After the past 4 or 5 performances there is a lot more deadwood as you call it than McGuigan .The team has been shit and have stuttered over the finishing line without a Plan B when the first plan doesn`t appear to be working.We play with 1 out and out striker , say Doolan and when he fires blanks we bring on a sub, invariably Craig .Both of them are identikits and provide no challenge for big strapping centre backs, a la Mensing the other evening .Friggin strolled through the game .If we had McGuigan on the bench i`m sure he would come on and give defenders a new problem unlike Mork and Mindy.As for keeping him to use his degree to help the other guys,I personally would find that quite insulting and if he isn`t going to feature in anyones plans the club should do the decent thing and pay up his contract and let him move on with his career either up here or down south, maybe even Ireland . Unfair to keep the big guy hanging on waiting on scraps from the top table.Thistle have taken the high moral ground on Jackie Mc`s contract issue so i`m sure if we want McGuigan and other to go whilst still under contract , i`m sure we should cough up the dough .

I`d have same team as midweek with McGuigan in for Craig .

Sorry to disappoint but after talking to a couple of guys in " the know " , they say Archie rates McGuigan and fully intends utilising him this season and next. Elliot is in same position seemingly with a new one year deal a possibility.

Totally agree with this post.The big man has hardly had a kick due to form or perseverance with Doolan and Craig .He`s on a 2 year deal so folk should get off his case and wait till he`s had a chance to show what he can bring to the team .

Just to keep the feelgood factor going this week with the Cup Final and the League within our grasp , I feel it`s a good time to mention and praise the exploits of our under 15s who are on an undefeated run of 19 games , including a game last week at Lennoxtown when they thumped Celtic 4-2 after going a goal down .Just hope the club can get a few of these lads signed up before the big guns come calling .C`mon the Jags.

Mark McGuigan must be really wondering why Thistle recalled him from The Wee Vers where he was playing regularly and banging in the goals , to sitting in the stand getting no game time whatsoever.Seems to me they should have left him at Rovers and that would have benefitted everyone.By all accounts the rovers fans loved him as well . He`s had no game time here worth talking about for anyone to pass judgement on the big man. Maybe we`re saving him for the SPL ?

Was at the game today as well and think McGuigan deserves a break from some folk on here.He was no worse than Doolan who seemingly can do no wrong in some peoples eyes.He also has not had anything like the game time of some of the rest of the underperformers recently.Also interesting quote saying nice to see Craigen dong well cos he came from Uni football.Where the frig did McGuigan come from ? Be fair guys before you press the post button .We`re all in this together remember .

My oh my aren't some of our fans getting hard to please . I also took in this game and the young jags stretchec their run to 15 games unbeaten . The boys won in a canter . Totally in control . What more can tbey do ?

Can anyone explain to me why Thistle recalled Elliott ,McGuigan and Craigan from their respective loan deals to sit in the stand at Firhill .These guys need game time and are obviusly not getting it .Have watched the reserves and they are pish . Nothing coming through at all so surely these players would have been better served playing competitively and keepin g their confidence high instead of being left to vegetate.

I for one was delighted to see Jackie get off to a flyer at Tannadice against Sevco 5088.United showed them up to be a dull, shitty third division outfit.Thought the United fans singing was terrific.Absolutely ripped the pish out of the Govan mob.Well done Jackie and good luck in the future.
