  1. Fair point. Anyone remember if a cup game has been as expensive as this when playing a club in our division before? I wonder if the club are hoping to take advantage of the fact it's a QF and there's a possibility of getting Sevco should we progress. Will be very disappointing if we don't get more than 2000 through the door.
  2. Was definitely £17 on OS this morning. I see that's been updated now. Everyone bring £17 anyway and buy 4 extra 50/50 tickets!
  3. Prices on the OS: Adults £17 Concession £7 Looking forward to it as I think we have a good chance of progressing. Might not have a great crowd though as I think the price might put a few people off (those who think it's a diddy cup or maybe new fans) especially with the game being on Alba. Hope we can get a decent number along to show everyone watching how good we're doing on and off the field!
  4. You would hope they would be listening to the complaints and trying to make changes but even if they aren't going to they should at least be acknowledging there is an issue and the complaints of the customers.
  5. Good idea. I don't think the kids are getting involved in the singing as much as was hoped and as you say, some of the songs they shouldn't be singing anyway. Would definitely be worth a shot as I think you're right in saying it might improve the banter between home and away fans in jhs.
  6. With catering seemingly the biggest ongoing issue i'm assuming the complaints have been passed on to the club by onethistle. Just wondering if the club or caterers have had any thoughts on the matter or if anyone has came back to say what they're going to do about the problems?
  7. Not true! I got the seats beside my ST seat reserved for the kids. They are stickered as reserved.
  8. I found this quite easy tbh.Paton has been phenomenal so far this season. His passing in the Dumbarton game was unbelievable and his effort both tracking back and pushing forward has been exceptional in all the games. He gets my vote!
  9. We were definitely the better team but just didn't get the break up front we needed. As long as the players keep their heads up and don't get frustrated and the fans don't get on their backs too much we can easily take the three points on Saturday. If that was Accies best performance so far this season they'll struggle.
  10. Yrah, Jackie said recently he'll need a mini pre-season when he's fit again too. Must be frustrating not knowing the causr or cure of the back spasms he's getting. As you say, having him as an option would be great for the midfield and would hopefully improve everyone as there'd be even more competition for a place in the team.
  11. I think we learned from Queens Park that we can't afford to have Archie and Murray out at the same time if it can be helped. Question is... Has Archie still got the fitness to play 2/3 games in a week? Perhaps start him then bring on Balatoni if we're cruising. Bannigan into the middle with Sinclair on the left seems the obvious solution to Murray being out. Think we'd need Welsh to play the sitting midfielder role as he's more solid there than Bannigan defensively. Regardless of the changes (momentum from our win streak and all that) 2-0 Thistle. Mon the jags!
  12. Some people just love a moan... that's clear throughout this forum, not just this thread! I agree the catering needs sorting and soon before no-one bothers buying the rubbish they're serving up. The noise coming through the PA system still annoys me... I can hear the shed fine thanks! Complaints like these are what these feedback threads should be about... not having a go at the onethistle team. These guys are volunteering to TRY to improve the matchday experience. None of them have claimed to have all the answers of how to improve Firhill and they are open to suggestions. I think it's unfair to have a go at the guys who are leading onethistle when they are giving up their time to VOLUNTEER to improve things for the majority. Agreed that getting a few off comments from them won't help the mood of those already annoyed by some events at the match but we need to remember the majority of those helping out will have had little or no previous experience of the tasks they are doing and need time to improve and learn from mistakes. Let's keep the criticism constructive and work as a team off the field just as Jackie and the boys are doing on it. " If we are together nothing is impossible. If we are divided all will fail." Mon the jags
  13. Are under 16s allowed to buy tickets? If so, is there free entries available for them? 50p is a bit steep!
  14. Great initiative! Kids are definitely the future of our support and the more we can get in the door the better! I think there would be a big uptake of this by kids who wouldn't normally come to our games (ie, publicising this in as many schools as possible) and I'm sure by offering the tickets to these people for free would bring in many more bodies than if we had turned round to them and said it's £5 entry. Obviously the hope is by the time they turn 16 they'll be hooked on Thistle and will then pay to get in. I'm sure some of them will! To those who aren't happy that the club keep coming up with more free stuff for kids... what offers/promos/freebies for the adults would you like to see? I'm sure someone will pass ideas on to the club if we come up with some! I don't think it would be fair to only say 'I think kids should pay X' without coming up with alternatives for the club to consider.
  15. I agree that £10 for an afternoon of football doesn't sound too much but there are factors to consider. If I was to take my two kids (aged 3 and 6) along on Saturday it would have been £35 entry. If we were then to stay for the second match we would have had to have some food/drinks. We would have been about £50 for our day to watch Thistle play a Celtic XI with no 'stars' in a friendly - NO THANKS! We have Season Tickets so got in on Sunday for free which was very welcome but I really wouldn't have minded paying a reasonable price. The 'kids go free' initiative is excellent. It's important to remember that going forward the life of the club will be younger fans. If we don't have new generations of fans coming through all the time the club could easily die. If we manage to get a good base of kids coming through the doors free of charge for a few seasons, when they turn 16 I'm sure a large number of them will want to continue to support the team they've been watching and will pay. The club are leading the way in this 'Community' aspect and I don't think they should be criticised for this at all. I agree not enough is done by way of offers for those who pay at the gate throughout the season but it's very difficult for the club to offer anything to these fans (mainly because they won't know if a fan paying at the gate has been to 0, 1, 2... games in the season). I'm sure they would be willing to listen to ideas of what can they offer these fans but if they don't know who is paying £17 week in/week out it could be difficult? Perhaps a 'loyalty card' type scheme where someone could maybe get £5 off every 6 games are so? I think if the prices had been £10 and £5 we would have had increased crowds from the 3 local teams but I'm sure the club will learn from this.
  16. As I posted in another topic... In my opinion, the Statement is far too vague after other statements made by Beattie in the press over the last couple of days. It's obvious to everyone that we have no say in the SPL decision but what I was looking for was clarity with regards to comments already made by Beattie. Why make statements in two newspapers with some hypothetical details then, in an official club statement, say what you should have said in the first place with no reference to previous comments?! From very early on in close season there was a fantastic buzz being generated from the club and the fans. I was more upbeat than ever about the coming season... funny how things change so quickly. Let's hope our club fight for the outcome the majority of fans clearly want if the need arises.

  18. If 'Newco' are granted entry to the SPL is relegation to Division One a valid punishment? ie, would they be able to go to court as with the transfer embargo and have the decision overturned effectively leaving them in the SPL?
  19. If this statement is correct in it's entirety and events unfold which result in 'Rangers' being granted a place in the 1st Division with our backing and in the current format (one up, one down) I'm afraid I won't be back next year either. The only advantage to our club would be financial. Competitiveness in our league next season and fairness in football would be lost. I think the club need to look at the bigger picture rather than the financial benefits of one season with Rangers in the league. I have been to 90% of home games over the past 15 years. This year, I decided that I'd get a season ticket both to help the club and because my finances are in a better position to allow me to do this. Starting to regret this now though! Will be asking for a refund and won't be at Firhill next year if we assist them in joining our league. As with most, it'll be difficult to walk away from the club we've supported all our lives but I can't pay into something I don't agree with. Intergrity before money please Mr Beattie.
  20. I filled in application for a season ticket for the first time a few weeks ago. Paying 4 installments via paypal. Haven't heard anything official from the club to say they received my applciation or anything. Should I expect confirmation or will they contact me after the fourth payment is made?
