  1. I'm sure that scratching the surface of any city in Britain in the 80s would uncover similar scenes. My first experience of Glasgow was in '85. I came up for a job interview which was on a Monday. I asked my prospective employer, the Citizens' Theatre, to book me into a hotel for the weekend so that I could 'interview' the city. They put me up in Babbity Bowsters. Had a great weekend. Managed to get to see Loudon Wainwright III at the Pavilion. On the Sunday evening I decided to walk to the Citz to see how long it would take in the morning. It was, of course, raining. As I crossed the bridge to the notorious Gorbals I heard the sound of running footsteps behind me. I whirled round ready to repel the Slasher of Gorbals Street. In his place there was a woman inviting me to share her umbrella. Embracing the people of Glasgow was an easy decision to make, leaving behind me the real slasher, Margaret Thatcher, and her No Society gang.
  2. Started in November, ends in March. JAGSMAN1968 in the driving seat but if it finishes Hearts 2 Inverness 2 then Ladybug wins.
  3. I know which side of the bus I would be on!
  4. Update A few more to come. Deadline 7.44pm Wednesday
  5. Could be two winners on Wednesday. Rid Skwerr & the PAYE fund!
  6. Thanks MJ. Nothing decided yet. I think that we would need to finish with some sort of league as we would need to establish a top 6/7 (hopefully). Don't want there to be much possibility of a tied position around these places. Would be great if it didn't need much administration but with 154 entrants, that's not very likely. I have two reasons for thinking about the Euro Championships; first, it gives us something to do over the summer; second, I already have a few competitions to run until the end of the season for the Player Sponsorship. They take up a bit of my free time.
  7. Taking up TMJs player based incentive, I'll add £5 for each Tomas Cerny clean sheet. £10 for clean sheet v Celtic, Aberdeen & Hearts.
  8. When I approached the club with this proposal, I had a target in mind. I thought that by the end of the season and with the help of incentives provided by the club, we could get 72 £1 pledges. Given a points tally of 14, this would mean we would raise just over £1000. I underestimated you. Double my original target already. I love all the add ons that you are coming up with. Inventive ways of giving extra cash to the club. It's us providing incentives to the club now! Thanks the Shuggie & Nomads for the generous donation.
  9. I'm afraid you didn't have Inverness (or Cabbage ) in the last round. Other three are good.
  10. This is truly remarkable. All for the greater good of Partick Thistle. Thank you all.
  11. Wow. Much appreciated Shuggie. It will be a great help.
  12. Thanks MJ. I will PM when collecting money. Paypal is usual and easiest. Can do bank transfer.
  13. It's Partick Thistle, scotty. We should all be used to it. But I have to admit to being pretty pi55ed off after the game. And I wasn't at Fir Park to witness it. It will happen. Points will come. The club will get our money and we will not be in the playoffs. In Archie we trust.
