously we are trying to drum up support for the Morton game, although I doubt the match will need any help to get a big crowd, its our biggest game in years! But I was wondering, why does it say "The future starts Wednesday 10th April at 7pm" when the game doesn't actually kick off until 7.45? Do they have some pre-match entertainment lined up?
  14. He saved a penalty against Cove Rangers this season.
  15. I feel that in practically every game he has played in this season, Foxy has had to produce a crucial save at some point in the match. Even in games that we have ended up winning by 3 or 4 goals, he has made important saves at 0-0 or 1-0 that, had he conceded, could have resulted in the match going completely differently fom how it ended up. He is definitely a vital player for us, after a few dodgy errors near the start of last season he has been extremely consistent since then.
  16. Had an extremely bizarre moment today. At 1-1 I decided to have a look at the CowdenCam, not expecting to see much more than the back of a stand, but I saw a small group of fans standing on the edge of the terracing, just below a sign for Knockhill racing. Within seconds they started jumping up and down in celebration of a goal. I was about to cheer until I released I couldnt see any red n yellow colours on them so it suddenly dawned on me that oh crap, maybe it is in fact Cowden fans celebrating their team taking the lead! So imagine my relief when the OS commentary updated to say Thistle 2 Cowdenbeath 1
  17. Given it says your location is Thornliebank, how can you be "Just In" already? Do you have a helicopter?
  18. Do they need to have the entire pitch clear by the time the referee arrives in order for the pitch inspection to be passed? Surely if say 2 thirds of the pitch is clear and the grass underfoot isnt solid then it should pass the inspection, because they'll have the entire pitch cleared by about 5pm I would've thought.
  19. Damn, the snow is getting pretty heavy again in Cowdenbeath... Watching this is more entertaining than watching Scotland playing last night!
  20. Thanks for the replies Jordanhill Jag and ian_mac. I really dont see what the OP's point is, and Im glad you dont either. As JJ says, a non-issue.
  21. I am the son of Auld Jag, and as one of the few wheelchair users who uses the North Stand I feel I have to reply to you Tartan Jag. I dont understand what your problem really is. What do you mean by "lanes" anyway? There are no lanes, but there is plenty of room at the front of the stand to accomodate both wheelchair users and able-bodied fans walking past. You say there was still space of "three wide" which is plenty of space, so its not even as if the person was causing a complete blockage of any fans coming past, and even if there was Im sure if people have patience and wait a few seconds or say "excuse me" to the person concerned then they will move out of the way. I can assure you it can be much worse from my point of view. I dont know how many times I have had to stop when leaving the ground because people just barge right past me as if I am invisible, and most weeks during the last 5 minutes of the match as many people want to leave a bit earlier but still want to watch the game they stand right in front of me completely blocking my view of the match, sometimes this has happened to me at various other times during the game where one or two people have stopped right in front of me and I have had to ask them to move. To me barging past is more of a "safety issue" than having to walk "three wide", whats wrong with walking out in single file anyway, but I dont really see what your issue is frankly.
  22. The best view of today's first goal I think you'll agree http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4-3Su4T09E&feature=youtu.be
