  1. We shipped awful goals against County in the last match of the season. If we had held the draw, we would have been 7th and significantly better off financially. We should have finished higher than 10th.
  2. Agree with angry gaz. We did improve a bit in defence with Lee Mair in there, but we were still leaking bad goals due to poor organization in our last two fixtures. I reckon that would have been an important consideration for Archie when deciding to offer Mair a new contract or not. We all know what we need in terms of positions. It's up to Archie to find the personnel, and he is obviously frustrated that he hasn't been able to sign more than one new player at this stage. Have to hope there are better candidates out there than we could attract last season as most of the trialists were certainly not worth a contract.
  3. Is that inclusive of VAT? If so, much better value than normal
  4. Well we wouldn't be offering anything like the money The Rangers FC threw at Sandaza etc, and he would know that. He scored 5 goals for Lugo last season in 12 starts and 15 sub appearances according to Football Stats website. Not great, but he was excellent for St. Johnstone. Though he failed badly at Ibrox, he certainly wasn't shirking and got his face panelled in competing with the QoS keeper I think. If Archie signs him, I would hope for St.J-level performances from him..... He is only 29, so certainly not past it.
  5. We certainly didn't have any hope of signing Taylor if Scunthorpe are willing to run at this level of loss two seasons in a row: http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/Club-s-accounts-reveal-1-5million-loss-Scunthorpe/story-20227467-detail/story.html £3.5M lost in two seasons. Not quite Sevco, but no chance of competing with that. Maybe we will pick up Taylor when they go into administration............
  6. I think the one below John Marr is John Hansen. I got him to sign a programme one Anglo-Scottish Cup night and it looked pretty similar.
  7. Would be good if we could use the postponement to arrange a glamour friendly. Burnley at Firhill please....
  8. Namibia have never qualified for a WC finals and Madaschi never made it but did play some qualifiers. Also Olympics when he was with us.
  9. Those who have appeared for the Jags and been in World Cup squads (mostly before they were Jags): Alan Rough, David Harvey, Jim Stewart, Alan Hansen, Mo Johnston, Robert Fleck, Jackie McNamara, Simon Donnelly, Derek Whyte, Derek Johnstone, Peter Cormack, Murdo MacLeod, Jimmy Davidson and Johnny Mackenzie. Anyone else?
  10. Alan Rough, Alan Hansen, Mo Johnston, Bill Shankly and AN Other. I knew the first four and had to find out who the latter was, but was so shocked, I feel I have to leave it to someone else.....
  11. I'm sure I've come across some of these games on the RED button while watching BBC in the past. Might be able to watch them. Anyone know if there is a game schedule available? Billko?
  12. Could someone list the clubs that voted against us, please? I want to enjoy myself then whet my appetite for when another of them meets their fate.......
  13. I reckon he would be a good replacement for ATS. Has a decent delivery into the box and can score a few from free kicks.
  14. I guess that counts us out then as we would be unlikely to be able to make an offer other than "we'll take him off your hands"....
  15. Larsson has about as much fitba management experience as me. Non-starter, I would think.
  16. Beginning to sound even more like mince. If Taylor was out of contract, they couldn't offer him to another club anyway. I think your source is confused to say the least.
  17. My gaffer is a StM fan and he said they had been offered and rejected £100K. They could up their offer of course.
  18. As far as I can see, there are people negatively affected by this who are pointing out why and doing so in a reasoned manner. What's up with that? If you fancy casting an eye over the North Stand response on this site, some of it was utterly rabid. The club have made an announcement but the negative aspects of these changes impact on people who were using the scheme properly. I don't think that is ideal and I'm sure the club don't want to penalise people who are honest supporters benefiting from a positive policy. Discussing the issue and seeking some feedback would be the best way forward if you ask me unless we are in a situation of the "shoutiest" get listened to while the reasoned are ignored.
  19. Thank you for settling that. Post No 14 from the meeting discussion thread led me to believe that it was to be scrapped: Posted 16 May 2014 - 06:31 PM From twitter RE the under 16s change "£5 walk up. Free season ticket if sit in a specific section. £50 if you want to sit with your dad. Its due to abuse of walk up Under 16s. Will be reviewed following negative feedback tonight."
  20. Am I right in thinking that free entry on the day of the match is being dropped? I am sure that was intimated in the discussion after the fans meeting last week where the stance of the North Stand guys was supported by many fans who sit in the JHS. Or did I make that up? Can someone confirm?
  21. If you go to the family stand at St. M, you can get up to 3 free kids tickets. Adult ST for that end is £285.
  22. That's all those north stand whingers who have JH season tickets but don't use the seat......
  23. He's surely in the right wage and age bracket for a job/retirement package in the Govan area....?
