  1. Living in Inverness so just in, nearly a home game for me. Wow. We were absolutely superb, I can't remember County having an attempt at goal aside from the goal which also seemed incredibly fortunate the way it slipped in at Fox's near post. Could really have been 4 or 5-0 to us with a bit more luck. I thought County were going to show something different after the way they started the match but after 5-10 minutes they just went back to their usual diagonal hoofball. First goal came against the run of play but credit to our boys, they didn't let up and Frans scored a screamer which went off the post and in, can't wait to see it back on the highlights because it seemed like it was miles out. 1-1 at half-time was really harsh on us because we were streets ahead. Second half we stepped it up a notch further and County were nowhere, we must have dispossessed them in their own half 10 times and had some great chances to score which we fluffed. I don't think O'Donnell was trying to shoot when he scored, he belted a half-volley from out wide on the right and it squeaked in but great celebration in front of the away support. They had a couple penalty shouts which looked decent but hard to tell from the other end of the ground. Really impressed with Lawless today, thought he held onto the ball really well and caused them loads of problems. They didn't handle Taylor or Higgy particularly well either. No failures in the team today, special mention to Balatoni and Frans because County just did not get a sniff. We are staying up!
  2. Decent Jags support today and we deserved something out of it. Fortunately I'm in Inverness, so not a long haul home. I have no idea how idea how County have won four in a row. That performance today was one of the worst I have seen from any top flight team. Difficult, windy conditions yes, but they made absolutely no attempt to play the ball on the deck whatsoever, an absolute rip-off at £20. An element of luck about their goal. The first 25 minutes were rotten from both teams but we had just started to get the ball down and play a bit when they broke up the park and scored. Not sure what happened to Lyle Taylor in the build-up, but he was down in a heap while they scored. Keenan should have attacked the ball in but Boyce got in front of him, decent block from Gall but it spilled to Curran and his trundled it over the line. With the wind at our back in the second half I still felt confident and we looked like scoring before Higgy had a moment of madness. Gave the ball from an attacking throw-in, had a rush of blood and looked like he went right through the back of Gardyne. So ******* stupid and it cost us big time. County did not change their style though, continuing with their abysmal lump it long style and with 10 men we were the better side. A goal probably rightly chalked off from Taylor and a couple of chances came and went. We started to have some success with long throws in the late stages but probably mostly because County were sitting so deep and cacking it that we would equalise. All in all, a dreadful result but I cannot remember losing a game where a team had less completed passes than County did today. Some of the worst to watch play I've ever seen from a team and yet somehow, they won.
  3. Terrific feeling getting that late equaliser, just a shame we didn't get any favours from the others today. And so frustrating to have more shots and more possession than an opponent and not win, it's happened so many times. Getting three points next week is vital.
  4. Still looking for a ticket if anyone has one spare...
  5. Tried to get through on the phone for an hour from Inverness, got the busy signal throughout. Absolutely gutted they've sold out.
  6. Should also mention that we nearly conceded a ludicrous own goal when Fox let a Balatoni passback under his foot in the first half at 1-1. Trundled just wide, heart in mouth.
  7. Well, what a let off that was. We started poorly, major warning sign from a Stevenson volley early on and then fell behind after just four minutes, nice acrobatic finish from Cowden's speedy forward. But we didn't fold and came back into it. Controlled the game for most of the first half and deservedly level when Erskine got through and squared to Lawless. He hit it straight at the keeper but thankfully poked a second attempt in. After that we created a few more openings, Erskine was lively going forward and could've scored on a few occasions but shots were too close to the keeper. Solid first half showing, should have been in front. The fog started to descend midway through the first half and by half-time it was really bad. Both managers were asked if they wanted to play on at the start of the second half but it probably should've been called off by then. You couldn't see the dugouts from the stand opposite and there were spells of the match where most of the stadium had no idea what was happening. Cowdenbeath seemed to cope better than us though, and got back in front (from what I could make out). We fell asleep down the right and Stevenson squared for the lad Moore to get his second. The ref had already spoken to both benches a couple of times before he decided to call it off five minutes later with 69 minutes on the clock. A major let off, because Cowdenbeath were on the ascendancy in the second half. Not sure what happened to us after half-time, we went a bit sluggish. Maybe we were thinking it was going to get called off, or maybe we just didn't fancy it. Ref said he called it when his linesman told him he couldn't see him when he went to the other side of the pitch. Cameron understably annoyed at the decision, said it was no worse midway through the half than it was when the ref called it. Not sure about that personally, it seemed to be getting gradually worse as the night wore on. No way would it have been fair to continue. Archie relieved at the let off but said he was really disappointing by the performance. It could turn out to be a major turning point if we win the re-arranged fixture there, whenever it happens. But it was another away match and another massive struggle. If we can't find a way to start winning on the road we're going to come up short.
  8. I actually live in Dunfermline now, it was for work. I'm a reporter for a newspaper in Fife.
  9. I was at the Morton game today and have to say that 4-1 totally flattered them. Dunfermline were the better side in the first half, Morton's penalty seemed a bit dubious and Barrowman hitting the bar with his was gutting. Gallacher then let a 25-30 yarder from Tidser past him (when he really should have done better) in the first minute of the second half and it just killed it. Hard to begrudge Morton, because in the second half they were rampant and if they had been more clinical they probably could've won by 6 or 7. But Dunfermline deserved to be in front at half-time, depending on what comes out about their PFA wage complaints we'll still have a really tricky game against them next week.
  10. Not the prettiest performance, but great drama and a fine result. We started quite well and were quite unlucky to go a goal behind, I thought. After that we had a bit of a poor spell but we were brought out of our funk by a terrific equaliser. I wasn't sure if Craig ahead of Doolan was the right decision but he did so well at the first goal. Fouled by their centre half but kept it going, set up Bannigan and what a great finish. Once we got in front it looked like we'd stroll it but Raith came back into it and deserved to be level really. How many times did the ball hit our post before it was finally knocked in? Three? But thankfully it just set it up for a great bit of late drama. Not entirely sure what happened from the north stand but just saw the net bulge after a scramble and grown men leaping into the air and hugging total strangers. What a fantastic feeling, made even sweeter by hearing that Dunfermline dropped points. Bannigan was deservedly man of the match. He covered so much ground and never gave up. Sinclair and Bannigan in the same team seemed to work really well and we had a decent balance without Murray playing. We missed O'Donnell, nothing really came off for Erskine today, but Lawless was a menace. Smith was solid too. Made a great save from a Graham header in the first half and was really brave with the block he made when Raith broke clean through. We've played much better, but these three points are the type we need to grab if we're winning the league this year.
  11. And Montrose. If it means a better product on the pitch then I am all for it.
  12. This must be absolutely awful for Dundee supporters, I have a degree of sympathy for them. And how much do I wish that football in reality was more like football manager in terms of having the cash to sign free agents. Add Shimmin, McMenamin and Antoine-Curier to our bunch and we'd be laughing.
